What kind of models do u guys use to play with. I use warhammer models but its kinda hard to find a good halfling or mind flayer in warhammer. Got any suggestions?

Same here, same problem too. We have also been using models from Hero Quest.

I use the D&D minnis. They may not look as good as a wellpainted warhammer minni, but they are nice for us lazyboys who can't stand painting.

Also, I can knock them over when they are dead, so that they can either regenerate, or just be a problem for the pcs. (It should be hard to walk over a dead body)

I now use the D n D mini's, which i think are great, and improving with each new release. I also have a fair collection of old citadel miniatures and Ral partha mini's. I still order the occasional Ral partha miniature, but these are normally for Player character figures.

We mostly use the D&D minis. Before that we used Reaper minis (which we still use depending on the monster). Although we do use Warhammer for undead since there's so many of them.

Reaper Miniatures is a good line. They are roughly at the same scale as the D&D minis too.

You can go to their home page here. (http://www.reapermini.com/store/customer/home.php)
They have at least two different mind flayers.

The D&D minis are great because they don't need painting and they are pretty cheap (since it's plastic not metal). I bought several on ebay to make sure I had "playsets" of orcs, goblins, skeletons, etc.

I use a lot of different minis. I have gotten some of the DnD mini's. I was lucky to get one of the ancient red dragons (no, I will not sell it). I've found that you can buy many of the common ones online or at local hobby shops for as little as 12 for a dollar. Of course, these are ones that are common. I actually needed to have about a dozen koa-toa for the last adventure that I ran.

I've also found that MageKnight figures are great. There are some good ones that are DIRT CHEAP. There are ones called tribal brute (http://www.mageknight.cz/galerie/unlimited/imgs/U120.gif) that are perfect for ogres. They are quite tall and easily take up 10ft on the maps. There are a lot of other common (and therefor cheap) Mage Knight figures for characters. You just need to clip the plastic base to fit the map you play in. You really can get a a tribal brute for about 25-cents. I mean, what better way to get 10 ogres that you really might use one day? Also, I have found a few mounted figures cheap, too.

I've used Warhammer figures for a lot of things. I mean, everone has had a need for a dozen skeletons, and what better way then by using the skeleton Warhammer pack? Also, tons of goblins and orcs that just beat the snot out of any other type of mini company. And everone can use them. You are right about the monster types, though.

Rackham, a french company do a top notch series of miniatures for their 'Confrontation' and 'Ragnarok' wargames. The figures are just superb and cover a good deal of the fantasy races that you want to represent in DnD (although 1/2lings and gnomes would be difficult.)
Go check em out.
