The Unseelie Court is home to the bad, evil Fey of all types.

Basically, there are two types of fey: good or bad. The bad ones are part of the "Unseelie Court". This is based of real earth legends and gets converted differently into lots of different game systems and d20 products.

You can also find out more in 2e's Monster Mythology (should be available as a ESD) and the Fey Feature that on WOTC's web site.

The Unseelie is ruled over by the Queen of Air and Darkness. The Seelie is ruled over by Oberon and Titania.

The Unseelie Court can be found on the Plane of Pandemonium where the Queen of Air and Darkness resides. The Seelie Court wanders the planes. It is most often found on the Planes of Arborea, the Beastlands, Elysium, and occasionally Ysgard.

Ah, I wonder where they will move these now that the Tree is being detailed and expanded in the new Players Guide or will they just retcon the courts out of existance?

Umm, neither the Seelie nor the Unseelie fey had anything whatsoever to do with the Drows' creation. There's not much connection between the fey courts and the elves of FR at all. About as much as there is between the fey courts and humans or dwarves. Aka not much.

Uhm, no. The drow of FR = evil elves cursed by Corellon to have black skin -- whether they originally had it or not -- and driven underground.

I think you should read the Counselor & Kings Novels. Which states that some of the Dark Elves where messing around with the Unseelie summoning spells. which lead to some of them been taken to the Court and came out as the Drow.

I am not saying they where not Evil before they went in they just came out worse.

And in turn I would suggest that you read nearly every other FR book regarding the Drow/Dark Elves - in particular Evermeet: Island of Elves. In nearly all of these sources they specifically detail how the Dark Elves became Drow - ie. Corellon cursed them and sent them to the Underdark....Although this process was given more specifics by Elaine Cunningham in Evermeet where she describes that the first actual Drow were the result of her mating with a Dark Elf mage while in avatar form, their offspring were the first actual Drow. Then following the Crown Wars the Drow and the remaining Dark Elves were banished to the underdark and forever coursed, meaning that when they die their spirits/souls do not go to Aravandor (however it's spelled). Thus, the Dark Elves became Drow.

Although, I am familiar with the "Drow" interaction with the Unseelie court and you are correct that they went in and then returned more vile and that is true - if the offspring of Lolth could be made any more vile...It was more my understanding that during the Crown Wars that the Unseelie Court and formed a loose alliance with the "Drow" and basically added a few spells here and there while perhaps adding ever so slightly to their already vile temperament.
