| Roman11-10-06, 03:19 PM | What kind of character would you be in Forgotten Realms? Instead of an online test (which are fun too), I invite people to post a description of themselves (whatever they consider relevant and are willing to post) in this thread and to participate in evaluating what the stats (ability scores, race, sub-race, class, region, and other relevant info if applicable) of the Forgotten Realms incarnation of the others who posted their descriptions would be! This kind of ‘peer evaluation’ will be more interesting than an online test, as it can be more nuanced. :) So post your description and the rest of us will attempt to judge what type of Forgotten Realms character you would be. :) |
| Aratharn11-10-06, 05:20 PM | i'm 1,86 m tall, weight 100kg the heaviest thing i have ever lifted weighted something around 150 kg when we were boxing in school, i defeated my entire class, because i was faster and had a better technick (we were forbidden to hit hard) i'm an quite fast sprinter (one of the fastest in school) i made some IQ-tests and the lowest i had was 132 (no joke, believe it or not) i like chemists, i'm really good at unterstanding sciences i have absolutly no talent for art i have a deep booming voice and my eyes will always pearce you unless i smile i'm good at handling animals ( no animal attacks unless it's frenzied, and i'm rather good at calming them, my father is a vet ) i can willingly rage i like fighting with 2 swords ok give it a tried, it's a realistic describtion of myself ( this is no joke, everything is real) |
| Gellion11-10-06, 06:57 PM | Hehe, I am not sure I can give a good description of myself, but I would want to be a Deep Imaskari Conjurer.:) |
| Lord Karsus11-11-06, 08:56 PM | -So, let me put a description of myself. I cast my first cantrip at the age of two. I became the youngest Archmage in my empires history. My arcane abilities have yet to be paralleled, or exceeded. I was the deity of magic for a short time! -In actuality, we would all be low level commoners, perhaps with a few of us having expert, warrior, or even aristocrat thrown in liberally. |

| Aratharn11-16-06, 02:34 AM | of course, that would be 6 feet 2 and an half inch (more or less) |
| Karsus the Mad11-16-06, 02:58 AM | -So, let me put a description of myself. I cast my first cantrip at the age of two. I became the youngest Archmage in my empires history. My arcane abilities have yet to be paralleled, or exceeded. I was the deity of magic for a short time! Darn...you beat me...err...I beat you...uhh...we beat eachother to the posting!:P Hmmm...let's see... 5'11", 140-145 pounds. Dark brown hair down to the center point of my back; either free flowing, or bound in a thick braid. Brown eyes with gold speckles. Chiseled features, lean but well defined. I'm a perfectionist, smith, technophile, crafter and dreamer. I take everything I can appart, and try to put it back together in an even more useful format, tho' my interest all too often fails after I've taken something appart. My idea of relaxing is sitting at my workbench with a big mug of beer, a technical book opened up on the stand and me often trying to figure out how I just managed to electrocute myself for the umteenth time that day. Oh, and I've scored a 196 on the WAIS-III IQ test, and have the attention span of a goldfish, which would prolly seriously affect my stats:P |
| BrianCritchley11-16-06, 04:01 AM | I'd be a first level commoner. *is realistic* |
| Delzounblood11-16-06, 11:12 AM | This sounds like fun Here we go I am 5'4" Tall 13 stone Shaven Hair Blue eye's Beard Earing (Stud) I do Boxing and Ju Jitsu I'm scottish I wear a kilt I have been arrested for GBH twice (grievous bodily harm ) and some people say I have an attitude so if you know of something short and angry let me know! PS my char is a Mad Kilt wearing Dwarven Barbarian wanna be Battlerager! |
| Aratharn11-16-06, 12:05 PM | i would like to me you:duel:with you in a :pint:contest , but i think our countries are still to far away (scotland- luxemburg is too far even tough we are both memebers of the EU) i forgot to tell, i have brown hair and my eye color varies between brown and browngreen depending from the lightconditions |
| Max the Immortal11-16-06, 01:44 PM | Realistically, I'd be a level 3 or 4 Bard. Dammit. |
| Aratharn11-16-06, 02:49 PM | i would be a ranger/barbarien |
| Karsus the Mad11-16-06, 08:25 PM | I thought others were suppose to stat us instead of statting ourselves;) Be that as it may, I'm sure I'm a 1st level commoner with the Absent Minded trait:P Tho' I'd really luv to have a level or two in the Lantanese Artificer PrC;) |
| Lord Karsus11-17-06, 12:02 AM | Darn...you beat me...err...I beat you...uhh...we beat eachother to the posting!:P -Don't you just hate when that happens? ;) |
| Spelldancer11-18-06, 01:07 PM | I am thinking a cleric/spelldancer of Lliira who's also a scarlet mummer. I've always been a fan of Lliira, spelldancers, and the Scarlet Mummers have really really interested me since they first came out. |
| Thwyvylyn11-18-06, 01:58 PM | I am 5'10'' and around 125-135 lbs, with very pale skin and shoulder length brown hair. I am a bookworm and a total nerd I have an eidatic memory (photographic more or less) I'm not especially social I can do most anything with a small degree of skill so I'd likely have Able Learner and Jack of All Trades. I'd also have Educated as would most of the rest of you. I'd be an expert probably 4th or 5th level, probably choose Shaundakul or Oghma as patron diety. |
