| Ceran01-13-04, 03:32 PM | I've flipped through the pages of Underdark and totally loved it. However I have a small problem, I don't have enough money to buy two books, and I'm unfamiliar with Forgotten Realms. Do I have to buy the FR Campaign setting to use Underdark? I would appreciate in depth answers on this (: |

I would appreciate in depth answers on this (: Some of it is realms specific, since it ties into the current series of novels that is taking place. But parts of it could be used in any other world that has an Underdark..... |
| mwbeeler01-13-04, 03:45 PM | If you are going to get Underdark as a stand alone, you might also want to try to track down the recent Dragon issue about Drow, which includes some really nice stuff about Drow enclaves in the Greyhawk world. I'd include a link to Piazo, but they can't seem to find my house either (grumble). |
| Ceran01-13-04, 03:47 PM | I'm not sure if they have Dragon Magazine in Norway, and if they do, it's at sky high prizes I'd guess. Anyway, I wont make a huge mistake buying Underdark and not FR Setting? Just want to be sure on that points (: |

The feats, classes, spells, etc can be used by everyone...... But some of the geography has been reshaped because of the novel series that is still being written. |

| Ceran01-13-04, 05:13 PM | They do? Excellent! Avalon's where I buy my books (in Bergen) Don't think they have Outlands there though? Thanks (: Oh, and in your profile you can set a limit to how long signatures you wish to see. At least I think that was this forum... |

Nope don't think vbulletin does that. It does allow you to shut them off however, which I just did. Thanks for reminding me.:D |

| Cunning Linguist01-14-04, 03:46 AM | They do? Excellent! Avalon's where I buy my books (in Bergen) They have it in the back of the store, on a center shelf.. the same wall as the D&D books. (I think there is a shelf with some other roleplaying books in between the Mags and D20 books) |
| Zanan01-14-04, 04:18 AM | Vendui! I for one would not propose to get this Dragon issue, as it is ... well ... not FR related and at odds with much that is known about the drow we have come to love. Anyway, if you want to acquire "cheap" FR sources about the drow and the Underdark, you can get them for $4.99 (usually) HERE (http://www.svgames.com/svgames-store/downloads-wotc-adndfgrlm.html) as PDF downloads. Most of this is still AD&D (the previous version of D&D) but the historical stuff as well as the descriptions of places et al are untouched by this. Totally free are the downloads from the Wizards themselves, which you can get HERE (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/downloads). Again, it is AD&D material, but as I said, apart from character stats nothing has changed (that much). BTW, you can, of course, google your way to further information in the WWW and you'll be surprised how much is out there. |
