What happens with Drow stuff (like weapons, cloaks, boots, amulets....) on the surface world? In AD&D it was so that they lose their (magical) abilities after a time and also disperse possibly. How is it in the third Edition?

In 2nd Edition it was so, that a Drow loose his magical spell talents (feari fire....) on the surface world, in third edition, it is not so. How is it with the stuff?

Thanks, an again, sorry fpr my terrible english :-)

Apparently the powers that be decided that it was 'unfair" for players to have limited use of any magical equipment they claim (ie it will disintergrate in sunlight) so it was changed when 3ed came out and now drow equipment doesnt disintergrate in Sunlight.

The Realmslore reason why this change happaned is that Liriel Baenre used an artifact called the Windwalker to make it so she could use her drow equipment and magic on the surface without them turning to dust when exposed to sunlight apparently the artifact was so powerful that it didnt just do it for her it did it all the drow. (See Elaine Cunninghams Drow trilogy of novels for the full story)

The Underdark sourcebook has that ability for those of us who want to keep the drow decay for items. :)

I think 3e just changed it so most drow nobles and such using magical equipment were using real magical stuff, not generic radiation-made stuff. The drow have incredible magical power and would have no problem mass producing real stuff, so I've never seen a real point to the radiated stuff that disintigrates. I think this was a good change. But as Kuje said, there is a thing in the Underdark that talks about drowcraft or something which is the equipment made from the radiated ore that will still disintigrate.