| Delzounblood11-21-06, 05:08 AM | i would like to me you:duel:with you in a :pint:contest , but i think our countries are still to far away (scotland- luxemburg is too far even tough we are both memebers of the EU) i forgot to tell, i have brown hair and my eye color varies between brown and browngreen depending from the lightconditions I actually live in England my parents moved when I was young and now my wife would love to move up there, so maybe one day I will be Laird of my own estate but for now I live with Southerners!!!!! If ever I go to Lux we'll have a sparing match and a drink!!:D Delz |
| Bonzai11-21-06, 10:24 AM | Lets see... I am 5'11 270 lbs Best I can bench is about 350 lbs Did an online IQ test and got 132. I've studied Tai kwan Do and Southern Mantis Kung Fu I've also fenced a bit. I've been classified by my siblings as an evil genius, and my fighting style as that of a "sneaky Bastard". I'm guessing a hexblade or something, lol. |
| Red_Wizard11-21-06, 12:59 PM | Well, considering the character i currently play, is me in every fashion, save minute ones (with the exception i don't cast spells, or randomly blow people up who become annoying) Describing me will cover both characters pretty closely. I'm 6'0", and around 150-155 pounds. Dark curly hair, though i havn't had it for gods knows how long, as i prefer to keep it shaved. Sharp features, apparently accounted to good breeding, though i hardly see it in either of my parents, accented constantly by a wanna be goatee, that i keep as more of a defining feature than anything of real appearence improvement. Dark blue eyes finish up the face at a glance, that seem to catch a persons attention from up to 10 feet away, and urge them to approach, and point it out in eerily dreamy voices. (this tends to play to my favor when looks gifted girls are the ones being lured in :P;)). After that, i'm an extremly physical person. I have done every manner of odd sport, or activity through the years, from Gymnastics and tap dancing, to boxing and football (the list in between is so long i'd be here awhile trying to place it all). Suficit to say, i grew up bitter and angry, and was summarily removed from boxing for fighting outside of it, and like our neighborhood scottsman above, paid a visit to the good ol' arm of the law on more than one occasion :P That being said, i'm more intellectual than physical oriented, and would rather tear someone down verbally and mentally, before having to deal with them in a violent manner (though thuroughly enjoy the latter, depending on the situation and person in question :P) My Favourite colour is Red, always has been, and My Favourite part of the Realms since my first introduction to it has been Thay. So long uninteresting story short, I would be a hot headed Evoker from Thay....And Low and Behold, there is my current character aswell :P:D |
| bayke11-22-06, 10:24 PM | My original gaming group did a campaign once where we played ourselves going through a portal to the Realms. We did pretty well considering we had two former Marines and a former Army Ranger. Instead of us showing up together, we were seperated in the dimensional crossing. One became a Rogue in Waterdeep. One became a Ranger in Daggerford. Another joined up with the Uthgardt and became a Barbarian, while the last wound up as a minor Wizard in the Zhentarim of Darkhold. After playing each of their adventures seperately, they joined forces to stop an attempted Zhent takeover of Daggerford. It was one of our favorite campaigns and the one we still talk about the most on those rare occassions when we get together now. |
| dragonheart11-23-06, 09:56 AM | Ok lets see what I can do about setting your classes and maybe levels: Aratharn: "i'm 1,86 m tall, weight 100kg the heaviest thing i have ever lifted weighted something around 150 kg when we were boxing in school, i defeated my entire class, i made some IQ-tests and the lowest i had was 132 i like chemists, i'm really good at unterstanding sciences i have absolutly no talent for art i'm good at handling animals i can willingly rage i like fighting with 2 swords" ok I see this as being a barbarian with a high Intelligence (13-15) with the 2 weapon fighting feat, the improved unarmed combat feat and a ranks in knowledge:nature . probably about barbarian 1-3. Karsus the Mad: 5'11", 140-145 pounds. I'm a perfectionist, smith, technophile, crafter and dreamer. I take everything I can appart, and try to put it back together in an even more useful format, tho' my interest all too often fails after I've taken something appart. Oh, and I've scored a 196 on the WAIS-III IQ test, and have the attention span of a goldfish. I see this as a very high intelligence (17-19) tinkerer - if you wern't so tall I'd make you a gnome artificer as it it lets make you a lantanese follower of Gond with a base calss of wizard and the effigy mastrer PRC from Complete mage. Delzounblood: 5'4" Tall, 13 stone, I do Boxing and Ju Jitsu I have been arrested for GBH twice (grievous bodily harm ) and some people say I have an attitude ok I can't remember waht a stone is in either pounds or kilograms (20 pounds maybe? so 160 pounds weight) making you fairly short and stocky - so a dwarf monk - maybe with the drunken master PRC Bonzai: I am 5'11, 270 lbs, Best I can bench is about 350 lbs Did an online IQ test and got 132. I've studied Tai kwan Do and Southern Mantis Kung Fu I've also fenced a bit. Ok this I read as a smart (Intell 13-15) monk 1-2/fighter 1-3. Red WIzard: basically you've done it for yourself Me? I've been gaming for over20 years and my favoorite character is myself tossed in to a campaign years ago and played ever since. I'll tell you the stats (if you don't know them from previous posts elsewhere) in a later post but here is a description (age left out): 6' tall, 200 lbs, IQ 140-160 (2100 on GREs) able to live off the land from hunting and wild foods, 8 years of martial arts, some training in fencing and weapons(long sword, foil, katana, knife, shuriken, nunchaku, staff), good with tools, trained as a geologist and geochemist, regular camper adn hiker, SCUBA diver, mountain/rock climbing, Hobbies include History and religion, ceramics, photography, lapidary work and silver/gold smithing, have taught forensic science, physics, chemistry, biology. Raced bicycles and run track and field (mile, 1/4 mile, long jump), world traveler (49 states in US, 4 Canadian Provinces, 6 Mexsican provinces, England, JAmaica, Japan, Formosa, SIngapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar). generally moderately egotiscal know-it -all :D |
