The Arcane Age series needs to be udated to 3.5 in a big way. I have the Fall of Myth Drannor and Netheril, and both are great products. I think the series needs to be resurrected with such books as the Fall of Ascalhorn, and even the Crown Wars.

What would you fine folks like to see from Faerun's history become Arcane Age books?

I agree, they need to bring it all out. I loved the Netheril boxed set, the fall of myth drannor and the Cormanthyr Empire of elves books. I definitely say they need to make more.

I agree as well, but let's remember that the 3E players still don't even have as much information about the current Realms as the 2E players did before they started the Arcane Age line... So I don't think that it's pragmatic for WoTC to start doing a -lot- of detail with that, yet.

so what? Screw the 3rd ed players, I've been playing for a helluva lot longer, I deserve the things I want for my game just as much. After all, WotCASH should care about the long term players, we're the ones that made them rich.

Except if WOTC stops making money on FR, FR gets canceled. Shrug. And yes I am a old player also but I realize WOTC is a business and so they need to make books that SELL not just books they think thier old fans want. This is why it'll be another 4+ yr's, if we are lucky, before we EVER see books that expand on the other continents.

Desire and logic are two very different things. I'd love to see the Arcane Age stuff in 3.5 (or maybe not, as it would just be a face lift of the old info I already have anyway), but we don't "deserve" anything from WotC. We are consumers, they are suppliers; we don't have contracts with them or emotional ties. If anything, TSR are the people that we "deserve" things from, and they DID make an attempt to publish more - lots more - all the time, and the last time I checked, that got them bankrupt. So we didn't do a real good job in making them rich.

Trust me, with the amount of money people spend on WotCASH books, we deserve whatever we ask for. After all, Hasbro can afford it.

Since in every book must make a profit, no, there is no such thing as deserving. We deserve well written products, and we deserve that WotC respects consumer law and all that.. but we don't deserve that they make a product a few of us would buy.

Thats like saying that I deserve a new seson of Farscape, since I got the first 4 on DVD.

I love the Arcane Age products, but not because I've used them to do time-travels or historical campaigns. I use them for the history in them.

What I could really, really use is a big FAT tome called "History of the Realms". I know it would be my most used book, and I can't picture the FR DM that wouldn't wanna buy such a book.

*edit: as for wether anything is 3E, 3.5, 2.0 or whatever, I couldn't care less. I want books with info that is usable in the next version of DnD, not heaps of rules that becomes obsolete eventually. To just publish rules 'updates' of old material would make me very disappointed.

Maybe they CAN afford it, but they aren't willing to. Unless they see something in return. Which apparently they aren't. I've heard tell that hasbro's looking at shutting down the ENTIRE d20 line, unless DnD starts making better money. Wouldn't you shut something down if it was sucking the life out of your paycheck without giving enough back to make it worth your time?
