Updated Stats for Characters in the Novels? [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-04-05, 01:27 PM I have my old Hall of Heros, but it's pretty dated. I want to run a game, where my players just pick characters from the novels they like, and we play. It's a one shot to just have a good time.

Can anybody help me out here?

12-04-05, 02:27 PM What Characters are you looking for stats for?
There are 2 NPC threads in the People and Places part of the FR Forums, which has Unofficial NPCs for NPCs that never were given a full write-up in 3E.
There are a few other threads floating around also (especially ones where people disagree with the official stats).

12-04-05, 05:25 PM I just want to figure out which books have the stats for the characters. My players just want to do a one shot, so I don't want to spend a lot of time researching whether I agree or disagree with the stats.

I'd stick to characters written by RA Salavtore and Elaine Cunnigham. Those are the two authors my players like to read.

12-04-05, 06:17 PM RAS and Elaine, eh? Well, Drizzt and Artemis Entreri have full stat blocks in the FRCS. Cattie-Brie, Regis, Ivan, and Pikel have write-ups somewhere on the WotC site (maybe somebody can link that?). Cadderly has a write-up here (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=books/fr/deneir). I'm not sure what book they're in, but I know Wulfgar and Bruenor have stats in some 3.Xe book (I'm sure someone else can name it). I'm not sure about Elaine's guys, though.

12-04-05, 11:18 PM Arilyn, Elaith, and Khelben are all in the FRCS. Still no official 3.5 stats for Danilo (not even in the recent Waterdeep book, to my profound sadness), but the stats from the AD&D Heroes' Lorebook can be adapted pretty easily, if you can get your hands on it.

Arilyn has an updated/revised set of partial stats in I think City of Splendors: Waterdeep.
Danilo has partial stats Class/Level/etc

I second that. Part of what make FR so wonderful are all the NPCs running around. I know WotC's been focusing on new characters of late, but there's really still a lot of milage to get out of all the old favorites, too.