| Delzounblood11-23-06, 10:42 AM | Dragonheart re: quote Delzounblood: 5'4" Tall, 13 stone, I do Boxing and Ju Jitsu I have been arrested for GBH twice (grievous bodily harm ) and some people say I have an attitude ok I can't remember waht a stone is in either pounds or kilograms (20 pounds maybe? so 160 pounds weight) making you fairly short and stocky - so a dwarf monk - maybe with the drunken master PRC Hi there, Short and stocky yes I can live with that. Monk - NO Drunk - Yes I see myself more of a battlerager but interesting to hear other peoples view. just to recap I said: This sounds like fun Here we go I am 5'4" Tall 13 stone Shaven Hair Blue eye's Beard Earing (Stud) I do Boxing and Ju Jitsu I'm scottish I wear a kilt I have been arrested for GBH twice (grievous bodily harm ) and some people say I have an attitude so if you know of something short and angry let me know! | dragonheart11-23-06, 10:24 PM | Delzounblood: Ok how about a battlerager with the improved unarmed combat feat and weaponfocus/weapon specialization unarmed combat? Basically I took out all the stuff from each description that I felt didn't help identify class/feat/skills of the potential character. Brian: "I'd be a first level commoner. *is realistic*" perhaps, on the other hand I've been giving this old idea some rethought. While I agree that the vast majority of folks would be commoners the sheer fact that we are generally both young (when we started the game anyway) and like and think in terms of romance and adventure leads me to suspect that many D&Ders would in fact be the sorts to atleast try the PC route in life. Like most adventureres we would probably quite (or be killed) quickly but we would try so its fair to ask the question and treat it with respect and think about how or hobbies, interests, skills, and general background and physique would let us fit into the realms. WHo knows maybe some of us would even survive! |
| DecapitateNecKs11-24-06, 12:27 AM | Seems like fun, And since im new to this i would like other peoples oppinions. 5'11 172 pounds. Im of italian decent, I usually grow my hair long and keep my beard grown(i never shave). I like reading religious books, I have a permit to carry a concealed handgun, but i actually like swords. and have for many a year used 'decapitate necks' as an online name. I dont like music, and usually dont drink. I believe in God, and trying to follow a good standard of morals. I love women, and have the ability to coherse them into bed easily. Although i am shy, i open up to people i choose to. I have a dark side to me, one of terror and rage. One that would persaude me to rape and murder if under the right conditions. I suck at math, but love langauge. Im sarcastic, and am not at all a joke teller. Im quiet, a loner, and am content with the minimal. I dont have any training in martial arts, but have done some wrestling, and love watching the ultimate fighter serious. I do train my body, by lifting weights, and keeping fit. Im concieted, controlling, abusive, yet loving, demanding, and jealous, lazy, but hard working if i like what im doing. Im not afraid of anyone or anything except God, which is more of a fear of what he can do, but hoping he wont do it and loving him by worshipping him. Which would keep me away from astrology, dark magic, and things like this. If I can describe my self in one line it would be from the movie raging bull.. "I dont go down for nobody" |

| DecapitateNecKs11-24-06, 11:38 AM | Out of curiosity what character do you play in a magic oriented fantasy setting like the FR :S Thats the thing, I have never played anything like this before. And only just found out about it by reading r.a salvatores road to patriarch. Then i googled and found out more about d&d.. The only rpgs i have played are computer based, Mostly elder scrolls morrowind and oblivion, and world of warcraft. In elder scrolls games im usually a woodelf theif/archerer, and use little conjuration. Or a nord fighter, long sword heavy armor, all that stuff... IN WoW They had little selection and i mainly used a dark elf. If i had to choose magic i would stick to enchanting, and conjuration or mind control spells over people/animals. All the online test i took turned me into a lawful nuetral half-orc barbarian. and the stat test was Str:12 DEX:14 Con:12 INT:10 WIS:12 CAR:12... Personally i wouldnt pick a half orc or a full orc. |
| Red_Wizard11-24-06, 10:43 PM | i see, well welcome to the realms, and welcome to dnd in general :D |

Blue-green eyes that "light up when I'm thinking" Chesnut/Auburn brown hair (depending on the season) Red beard (barely) Amatuer musician, good story-teller, actor, painter, writer, illustrator. Grew up in the backwoods of the pacific northwest, fishing, bowhunting, etc. great with animals (especially dogs and horses). think about it! |
| Aratharn11-25-06, 03:14 PM | buddy, you are definatly a bard |
