Can anyone point me to a good resource to find more info on the Vampires in Waterdeep? I know there is a Manshoon clone as a vampire somewhere, but I think that was in Westgate. Are there any cool vamps in Waterdeep? Or even skullport? I'm trying to lure my PC's into yet another political trap that is more than it seems.

There's a trilogy of adventures entitled "Vampires of Waterdeep" in Dungeon #126 (last month), Dungeon #127 (this month), and Dungeon #128 (next month). The adventures are titled "Blood of Malar", "Dungeon of the Crypt", and "The Fireplace Level."

Lords of Darkness also has some info, if you haven't looked there already. Champions of Ruins also has a little fluff on their minions - the night masks.

Its even written by Eric L. Boyd. The hard part might be the 13th lvl recommendation. Got to love how they are selling it in Dragon. "Seductive vampires, hungery werewolves, sinister drug dealers, trouble in the sewers, and an undead beholder?

Now that sounds like fun!!!

With Skullport (Actually had me pull it off the shelves) it doesn't have any named Vampires in the Rogues Gallery but plenty of Liches and beholders.

The Vampires of Waterdeep arc isn't nasty enough. As a matter of fact, it needs to be made rougher.

You mean, elements of dark fantasy that D&D/FR had long before WhiteWolf was even around? Certainly. ;)

No, sounds like a game that is meant to focus on only one or two specifc races, whereas in D&D vampires and werewolves are merely a part of the world and not the most prevalent character driven races. Just because they had them first doesn't mean that they are the first word in them

The entire World of Darkness theme is partically based on the D&D game. Where WW took 5 aspects (Werewolf, Vampire. Mage, Changeling, and Wraith) and then made rules were all 5 "games" could be involved it seems a little unrealistic.. meaning this

If you played a werewolf and fought a vampire... At range you were toast. You had to spend blood points to run up and get to the leech before he went poof or ran away and just kept plucking you from afar. (Sounds like Melee vs Range in D&D). But if you were a lucky doggy when you got up to the leech you would more than tear him apart not only doing hp damage but aggro damage by 2 stages and soon he would be dead.

I hope both D&D/WOD take something in light the Underworld series not so much the guns but the aspect that the werewolf wasn't such a putz at range. (Not the crazy breed creature -- though it would be kinda interesting what Selene would have to deal with from Marcus since his awakening and that she not only killed Vicktor but also made Michael Corvin what he is.)

But it isn't an entire game. It's only an adventure, highlighting one of the many aspects of a vastly more complex and varied game, as all adventures are. Adventures have done this since before WW even existed; thus, it's degrading to say that it "sounds like WW" when D&D has had adventures with vampires and werewolves, etc., in them for decades.
