Aside from the info found in UE, can anyone tell me more about him, who is he really?

Anyone read more info in older edition books? or perhaps novels?

Am planning a campaign with the Blightlords, and anything you can bring will help alot.

Thx,

From what I can recall he's new for that book, so there is no other info on him in the old sourcebooks or novels. :)

I have never encountered info on him before. I do believe that he is a new "chosen" to enter into the fray.

Ok, I see... well thanks guys for that quick reply,

I guess it's up to me then to devise a devious character and make him as memorable as possible... :smirk:

Aren't the stats for this fellow in the Unapproachable East book? I thought he was listed in there. You don't have to make up the stats for him.

MakesMeSick,

If you don't think it would compromise your campaign (ie as long as your players don't look around here), please post your ideas and developments. I think the Rotting Man and the whole Talontar deal is fascinating and am interested in spinning that into a campaign myself; I think other perspectives would be a spur to creativity... plus I'd like to steal your ideas. For home use, of course. :D

Yeah, I've got the stats and little background info from the book Lashan, and that's a good start, but I want more!

ender, well I think it would be a great idea to post each other's thoughts on the Rotting Man, and see if others can put something here and there, and we might just have a good campaign start

I'll post mines soon, as right now don't have my notes on the subject,

Looking forward to read your thoughts on this evil talontar blightlord,

The Rotting Man, Chosen of Talona is a NE male half-fiend/human
druid 12/Talontar blightlord 10. That is all the "statistical" information they give in the entire book aside from history and roleplaying information (which is very very good I might add).
When I had to actually write him up I gave him an CR of 32 ( 22 class levels, then +4 for race, +6 for Chosen template). He was exceptionally hard to defeat (well run off I should say) for the group I have which is comprised now of several epic level characters.
The entire Rotting Man vs. the Nentyarch of Leth is one of the best adventure hooks I've seen put out for Forgotten Realms. So much can be done with that storyline and it doesn't just have to be isolated to the Unapproachable East either. This is one of their best sourcebooks yet in my opinion and I hope they have more along these lines in the future.

Usually, the Chosen template only add +4 to the CR.