| Kytat11-26-06, 02:00 AM | I would be a 5'4" elven woman with reddish brown hair and wild green eyes. With a sliming figure that still seem to be able to take charge. My hair would have branches woven in my braid, carefully for the leaves not to be broken off. I would carry a bow, and be extremely proficient in it due to all the archery lessons in my life and a rapier swinging at my side, because of the pirate like nature that I have. I would have a lot of rogue skills, as for being an actually thief I am too honest and nice for that. Several piercings go down my right ear and only one on my left all small silver rings with a single green golden leaf on them instead of a ball. Plus I would have a Celtic war-band around my left upper arm and a tat of a vine with leaves wrapping around my left arm. I would be wearing browns and greens mostly light leather of animals that I hunted and used all of. I'm very eclectic in my style of character. -DM Kytat |
| Delzounblood11-26-06, 11:21 AM | Delzounblood: Ok how about a battlerager with the improved unarmed combat feat and weaponfocus/weapon specialization unarmed combat? | Roman11-28-06, 03:36 PM | -In actuality, we would all be low level commoners, perhaps with a few of us having expert, warrior, or even aristocrat thrown in liberally. Actually, I disagree. In reality most of us would be experts not commoners. The amount of knowledge anybody with even a Bachelor's degree has; heck perhaps even anybody with just high school education, is easily enough to make one a low level expert if translated into D&D terms. |
| Roman11-28-06, 04:41 PM | OK, I will attempt to 'stat' some people, but I am not so knowledgeable about FR races/creatures/subraces/monsters, regions, culture, geography, deities and PrCs, so if somebody could add those that would be great! Aratharn: Str. 14, Dex. 16?, Con. 14?, Int. 16-17, Wis. 8? , Cha. 13? Class: Barbarian Karsus the Mad: Physical stats ???, Int. 29, Wis, 6? (attent. span), Cha. ? Class: Wizard/Arcane Trickster (high int. + love of tinkering) Note: Not much information to judge your physical stats from... BTW: The intelligence score (for you and for everyone who states their IQ) is calculated from the 196 IQ (using the standard deviation method of comparing statistical spreads), so it is actually the most accurately estimated ability score despite its, in this case, outrageous size. The only way it can be wrong is if the IQ score itself is wrong. That is not for me to judge, of course, I call stats like I see them. I would, however, like to point out that an IQ score of 196 has a frequency of less than 1 in 12.8 billion people (http://members.shaw.ca/delajara/IQtable.html). Since the world has only 6.5 billion people, such an IQ score would make you the smartest person in the world living today. Delzounblood: Rather difficult to do stats, but above average physical stats for certain: Say, Str. 12, Dex. 14, Con. 13, but these are essentially guesses, depending on how 'good' you are at relevant matters they could be slightly lower or much higher. Class: I want to say monk, but I cannot bring myself to do so (the grevious bodily harm...) - maybe an ex-monk, now a barbarian? Thwyvylyn: With an eidatic memory, perhaps you would be an expert or a rogue or a wizard. | GothicDan11-28-06, 09:43 PM | Actually, I disagree. In reality most of us would be experts not commoners. The amount of knowledge anybody with even a Bachelor's degree has; heck perhaps even anybody with just high school education, is easily enough to make one a low level expert if translated into D&D terms. And the question is... How much of the population (of these boards or the world in general) has the education level you're referring to? And of course, there's the fact that I personally think Ranks should not be so tightly defined by character level, because you can increase your ability to do something without necessarily gaining 'a level.' But that's a criticism of the system more than anything else. I guess it's why I've been learning more towards White Wolf's system lately. |
| Roman11-29-06, 08:05 AM | And the question is... How much of the population (of these boards or the world in general) has the education level you're referring to? Well... most people on these boards are from the U.S., where the statistics are as follows: 87% of the population successfully completes highschool education Almost 1/3 of the population successfully optains Bachelor's degrees Of course, we do not know the age distribution and other distribution information about the people on these boards, so it is difficult to generalize from the above figures. Still, they can at least serve as some kind of indication. |
| Yakostovian11-29-06, 08:27 AM | I'd be an aspiring Paladin. No guarantee I would actually be a Paladin though. I wonder if a Paladin or 2 would accept a bribe to allow me to be their squire? :D |

Even that won't work properly, because this is done amongst a survey of people in larger end cities, or larger rural communities, and families of greater income...it doesn't factor in immigrants, exchange students, communities where home school, or no school is practised, or poorer communities, where a finished school career is out of the question. When you look at it from biased standpoint the survey test group is taken from, even from these few examples i've given, you see that the education level is greatly below what those numbers would have you believe. |

The data I used comes from the U.S. Department for Education: http://nces.ed.gov/programs/youthindicators/index.asp?ShowFileName=Introduction.asp Consequently, it should not suffer from the surveying problems that you describe - it is probably a compilation of comprehensive figures rather than a sample-based survey, but even if it were a sample-based study, I am sure the people involved would be expert enough to avoid the pitfalls you mention. I fully acknowledge that these figures are far from a perfect correspondence to the board population, but in the absence of more information they are the only thing I can work with. |
