The Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting (FRCS), which was printed in 2001, is 3.0. Many of the "cruchy bits" (e.g., PrCs, spells, etc) of the FRCS have, since then, been updated in the Player's Guide to Faerun (PGtF) which is 3.5 compatible.

That said the FRCS is invaluable for 3rd edition Forgotten Realms play, since it contains a lot more information than simply Prestige Class stats and spells. If you plan on playing in the Realms, you'll need the FRCS.

You may want to look at buying the FRCS and the PGtF discounted on Amazon.com, or perhaps in used condition on eBay.

Good luck.

*sigh* i have the 3.5 DM's screen, do i have to /should i get the faerun one? It's not necessary as such, but it is useful. There's no reason why you can't just add certain relevant FR tidbits to your 3.5e DM's screen and keep it as that.
