| Phantom Archer10-28-03, 11:46 PM | So I just got my hands on Underdark and it's a good book...but I have one question about the Metalline special ability for weapons. On page 69 it states: "The wielder can alter the composition of a metalline weapon from one kind of metal to another.....a metalline bastard sword can become an adamantine bastard sword or an iron bastard sword." Pretty clear and simple. One can see uses for this as one may need a silver or adamantine weapon to get past the damage reduction of certain creatures. But then I thought about all the various different types of metal in Magic of Fearun and I got to thinking. Can metalline be used to change a weapon to metals like Arandur, Darksteel, or Fever Iron? And if so, will the weapon contain the special abilities of weapons made from these metals (like +1 Electricity damage for Darksteel)?? |

If you don't agree with this being a valid option then rule 0 it to your satisfaction. I didn't answer earlier as I was hoping someone with the book would clarify the matter. Good luck |

It's, what, +2? So, you're gaining the ability to penetrate DR based on material type, and, in a few cases, gain a tiny bit of energy damage, for the cost of two elemental enchantments or so? Actually, i like metalline now more than flaming, frost, weasel, ice, whatever enchantments, simply because it appeals more to me. |