| DM_Shonuff11-29-06, 08:04 PM | You know that stereotypical blacksmith that in his heyday used to be a successful fighter, with tendencies of a thief, then retired when his gut got bigger than his pects...Now all he does is work on swords or other things in the smithy... that'd be me. | Red_Wizard11-30-06, 12:23 PM | The data I used comes from the U.S. No i understand, i just try to avoid any statistics on things such as that, due to the general lack of accuracy that arises via the limited area of study. :) |
| Roman11-30-06, 12:49 PM | Statistics can be funny sometimes and are easily misused, I grant you that much. One must always be very careful with interpreting them. In any case, anybody more knowledgeable in FR lore cares to add races/regions/prestige classes to the people I 'statted' in one of my above posts, or anybody wants to take an attempt at 'statting' myself from my own description or anybody wants to post their descriptions and be 'statted'? Wow, that's what I call a run-on sentence. :D |
| Aratharn11-30-06, 03:21 PM | when i made the test i had an absurd high result of 152 ( i gave the lowest result in my first post remember, well this was the highest) i would give me more strengh (16) and con (16 or more, my mother once told that i was nearly never sick as a child and even when i was i overcame them really a lot faster than most people do,), less dex (11-13) and int (13-14), a great lot more wisdom (16 or more, i have a strong way of unterstanding things, rather than learning them), very difficult to say for the cha, the only thing i can say is that far from being the ugliest man running around |
| Roman11-30-06, 04:23 PM | when i made the test i had an absurd high result of 152 ( i gave the lowest result in my first post remember, well this was the highest) IQ 132 = Int. 16-17 IQ 152 = Int. 20-21 Take your pick, but bear in mind that IQ of online tests is probably not very reliable and that repeating an IQ test is liable to affect your performance. Method of calculation: Int. = 10.5 + (2.9166666... x (IQ - 100) / 15) Assumptions: 1) IQ in real life measures the equivalent of the Intelligence Score in D&D 2) The spread of intelligence in the D&D human population is analogous to that in the real-world human population 3) The IQ test is scored on a scale that has a standard deviation of 15 i would give me more strengh (16) and con (16 or more, my mother once told that i was nearly never sick as a child and even when i was i overcame them really a lot faster than most people do,), I assigned the strength figure based on the maximum weight you can lift and comparing it to the chart in the Player's Handbook, so Str. 14 should be pretty accurate. You may be right about Con., though, you did not really give me a lot of information to base my figure on. less dex (11-13) Again, you probably know better - I did not have much information, except that you are faster than most in your class. and int (13-14), See my comments above. a great lot more wisdom (16 or more, i have a strong way of unterstanding things, rather than learning them), very difficult to say for the cha, the only thing i can say is that far from being the ugliest man running around Fair enough - I was working with a very limited information set, so some of these were wild guesses more than anything else. |
| Aratharn12-01-06, 01:01 PM | by the way, it was the first i made but you are right, it can be learned and it was also a bit of luck speaking in game terms, it's a rather a combination of int and wis, wisdom to understand it and intelligence to keep it in mind my capabilitie to evade attaks has more to do with focus and fast appropiet reaction to the attack, i learned to evade |
| allen7312-01-06, 01:11 PM | Well lets see.. My world world stats: 6'1 235lbs Blonde Hazel eyes Training: Army Combatives,FMA(Fillipino Martial Arts)Muay Thai,BJJ and a lot of Ching Ching Pow Experience: Been to Iraq twice does that count? So I quess i would be either a Ranger(Justifier)or a Wild Barbarian. |
| Aratharn12-01-06, 01:17 PM | or both, damn you are a born fightingmachin:OMG! was Iraq as horrible as the medias make us believe? |
| empty12-03-06, 04:41 AM | A wizard, higly probably. Chaotic Neutral, and probably using most of my time in Candlekeep, reading, or around Faerun searching for rare books to pay the Candlekeep people to let me in... And i guess i would probably be in better health than in real-life, because of all my wandering. Or i would be dead at the age of 6, reason: Blown up by one of my own magic spells. |
| Deus_ex_Invictus12-04-06, 12:48 AM | Realisticly? I would probably be your average human commoner content to live my life peacefully. |
| Roman12-06-06, 02:19 PM | No longer relevant |
| Telagaunt12-07-06, 05:04 PM | I would be Ao. |
| JaiaDrottsingr12-09-06, 10:19 AM | Surprisingly, not a drow. In a world like that, I'd rather be one of the natives of Baldur, living peacefully, working in a thieves' guild, (Stealin' a couple thousand Fabrege eggs while I'm at it), aiming for the title of... What the %$^+ do they call a commoner of nobility?! |
| Yorath_theWolf12-09-06, 11:49 AM | hmmm, well I'm 5'10", I've saddly gone from 'stocky' to 'fat basterd', had hair down to my arse, that since got lopped off to just past shoulder length after a bout of sleep deprivation inspired rage. I have a beard that I keep trimmed neat and close to my face for the most part. ... well let's face it, if the beard were longer, wilder, and coarser I'd be a dead-ringer for old 'Grizzly Adams'. as for what I'd be... hmmm this is tougher. I have an intence love of books and learning, but generally hate a regimented learning environment. I lack the disipline, drive, and devotion to be either a Wizard or Cleric. so I'd say that I'd be a Expert/Sage... either the NPC class or the UA generic class. the focus of my studies would likey be History, Local Lore, Alchemy(what can I say? when I was young and dumb I had a facination with 'kitchen chemistry'), & exploration/spelunking(so minors in Dungineering and climbing). |
