| Thadius04-21-04, 04:09 PM | I'm in a pickle! I'm stuck at work, and one of my players just emailed me asking about unique mounts in the Realms. I'd like to do something, but I'm drawing a blank! What I do know, is that I'd like the mount to have animal intelligence, unable to fly, and.... I'm not sure after that! The campaign is taking place in The North. Around Waterdeep and The Silver Marches. My thanks folks! :D |
| Cunning Linguist04-21-04, 04:22 PM | A deep Roth! |
| Straploknight04-21-04, 06:05 PM | minature giant space hamsters |
| Kuje3104-21-04, 06:10 PM | Dragon 243, Destriers of the Planes. :) It's 2e though. |
| Thadius04-21-04, 06:29 PM | Ooooooooooo! Minature Giant Space Hamsters! Um, any other ideas? Thanks! |
| Desies04-21-04, 06:48 PM | the saddest thing about this terrible Minsk inspired thing is THERE ARE ACTUALLY STATS FOR THE DAMN THINGS |

| Purple Dragon Knight04-21-04, 08:05 PM | Best-FR-mount-ever! --> Aasperii. It was a 2nd edition FR Monster Compendium horse-like beast. Now its stats are covered in 3.0 Monster Manual 2, later updated to 3.5 by Rich Baker's Monster Update web supplement, available for download on FR's main page (which seems to be down at the moment). Back in 2nd edition, it was the fastest mount existing on Toril (it even surpassed dragons back then, which were kinda slow). Now I don't know how they compare to Griffon and Pegasi... I'll get back to you on this. |
| Dargoth04-21-04, 09:13 PM | What Race is the Character? What class is the character? |
| Kuje3104-21-04, 09:21 PM | If it's elven, how about a moonhorse...... |
| TheYeti177504-21-04, 09:33 PM | Our paladin in the group asked for a special mount and we came up with a giant blink dog that was ridable. |

| Kain's avatar04-21-04, 11:30 PM | Dracolich, ala Sammaster. Veserabs, the strange worm-bat mounts of Shade. The Darkenbeasts of the Red Wizards... a dragon-like mount created from a small animal. Faerûian dragons, Fang, Shadow, Brown, Song dragons. Giant Striders, used as mounts by firenewts and other creatures, are kinda like a ostrich except they are lizards. Various types of Rothe. The Ibrandlin are probably used as mounts by some worshippers of Ibrandul. Ibrandul is dead, its really Shar granting their spells in disguise, so perhaps some Shar worshippers might mount them too. Black Unicorns are used as mounts by the Red Wizards. I could see a Bane worshipper riding a Beast of Xvim. Zhents have been known to ride Perytons. These are just some of the mounts unique to Toril. |

There is a certain amount of weight poportional to the size of the blinking creature that it can take with it. Our DM ruled that he can blink with it. |

It makes for a very cool mount/cohort! :) |

As far as I can tell, it can also choose to remain on the ethereal plane when it turns off the blink effect. :) |
| Mika04-25-04, 07:42 PM | umm can someone give me a link to or post the stats for our favorite hamsters? i would love to run them against my Pc (if they stop laughing long enough to play) -Mika |

| Duke Lenethar05-04-04, 02:35 PM | I made the mistake of letting the wizard ride a young dragon. That led to a lot of problems, so we decided to give him a velociraptor from Chult instead. He's supposed to be an eccentric businessman, anyway... :D |
| Brahzs M'ahnkei05-04-04, 05:44 PM | If your PC is more nature-based, look at the Legendary Animals; bear, tiger and eagle come to mind first, but what about an aquatic elf riding a dire or legendary shark? ;) |
| Autosponge05-04-04, 06:36 PM | Grant him a Kraken as a mount. If he's ever at the bottom of the ocean he can ride it. Now :censored: off I'm busy writing the next adventure! If you want a special mount, take a prestige class like Skylord or Windrider or something. Otherwise, don't even try it. Blinkdog my :censored:, that's so abuseable it's not funny. |
