| Deavek_Arkel11-16-06, 01:49 AM | Probably been discussed before, but what the heck, what is your favorite Realms PC? Give a little info. to the rest! I shall start off (I Have two). | Lord Karsus11-17-06, 01:27 AM | Daerian Sunstar Wizard 6 / Loremaster 10 Alignment: Lawful Neutral Deity: Labelas Enoreth Race: Sun Elf Location: Evermeet -This is the only FR-specific character I have ever made. -Daerian Sunstar was once an a strapping young lad who went looking for adventure on mainland Faerūn. Being a student and scholar of Elven history, Daerian made it has goal to learn as much as he could about Elven life on Faerūn in the present, as well as in the past. Upon returning to Evermeet as an elderly Elf, he expected to simply answer the call to Arvandor at first chance. However, he was appointed to an important task by Queen Amlauril- something that obviously changed his plans. Currently, he is penning his final text, which has the working title, Elves of Faerūn (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=732165). |
| Alediran11-17-06, 07:58 AM | Alediran Tir'ent Wizard 5/Elemental Savant (air) 1 Alignment: Chaotic Good Deity: Aerdrie Faenya Race: Sun Elf Location: Somewhere on Faerūn - Alediran Tir'ent is the youngest member of House Tir'ent, a noble clan who dedicates his life to the exploration of all Faerūn and to discover unusual ways of The Art. His greatest dream is to find the Aryfaern'Kerym of Cormanthyr and the other lost blades in order to restore the Lost Realm. P.D: this is Alediran at 1372 DR. I still need to advance the campaign to make him reach 1374 DR. |
| Raelan_Harpell11-17-06, 04:37 PM | Raelan Harpell Transmuter 16/Rogue 1/Archmage 4/Lifespinner 7 Alignment: Chaotic Good Deity: Mystra Race: Illuskan/Netherese Human Location: The High Forest, Waterdeep, Silver Marches, Sword Coast North Raelan is a long-running character that began play at first level during 2nd Edition, before the Players Option books were released. He's since been migrated through Players Option to 3.0 and now to 3.5. Born to a wizard of the Harpell clan and a sorceress of the Farsea Marshes, Raelan was orphaned at the tender age of four while he and his family were traveling through Kara Tur. His parents hid him in the bushes while their caravan was attacked by an exceptionally large and strong group of bandits. A wandering mage, a student of both Eastern and Western methods of magic, came upon the scene of the slaughter, found Raelan, and raised him as his own. During his time with the old man, Raelan's natural aptitude for the Weave became clear, and he was taken on as an apprentice. Later, at 16, Raelan was orphaned again when one of his master's rivals came calling and his master destroyed himself to defeat his foe and save his apprentice, whom he attempted to send away to a friend via a translocation spell. The teleport was twisted in the magical chaos caused by Raelan's master's dying spell (which was akin to Mycontil's Last Resort), and Raelan woke to find himself in a glen in the Dalelands. Wandering about in a strange land with no one to guide him, Raelan travelled from hamlet to hamlet as a wandering mage, casting spells for hire and barely scraping together enough money to get by. When he came upon a group of young adventurers forming up in a tavern, he joined up with them and began a long and varied adventuring career. Some of his deeds of note include: the destruction of a lich who was attempting to control one of the primordial evils of Faerun and use it to exact revenge upon certain personages in Waterdeep; an incident involving the Thayan capital of Eltabbar, a slave revolt, ten barrels of smokepowder emplaced on the rooftops of various governmental buildings, and a wand-wielding, dragon-riding mage; an unwilling visit to the Demiplane of Dread; and assisting a king reclaim his throne in a far-off land. Most recently, rumors speak of an abduction by the Mad Mage of Undermountain and the exaction of a task Raelan was required to perform. In personality, Raelan tends to be cool and distant, with a forceful, forthright demeanor and keen insight. Having lost everyone he's ever loved to one calamity or another, he doesn't grow close to others easily. Over the years, magic and the Weave have been mother, father, wife, and child to him, but he's slowly beginning to realize that Mystra teaches her followers to be a part of the world, not apart from it. That being the case, he is likely to become less distant over time. In appearance, Raelan is of medium height and build, has piercing emerald green eyes, and keeps his hair and beard short. He tends to wear black robes with thread-of-silver runes on the hems, accompanied by black, calf-high steel-reinforced boots on his feet and mithral bracers on his forearms. He likewise has a thin mithral circlet on his brow and several rings on his fingers. He is generally seen with two matching daggers on his belt and a staff of ash in his hands. As a side note, the Lifespinner prestige class is a home brew class that allows an epic mage to power his spells with his own life-force at need, allowing the casting of magic in dead- and wild-magic zones. This is not without cost (in hitpoints), so it is done rarely. |