| Steropes12-10-06, 03:56 AM | If we whould look at my age I whould be 1-2 lvl wizard. I've got no idea where whould I live, but becose I'm elf in test, I thing perhaps in Evermeet, but I'd be leaving soon for a big adventure to Faerun. As for stats str 10, Dex 14, Con 13, Int 16, Wis 11 and Cha 15(or at lest in some tests). |
| Weiser_Cain12-10-06, 04:51 AM | Weiser_Cain 5’ 6” I weigh between 130 to 170 lbs (headed down at the moment) Fairly dark skin Solidly built, I am squat looking when heavy (unless next to a truly heavy specimen then I look thinish no matter what) and almost always mean looking (or so I’m told, I’m thinking!). Hair and beard shave off to near nothing and forgotten (think criminal in Miami vice) Scarred knuckles and black nail polish. I’m stronger and faster than I look. I’d say I’m pretty smart and very forgetful; I have put my hand in fire. I think I have a better than average charisma though my dating record says otherwise. I don’t believe in anything but myself and I wish I were a seventeenth level vampire Wizard. Ok that last one isn’t fair. |
| Diffan12-10-06, 02:00 PM | Hmm.....I'll give it a go..... I'm 6'4" and roughly 280lbs with blonde hair and hazel eyes. Used to have a goatee but my job requires me to be clean shaven. I like to think i'm athletic (10 years of football will do that) and I try to work out. I practice fighting once every tenday(sunday...and if the weathers nice) and love the sword/board and or Greatsword style fightning. I try to attend church on the same tenday and have a holy symbol tattooed on my arm. My intelligence is average (100 on the IQ test) and I did so-so in my studies. In school, I was a captain of the football team so I have some leadership skills and I think my CHA is pretty high. All in all, I think that if I was a little more devout I could make a pretty good 1st level Paladin. I have a love for justice and law and hope to be a police officer in the near future. What's more paladin-ish than that? |
| Aratharn12-10-06, 02:25 PM | you would definatly be a paladin or a justiciar (prc from Total Warrior) or just a devote lawfull good fighter str:14 dex:14 con:16 ini:10 wis:10 char:16 (difficult to say for wisdom) leadership feat perhaps? |
| Diffan12-10-06, 06:49 PM | you would definatly be a paladin or a justiciar (prc from Total Warrior) or just a devote lawfull good fighter str:14 dex:14 con:16 ini:10 wis:10 char:16 (difficult to say for wisdom) leadership feat perhaps? lol, thanks. Though I'm THAT dexterious. I'd put it more at like 12. As for Wisdom, people say I have more common sense than book smarts, so i'm thinking Wis 12. |
| Penknight12-10-06, 07:01 PM | My friends and I have actually asked this before of each other, (Just ask Steelwind). Sadly, I too would be a bard, and I took the Skill Emphasis feat in oratory or storytelling (not sure as to which). Man, if only I could be a 1st Edition bard... If I had my preference, I would be an elven bladesinger though. :D |
| Mocab12-10-06, 07:02 PM | Hammer of Morodin 18 str 16 con 16 dext 12 int 11 wis 9 char |
| NinjaBartender12-11-06, 09:17 AM | Personally, if i had been born in the FR universe, i suspect i'd have been an Elf with my overall attitude towards life and nature...a Wood Elf at that. Though if i got to choose, i'd definetely become a Shade later in life. With my own build realistically looking something like: Ranger 6/Ninja 3 Just without any spell-like effects, and specializing in Archery...as it is one of my passions. And yes, having actually trained in Ninjitsu, i can legitimately claim the right to pick Ninja, haha. I'm utterly Chaotic Neutral too, and likely would choose someone like Shevarash or potentially Mask as my diety. As for stat's, i remember taking 2 fairly accurate tests on OkCupid before that i felt summed things up fairly well: 17 STR 17 DEX 13 CON 16 WIS 18 INT 14 CHA You guys might like them as well, here they both are...split into Physical 1st and Mental attributes 2nd: http://www.okcupid.com/tests/take?testid=15065983258789143295 http://www.okcupid.com/tests/take?testid=18114051962113041969 |
| dragonheart12-11-06, 11:25 PM | just a reminder and then some comments: reminder - the original poster asked you to submit description and then others of us would determine stats, classes, feats, skills, level etc comments: early on I said I would post the chracter that is me but has been adventuring since 1979-1980 in the D&D universe. Original Stats were: S) 16, D)18 C)17 I)17 W)17 Ch)12 - these were established by the DM at the time based on his impressions of me and my my skills and abilities then (at about age 22). THe character was established then as a level 3 monk level 3 ranger dual classed human. Today after much adventuring he is: S) 28 D)32 C)31 I)33 W)27 Ch)25 Monk 3/Ranger 16/WIzard 16/Archmage 3 with the Phrenic template and DR0 now if only I could be that good in real life :D |
| Roman12-14-06, 01:49 PM | just a reminder and then some comments: reminder - the original poster asked you to submit description and then others of us would determine stats, classes, feats, skills, level etc Yes, indeed, that was the intention. :) |
| Weiser_Cain12-14-06, 09:10 PM | Yeah, so stat away already |

| msatran12-16-06, 03:48 PM | I would be Ao so I could remove all the out of theme stuff that Richard Baker added. |
| GothicDan12-18-06, 11:43 AM | MSATRAN! COUGH! You forgot a few people. |
