| At06-04-04, 01:10 AM | Adventure Locales: The Haunted Glen mentions an Unseelie Court. I've not heard mention of a such a thing exisiting in the Realms, and I've read a good portion of Realms material. Was this added for the web article, or has such a thing actually existed in the past? Here is a link to the article for those interested in reading it: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/al/20040602a |
| Kuje3106-04-04, 02:12 AM | It did exist in FR since the Queen of Air and Darkness was one of Corellon's enemies as well as the Seldarine's..... But 3e had written it out but I guess they added it back in with that article.... Elaine also used it in her Haluraa novels. |
| Shemeska the Marauder06-04-04, 08:52 PM | Previous to 3e not mentioning it, except as Kuje31 mentioned above, the Queen of Air and Darkness held court in a domain that wandered the various layers of Pendemonium. Her counterpart in the Seelie Court did the same across the layers of Ysgard. Of course 3e wrecked the FR cosmology so you'll have to either revert to the Great Wheel *makes a thumbs up gesture*, or adapt it to the new planes. Myself I actually took a shine to the use of Faerie as an ethereal demiplane wandering the trackless sea of the deep ethereal and touching upon the hidden and deep reaches of the wilder places of the various prime material worlds. Of course I also prefer my fey a bit more dark and alien than traditional takes on them. Stories by Arthur Machen and others exemplify my take on at least the Unseelie. |

| Barmoz07-20-04, 12:27 AM | the Councilors and Kings trilogy referred to it quite extensively, and it is written with 3e in mind as they make reference to sorcerer and wizard differences, I personally would use the pandemonium / ysgard but it hasn't really come up in my campaigns |