| Diffan11-21-06, 01:35 PM | Sir Marcus D'Arch Paladin 10/Divine Champion 5 Alignment: LG Deity: Torm Race: Tethyrian Human Location: Sword Coast North, Neverwinter (presently) Marcus was the only child of an over the hill knight named Maedak and his wife Tesseln. He was born in 1345, Year of the Saddle DR on the summer solstice and though his family was happy with joy, strife was soon to come. Later that summer, while venturing back from a trip to the coast, Maedak was waylaid by brigands on the road and murdered. Marcus's mother grieved for her husband and in the fall of that year, a plague came to the Sword Coast. His mother, who was so distraught from sorrow, succumed to the plague and died. Left in the streets of Velen by a distant relative only weeks later, the child had no chance to survive for it was soon turning into winter. By divine intervention, so say the clerics, a goodly person who was devout in his belief to the Triad found the child. Not knowing what to do, and having four children of his own, Goodman Steelheart took the babe to the closest church of the Triad he could find, a small temple devoted to Torm. The temple took the child in, praying thanks to Torm for his guiding hand in this child's life. The only identification the child had was a name sewn into the bundle's cloth, Marcus. The next eighteen years was hard for Marcus. The clerics had told him of his tale when he was able to understand it, and he always wondered who his parents were. Though a daydreamer, he was fierce in the practice ring and devout in his prayers. He trained hard and studied long under the tutelage of the clerics and was ready to become one as well. The day of his pledge to the clergy, he was gifted with the presence of Torm, and the image said to him that his was a life of valor and courage. To flourish good and destroy evil and bring peace through out the land. When the vision ended, the clergy was astounded by the words of Torm. It was then that they knighted him and proclaimed him the first paladin from that temple in over one hundred years. Within the month, the now newly named Sir Marcus, was armored and armed and riding about the country side slaying brigands and monsters, helping the needy, and curing the sick. He stayed in Tethyr for a few years after his knighting ceremony, thinking that he was to say there and do Torm's will, but visions of vast country sides, large lakes, the coast and sea, and grand cities filled his dreams. When he related this to his brothers of the clergy, they said that it was time for him to explor the world, see the sights of Faerun, and do good where evil and corruption stalk the goodly folk. The next day he left and though saying good bye was hard, he knew he was destined for great things and good deeds. He rode north in search of glory and adventure. Sir Marcus has fought in many battles along the Sword Coast North, Waterdeep, the Silver Marches, and in the Western Heartlands. He's befriended many people and offers his services to many for good and just causes. Currently he's in Neverwinter, helping Lord Alagondar with troubles concerning the lords fair town. Sir Marcus is tall in stature, towering over six feet in height and weighing roughly two hundred pounds..(un-armored). His massive frame is protected by lightweight plate mail that shines like newly polished silver (given to him by friends from the Knights of Silver of Silverymoon). He carries a Justice Blade, a greatswords forged by clerics of Torm and inscribed with the hammer and scales symbol of Tyr. His demeanor is friendly and kind, and he always has a smile on his face. In times of strife and battle, he's quick with a prayer and quicker with his sword, smiting evil for the cause of good. |
| wesleytj11-22-06, 04:08 PM | Zygor "Twitch" Waylyn Class/Lvl: Sorceror 19 Alignment: CN Favorite Spell: Sphere of Annihiliation (Magic of Faerun) Zygor Waylyn, known forever to his companions as "Twitch", much to his dismay. He was born in the city of Neverwinter, and was banished from the city at the age of 14 for accidentally killing his drunken father, in defense of himself and his mother, upon whom he was beating. It was a notable noble family, and the event made for big news in Neverwinter at the time. Zygor is human but his father had suspicions about him being illegitimate, and in fact this is true but by accident. It seems a person with very good disguise and possible shapechange ability, and with traces of draconic blood in his veins, impersonated Zygor's father, fooling his mother. The resulting draconic influence is likely what has given Zygor both his slightly otherworldly and very striking appearance, as well as his latent magical ability. This ability manifest itself for the first time that night, with Zygor casting his first spell on his father. Everyone was shocked by the event, including Zygor, and he did not intend to kill his father. But indeed that is exactly what happened. His mother, always the prim and proper type, and worried about town opinion, did not appreciate the act, and told him to leave Neverwinter and never come back, or she'd report him to the city guard. Stricken with remorse, self doubt, and grief, both over what he had done, and his mother's reaction, he was left wandering the realms and pondering his future. He decided then and there to dedicate himself to controlling his magic and using it to his advantage to