| GothicDan12-18-06, 11:48 AM | Um... The OKCupid Mental test said that I had a 45 Intelligence..... Glitch much? (OR MAYBE I'M JUST THAT GOOD!) |
| msatran12-18-06, 12:53 PM | Yeah, but everything not done by Richard Baker is relatively nitpicky. The few minor errors that Elaine made Elaine ADMITTED were errors, Dan. There are times when Ed just goes "Oops, that's an error, now I'll have to fix it." Let's take a look at his achievements. The Shadow Weave, the bastard child of The Birthright Campaign Setting. This just flat out doesn't belong here. The City of Shade. Unless someone kills the flying city by 1377, Telamont Tanthul casts "Take over the world" from his bedroom and the world ends. Araevin Teshurr and the crackmonkey crusade. If I ever write a piece of PUBLISHED text where the villain's last words are "NO!...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" may I be crucified upon a cross of Faulkner, Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, and George Eliot, among others. This wasn't just bad. It was awful. And now, it conflicts with all the stuff they're doing with the tearing of the weave/scouring of the land stuff next year. I can't IMAGINE the elves sitting still while something happens to their precious weave. Favored Class is Wizard for a reason. I remember when being 12th level in the Realms was a big deal. Now it seems like being 12th level means you are a mote in the eyes of the gods. |
| GothicDan12-18-06, 12:56 PM | How dare you infer I would ever disparage Elaine or Ed! ;) But, still, there's a few other designers around that I dislike the work of. I won't go into names... And, actually, we shouldn't be talking about this at all.... HEY EVERYONE! I HAVE AN INT OF 45!!!! |
| Weiser_Cain12-18-06, 05:02 PM | ...The City of Shade. Unless someone kills the flying city by 1377, Telamont Tanthul casts "Take over the world" from his bedroom and the world ends. What happens in 1377? ...Araevin Teshurr and the crackmonkey crusade...it conflicts with all the stuff they're doing with the tearing of the weave/scouring of the land stuff next year. I can't IMAGINE the elves sitting still while something happens to their precious weave. Favored Class is Wizard for a reason. OK, who is this and what coming events are you talking about? ...I remember when being 12th level in the Realms was a big deal. Now it seems like being 12th level means you are a mote in the eyes of the gods. I think this is as it should be what with the strong, strong influence the gods have in FR. Unless you try to keep your head down you should expect a visit from the gods once you can kill a city single handed... |
| msatran12-19-06, 12:44 AM | What happens in 1377? He finally gets enough days under his belt to research and cast that epic "Take over the world" spell. He's a 35th level caster. There's no reason he can't dominate everyone on the planet with the right spell research. This is the problem with epic spellcasting. If your GM can think of it, or your PC's can think of it, the NPC's can do it too. And he's probably got every magic item in the game that he requires, so the save DC for this effect will probably be something like 50. So 5 percent of the world will not be under his control, because of the 1 in 20 rule. That's a pretty weak opposition. Okay, so you didn't read "The Farthest Reach" Novels. No spoilers are allowed here. Suffice to say that Richard Baker effectively ruined the single best adventuring location in the game for a mess of pottage, created scads of confusion that conflicts with every other major group in the area, and just plain flat-out does not function. As to your last point, that would be true except that this rule DOESN'T always work. Some PC's are special, and get visits from the gods all the time. Unfortunately, these people are rarely YOUR player characters. Cadderly, Midnight (Who became Mystra), and various other NPC's in the books get special treatment and writers fiat, plus a ton of abilities your PC's will never get, because we're playing a game and they're writing books. BUT, this also means that some players feel that their PC sucks unless they get the same kind of treatment from the gods that the people in the novels do. Players want to feel special. But in the Realms, that gets harder and harder with every passing year. |
| Roman01-07-07, 01:39 PM | Another round of statting - my internet connection was down due to the Taiwan earthquake - hence the delay. Duedaine: Str: 14 Dex: 12 Con: 18 (judging from the time to run a mile) Int: 12 Wis: 10 Cha: 11 Race: Somebody more familiar with FR should decide Class: Fighter Diffan: Str: 16 Dex: 11 Con: 15 Int: 10-11 Wis: 16 Cha: 17 Race: Somebody with more knowledge of FR should add this Class: Paladin (just as you said) Weiser Cain: Str: 11 Dex: 11 Con: 11 Int: 13 Wis: 11 Cha: 13 (would be higher but for the dating record comments) Race: Somebody more familiar with FR should add this Class: Probably a charisma-based rogue |
| Roman01-07-07, 01:40 PM | Reposted further down... |
| Weiser_Cain01-07-07, 07:37 PM | I'd be an Wizard. I'd then track down a young adult red dragon, defeat him or her with my magic and transfer my soul into the body, stick my body in stasis and sit back and enjoy my new freedom. |
