Hey, just received my copy of Underdark. Do I have a bad copy or is there no pullout map? The two page spread on pages 124 & 125 is nice, but the strip of the map I need is down in the seam of the book.
I wanted to do a player handout but have two problems, the map is dark and the seam will make it difficult to copy.

For $32.95 you would think there would be a pullout map.

I haven't checked it out yet but UE and SM didn't have pull-put maps so I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't. I'm not saying I like it but it doesn't surpise me.

I was going to say that sounded strange. My copy also has a pull out map in it, and I didn't get it at Gen Con. :)

Can you give some information about the imaskari vengeance taker prestige class please?...

I picked up my copy yesterday, and just like UE it's doesn't have a pullout map. This new trend by WotC is not a good one, as one of the greatest things about FR has always been the amazing maps. To have to flip to the middle of the book everytime you want to see a map is more than just annoying.

Yeah, I forgot SM did have a map. Sorry about that.

The section on Menzo is pg 161-164. Due to pictures it is about 2 1/2 pages of text. The map looks different than the one I remember from the box set. Standard city stat block and a few paragraphs about visiting, a little history, and shory descriptions of 10 sites. Also, a couple of paragraphs about the sourounding area.

FOr those who have underdark, what are the Githyanki up to?

DGTU said the Githyanki had taken over one of the abandoned Dwarven Kingdoms, the Kingdoms close to that mindflayer city near westgate

I actualy was impressed with the Underdark map. At least we finialy got one. I would have loved for it to have been a clear map though tnat overlaid the more traditional Faerun map rather then just the plain underdark map. Would have made finding the areas under regions much easier.

Wasn't there an underdark map with Drizzt Do'Urden's Guid to the Underdark? I'm pretty sure I have it around here somewhere.

They posted the underdak maps online today. Unfortunately, the map of underdark regions in Faerun is about 4 inches square.

Yeah… the map of Menzoberranzan is okay but that Underdark of Faerûn map is woefully inadequate.

Given the amount of detail across the entire continent, and in order for the map to be serviceable as a handout for campaigns, the map needs to be at least 800 x 600… at least. Although I would love to see a 1024 x 768 map so I could use it as wallpaper. :)

But I may as well start praying to Ao while I’m waiting for WotC to release that map on the main site … at least with Ao I have a better chance of my prayers being answered!

Just an amusing little blurb: Ryltar is listed as one of the sample male names for the Drow. I made that up from the Elven name generator in an old issue of Dragon, and now WotC has swiped it. :D
