| Kuje3110-24-03, 03:12 AM | I didn't see a errata thread for Underdark so I started one. So far I caught this. Page 121, Avolakias: Thankfully few in number, the avolokias (My addition: I think it should be avolakias) are master necromancers and shapechangers. In its true form, an avolakia is a 10-foot monstrosity combining insectile, octopoid, and wormlike features. Devoted to the elevation of deities of decay and undeath (including Ghaunadaur and Velsharoon, among others), an avolokia (My addition: Again I think it should be avolakia) nest is surrounded by a shambling army of undead under the monsters' control. Avolakias occasionally ally with aboleths or mind flayers, but they regard humanoids of any sort as nothing more than fodder for creating more undead. |
| zootcat10-24-03, 02:36 PM | Monster Manual 3.5 gives the derro level adjustment at +2. Underdark gives it at +1 (page 19, Table 12). Thus the ECL should be 5not 4 (page 20). If I missed something, please set me straight. |
| Kuje3110-25-03, 03:34 PM | Bump any one else find any errors? |
| Herr Doktor10-25-03, 04:53 PM | Underdark IS out, correct? I must get it today, must, yes... Good players with cars willing to go and make the purchase for me. |

| Gellion10-25-03, 05:56 PM | Sweet, it has Avolokia.:bounce: |

| Iakhovas10-26-03, 09:19 AM | Great. The old Lolth / Lloth debate. IMHO, when it comes to fluffy stuff like NPC names, history, etc... the original source should be canon. There is seldom a good reason to justify a NPC name change. More likely than not, the new designer simply misspelled it. Or in the case of a historical change, they didn't do proper research and simply got the facts wrong. |
| ruadan10-26-03, 12:12 PM | On pg. 70 in the description of the Xorn Movement armor it refers to the "xorn movement spell (see Chapter 4). I did not find that spell in chapter 4 of UD but it can be found in the Manual of the Planes. |
| Another Gnome10-26-03, 01:30 PM | no - the newest books supersedes the oldest - MM3.5 is older than UD so UD correct the MM3.5 An accessory book never updates a core rule, however, unless explicitly stated so (such as was the case in the class accessory books for some spells and feats). Unless the level adjustment in UD is specifically said to replace the MM, it's either setting-specific or simply wrong (more likely). |
| BobROE10-26-03, 08:48 PM | I don't have the book infront of me and so can't give a page reference but there was an NPC in the book that had ranger levels and seemed to be getting d10's for those levels. They should be d8's (unless all the info I've been getting about the 3.5 ranger has been wrong) |
| Sariel Rahab10-27-03, 09:22 AM | I read somewhere, might have been on the Richard Baker thread, but not quite sure, that Derro now, at least in the realms, only count as +1. On top of that is the racial HD, of course. So Underdark should be correct. |
| Another Gnome10-27-03, 01:51 PM | I read somewhere, might have been on the Richard Baker thread, but not quite sure, that Derro now, at least in the realms, only count as +1. Mr. Baker was referring to duergar in that post, not derro. |
| Kuje3110-29-03, 12:35 AM | Bump, any one else find any more errors? |
| Alisttair10-29-03, 11:42 AM | They seem to have put a coffee stain on page 8.... oh no wait, that is my coffee on my copy  |
| Herr Doktor10-29-03, 11:56 AM | Originally posted by Alisttair oh no wait, that is my coffee on my copy  That's gotta hurt! My 3rd Edition PHB had a nice blueberry stain on the rogue class page, and water damage from rain... Not to mention none of my player's had one and they were holding out for the 3.5 one so it accumulated quite a bit of folds and structural damage... |
| Doran Kess10-29-03, 03:39 PM | So, sounds like a really well-done book then. (Cause I for one havn't found a single thing wrong with it yet!) :D |

Even worse, i spilled a bottle of Coke on my friend's 3.0 Player's Handbook. Lucky for me he was getting the 3.5 in a few months afterwards :P |
| Gez10-29-03, 08:17 PM | Ah, the Avolakia spelling debate... It's very confusing, because it is Avolakia in Dragon #285, but it is Avolakia in the MM2 and Avolakia in its Underdark entry, with Avolokia in the description. Very, very confusing. I propose we all use the "ugly hentai worm" spelling instead. http://www.nutkinland.com/images/smilies/smiles/mischief.gif |
| PEBKAC10-29-03, 10:32 PM | Page 138 in the Deep Imaskar entry. Under authority figures it lists High Lord Planner Illis Khendarhine as being sorcer 4/wizard 20/archamge 6. Five level prestige classes do not scale past level 5 according to the Epic Level Handbook. |
| Iakhovas11-15-03, 02:46 PM | Hmmm. The history of the city of Fluvenilstra, found on page 150 says the city was attacked and razed by derro in 1470 DR. I can only assume they meant 1370 DR as 1470 would be a date far in the future. |
| Jem Purplefeather11-15-03, 06:03 PM | Tsk...tsk...tsk...Wizards of the Coast...we have to work on our errors...now don't we? |

It doesn't stack any abilities with ranger AFAIK. Some are redundant, so I guess the intent is to get out of ranger and in to that as fast as possible. |
| Sir Falke11-19-03, 12:24 PM | Page 6, Table 1-1 states that the Deep Imaskari have a +2 Int and -2 Str, while on page 9, under "Deep Imaskari Racial Traits" says +2 Inteligence and -2 Dexterity. Being that the description on page 9 says that the Deep Imaskari are not as agile as other humanoid races, I suppose the error is on Table 1-1. |
| Crypt King12-05-03, 02:14 PM | Derro, um I can't seem to find them in the 3.5 mm, they are in the 3.0 but where are they in the 3.5 book? |

Yeah i saw that in mine though i think it says -2 dex, i go with the +2 int, -2 dex. |
| Herr Doktor12-15-03, 10:40 AM | How about the ECL for the Orog? They're an ECL 2 (LA 2 no HD) in Races of Faerūn, but Underdark lists them as being ECL 3 without including any sort of updated stats or anything. Is this a mistake, or are Orog really ECL 3? |
| Freakboy12-15-03, 06:54 PM | Rich Baker answered this in the ask the core rulebooks authors thread. He said it is supposed to be ECL 3. The ECL 2 was a misprint. Hope that helps. |
| Iakhovas12-15-03, 07:05 PM | Mr. Baker said "I'm pretty sure that Races of Faerun is right on this one. Sorry for the confusion." So that would imply ECL 2 is correct. |
| Freakboy12-15-03, 07:10 PM | Oops sorry about that..... Went back and look and I just misread it part of his answer.... :D |