| Mesraic01-07-07, 09:17 PM | Arathan...to answer your question about Iraq being as bad as the media makes it out to be. No its not. I went twice while I was in the Army as an Infantry man. Honeslty I'd say 9 out of 10 people there are happy to see us. My Info: 24 years old 6'1 235lbs roughly High school diploma and some college Wrestled for four years in high school and 1 year in college Learned alot about grappling and submission fighting in the army Was in the army for 3 years as a parachute infantry man, took over the security and maitanecne of our Arms Room (weapon and combat gear storage room) before leaving the army. Currently in the police academy training to become a police officer. Ive never had a problem making friends and keeping them, and while I wouldnt call my self a Don wan (not sure on spelling) I've been fairly successfull in relationships. I cant remember my IQ and I do horrible on any standized test, but I understand higher level concepts fairly easily. I wouldnt even know how to judge my wisdom, but honestly Id say fairly low. I'm stronger then the average person but not as strong as somenoe with my backround should have. My hand eye cordination is rather good, I took to hand to hand combat fairly easily, as well as marksmenship. And I almost never get sick and recover very quickly. Also in grappling matches/submission fighting I typically can out endurance my opponent even if they may be stronger or faster or better skilled. |
| Wellin_Adipocere01-08-07, 11:46 PM | After taking the D&D tests i might actually want to be a bard, Str:13 Wis:14 Con:13 Dex:13 Cha:17 I had no idea I was so charming;) This leads me to question the accuracy of these tests.:) |
| GothicDan01-09-07, 12:06 AM | My Dexterity, at least, is accurate from the tests.. *Points at sig.* |
| Leaflord01-14-07, 01:39 PM | I would be... A level one commoner hanging out in Ashabenford, hunting rabits, fishing and growing weeds. I would be well baked sitting in taverns, or town square listening too stories, ocationally trying too chase a dryad, and staying clear of the deeper forrest. Yup, that's as realistic it would get. |
| ZolDarklock01-16-07, 12:57 AM | I would be the most important man on the planet, I known how to design a toilet :D |
| Weiser_Cain01-16-07, 04:30 AM | Hot damn! Someone make this man king! |
| Roman01-18-07, 05:39 PM | Next batch of statting is here (BTW: anybody interested in taking a stab at statting my own description?): Mesraic: Class: Fighter 8/Monk 2 (I generally avoid mentioning levels, but due to your experience, I think you would be of a significantly higher level than is usual, hence the mention.) Stats: Str. 16 Dex. 15 Con. 16 Int. 12 Wis. 8 (It can't be all that bad if you are willing to admit it is low ;) ) Cha. 13 Race: Please, somebody with more knowledge of FR, fill this in Region, etc.: Again, please, somebody with more knowledge of FR, fill this in |
| Roman01-21-07, 05:41 PM | No longer relevant |
| Roman01-25-07, 08:30 AM | Final bump: Just hoping that somebody will find the time and try to discern also my stats. |
| fraxil01-29-07, 12:02 PM | I'll list a few facts about myself and try to assign myself a stat score for them...feel free to agree/disagree! About halfway through grad school but with modest grades, quick learner ->INT=15 Known for being levelheaded, friends come to me for advice often -> WIS=12 Few close friends, but very loyal -> CHA=9 Enjoy hiking, camping, don't mind cold weather, rarely sick -> CON=12 Ran track in high school, quick learner in hand-eye videogames, fair shot with a gun -> DEX=14 Bench press about 220, leg press about 450 -> STR=14 As far as personality I think I'm definitely CG and would probably follow Shaundakul in the Realms since I love travelling and being outdoors. I'm not sure what class I would be though, any suggestions? -Fraxil |
| Wellin_Adipocere01-31-07, 02:01 PM | Roman, I am new at trying to stat people but for the sake of this thread I'll try my best. Due to your size and experience in physical activites i would assign STR:13 Due to your life experience(travels and places lived)(although i don't know your age) i would assign WIS:15 Due to your impressive education, great marks, and languages known i would assign INT: 17 Due to your own statement of poor dexterity i would assign a DEX: 9 Due to your healthy habits and size and dexterity i would assign a CON:15 As for charisma you seem to write very well and have a large vocabulary and the ladies love those blue eyes, i will assign a CHA:14 I would place you in FR as a Human Cleric who has great potential to be a politician and leader of a group or settlement. Decent stats! |
| Wellin_Adipocere01-31-07, 02:05 PM | Fraxil, I would suggest with your INT, WIS, and DEX stats that you be a monk. You seem to have the focus and strength as well and would be fine travelling on your own. |
| Rasputen_Bel_Kuhr02-01-07, 11:28 PM | Hello I'm 50 kilograms 5' 10'' (I think as I'm almost 6' and i can't find big enough ruler) I'm an academic and my minimum score on the computer iq tests is 140 (note that while most of them don't go over 140 any of the computer 'quizzes' for your iq cannot accurately gauge over 100 and under 90 so anything outside this range is merely above average or below average with slight approximation of how above or below My mental age is 25 and don't ask my physical i'm getting too OLD ach. I love knowing things for the sake of knowing but i also only tell others when it isn't alot of effort. I used to have a good singing voice but now i have a horrid one but i like singing nonetheless. I've studied Tae Kwon Do,(and was good at it) Kung Fu and Qui Gong. Also i'm good at fiddling with things and getting them to work I think I'd be a multiclass bard/wizard/loremaster/gnome artificier/monk and possibly expert and aristocrat I would like to be a person possessing an individual power the likes of which have not been seen in the realms or anywhere else - Muahahhahah(and that's including Karsus and Ao) but I think I'd be a multiclass bard/wizard/loremaster/gnome artificier/monk and possibly expert and aristocrat |
| stugiiig02-04-07, 08:40 PM | Did the cupid test and got: Str 13, Con 14, Dex 11, Int 17, Wis 16, Cha 15. Hmmm ... I think that might be fairly close to what I really am. My gut says with those stats I'd make a good Cleric/Wizard. |
