Vaasa struggles [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-26-06, 10:53 AM Hello, i plan on running a 2 groups campaign taking place there (and that may end up in the abyss but that's another story).

I know a few materials where Vaasa is mentioned, but i wouldnt want to miss stuff.

What i want to know specifically is what different factions and powers have interests there.

Does Damara see Vaasa as its backyard and keeps an eye on it? Are they interested in Vaasa's Riches (bloodstone...).

How organized are the Goblinoids out there, are they plenty?

What's left of the Witch-King army? What happened to him?

Are any secret societies represented there? Cult,Zhent,Harpers,RW etc?

If anyone has any info they want to share i m taker.

10-27-06, 03:58 AM Some other people may have the time to fill you in with the info. The best source is FR 09 (methinks): The Bloodstone Lands. It is a sourcebook on Damara and Vaasa round about the demise of the Witch-King. There was a adventure series before that too, four booklets leading the (AD&D) characters from level 1 to 100. All this is AD&D, but the sourcebook has valuable info you will not get in such detail anywhere else. Happy hunting!*

*RPGnow and Paizo will have it as PDF downloads for $5.

10-28-06, 10:11 PM Unapproachable East, Lost Empires and most recently, Dragons of Faerun all have some info on Vaasa and Damara. There isn't much though. I'm hoping for a Bloodstone Lands book as I've got a campaign running there myself.

10-30-06, 10:31 PM The "H" Series of modules from old 1st ed. has a lot of good info. You may also want to search the net as I seem to remember a fan-group that had published some stuff relating to Vaasa, Damara, Impiltur and the Great Dale as part of an on-going adventure. I'm not sure I can post the link, however. The material they have is published, I believe, with permission from WoTC, and they have consulted Ed Greenwood extensively in their portrayal of said lands to keep them as canon as possible. As I said, their material is quite extensive (over a thousand pages, if memory serves). All good stuff.
Oh, what the heck....Search for the Vintyri Project.
