| Hoplite21708-02-04, 05:01 PM | Hey all, ive been thinking of doing an undersea campaign, probably going to be focused on battles between aquatic elves and the sahaguin. Anyways, since this is my first time DMing undersea I was hoping to get some advice from some DMs who have done this. It would be great if you could sort of describe how your campaign went so I could draw ideas from it. Also, what would an underwater civilizations(aquatic elf) structures be made of? What kinds of "things" would I describe to the pcs that would make the environment more real?("In a field of trees, birds chirping, with a large rock in the middle" is to land, what is that to undersea? I hope that makes sense :)) any help appreciated |

Change that to: "In a field of kelp and sponges, schools of fish darting to and fro, with a large outcropping of coral in the center." A sea elf city could be carved into a coral reef, or some old undersea ruins that they've moved into, altered to suit their own needs and aesthetics... Since you don't really need protection from the "weather" underwater, it really doesn't make a whole lot of sense to have a roof over your head. I would imagine lots of "open-air" (so to speak) dwellings, with alcoves and enclosures used only when privacy is desired, or for defensive arrangements. |

You'll find rules for underwater breathing, undersea vision, effects of pressure, temperatures, combat, spellcasting, everething you'll need to reach Seros, the faerunian undersea domain :D With this book, you'll be able to drive your players through uncommon adventures...I remember my bunch of friends (and players) totally fascinated, a few years ago, by the new "salty taste" of my campaign. You won't be disappointed  |

Aside from that, my forrays into aquatics have always found the movement, combat and magic rules underwater challenging. Make sure you understand them, especially if you plan on having land dwelling PCs venture to the ocean depths. |
