This doesn't fit collectivly in one place so I am spreading it around. Basicaly I am collecting bits and pieces of knowledge and theories on obscure things to use with an ancient deity.
He is a forgotten god of the afterlife and lore. His pantheon is dead but he remains, recovering and preserving lost knowledge and other forgotten discoveries.

I would like any info on Netheril and Karsus, Mythals or anything else of note if anyone feels like contributing. Info, facts, wives tales, anything interesting I can work with. Any thoughts?

It almost sounds like you are talking about Jergal.

Ya? I don't know much about him save for that he was once the god of death (amongst other things). My knowledge on Realms history is pretty sketchy.

I can tell you what I know of Jergal off the top of my head. I am not near a supplement to quote all sorts of great material.

Jergal was an old god. He was the god of Death, the Dead, Undeath, Evil, Tyranny, Murder, and a few others, I bet. Jergal grew really bored with existance. He had been around for so long, that he got tired of even being a god. Eventually, three mortals tried to attain godhood. They were Bane, Myrkul, and Bhaal. They worked together to battle their way to try to defeat Jergal and steal his godhood. After years of trying and terrible battles, they finally came to face Jergal. At that point, Jergal just turned over his godhood to the three humans. Jergal kept a few portfolios to himself. He is still around and acts as a kind of senchal to whoever is the god of the Dead.

I knew a little about Bane, Bhaal and Myrkul from Baldurs's Gate but I didn't know Jergal's portfolio was larger. (As far as I knew it was death, murder, and tyranny). I know Bhaal died but what happend to the other two?

The other two met similar ends, though Bane was reborn through his progeny, Iyachtu Xvim, who was destroyed in the process.

Myrkul still exists in one form... The Crown of Horns, it is a magical artifact that contains that deities essence.