make up for the trouble it caused him in his youth. He is therefore a walking contradiction. Beautiful, yet outcast. Noble, but poor, and exiled and shunned by his family and city. Well educated at the Neverwinter Academy for gifted youth, but lacking in street smarts. Even when he did indeed become one of the most powerful people in the entire forgotten realms, he still seemed ill at ease with himself, his past, and in fact his own nature. He has since driven himself a little bit crazy, and is prone to occasional outburst where he completely loses control of himself. He will start screaming and charge a dangerous creature with his quarterstaff (which he has named "Barkov") despite the fact that he is much more dangerous when using spells. During these moments, he can be heard screaming at the top of his lungs at the beast, mostly unintelligible rantings, but also taunting the creature, and occasionally calling it "Alinor", his father's name, though his companions don't know that. What they do know is that it is a VERY unwise move to let him hear you call him "Twitch" on days like that. He has been known to attack PC's after a warning or two for that. Once the beast is dead (usually by the acts of his companions more than that himself), he will continue beating it with Barkov until he is completely exhausted, at which point he will fall to the ground sobbing, and is completely inconsolable for a good hour or so. He then finds the nearest bar/inn and drinks himself silly, and even though he is seen drinking alone all night, the next morning he invariably comes downstairs for breakfast with an attractive young female under his arm. (It really pays to have 24 charisma.) I've never had so much fun with any character, in any roleplaying environment, ever. |
| Odimax11-25-06, 04:38 AM | Smirk S'milee Rogue 9/Assassin 3 Alignment Chaotic Good Deity Mask Race Illuskan Human Home Region The Sword Coast (Luskan, "The City of Sails") Group Affiliation The Heroes of Duvik's Pass Smirk is a deadly assassin with the ability to kill in the blink of an eye. As one of the rare few good-aligned assassins in Faerun, he is a valuable ally to those who oppose the forces of evil. In addition, this dashing young rogue is an accomplished trapsmith whose tumbling skill and sneak attack ability make him a dangerous opponent. Smirk is perhaps best known as a temperamental daredevil, but he also possesses a good heart and generously protects innocent citizens from villainy. Leaving behind a dubious life of thievery in the Sword Coast city of Luskan, Smirk S’milee opted for the rewards that only the life of an adventurer could provide. While making his way toward the Moon Sea in search of adventure, Smirk befriended sorcerer Magie Falconion and warrior Melaine Starfire. Soon after, the trio founded The Heroes of Duvik’s Pass, an adventuring group known for its amazingly heroic deeds. Tribal shaman Cale Nodin later became good friends with Smirk, and is now a trusted member of this group as well. The Heroes of Duvik’s Pass were last seen stomping evil monstrous ass all over Cormyr. Update: Smirk was recently killed by the evil wizard Ratakos, an archenemy of The Heroes of Duvik's Pass. In the afterlife, Mask controls Smirk's fate, and the two are currently in negotiations to restore Smirk to his mortal form. |
| Siridar11-26-06, 01:43 PM | Siridar Waverider Fighter 7/5 Divine Champion/1 Holy Liberator Alignment Chaotic Good Deity Hlal/Corellon Larethian Race Half moon elf/Bronze Dragon Home Region Evereska Siridar was born to an elven noble by the name of Mariti Brightblade and the Mighty Bronze dragon Kahstallayn. He was a mixed blessing among the family for he was a union between two powerful forces for good and he was also quite apparant not an elf. He was born looking much like a dragon he had the body type and wings of a dragon and a light bronze sheen to his scales. He had eye's like an elf and learned to speak elven quite well. Siridar was shunned as a child by the other children but his mother and father and immediate family gave him the support and love he craved, still he wanted more. He learned to sneak around and hide and not been seen. He grew larger and larger till he stood over all elves and he had a massive bulk of muscles. he learned to fight as he grew older. But weapons larger than of elven make. His mother had a powerful sword made that even he had to wield with 2 hands and he was content. When he became an young adult his mother sent him to learn from his father and there he learned to harness his draconic abilities. He was able to breath a breath weapon more like a dragon than was normal for his type. Some said he was blessed by the gods. But the gods have limits. He decided to leave and adventure when he got old enough and fell in with a group involving a paladin, a monkey man shaman, and two dwarf twins one male and one female. Him being sneaky and stealing to help others was not a favorite of the paladin. One day while in a tavern in the Vaasan region an elven maid stumbled in and asked for help. Her brother had been taken as payment for unpaid taxes by a cruel baron. Siridar readily accepted the mission. The paladin had to be convinced but the baron turned out to be an evil necromancer. So they set out and found his home and fought his undead and entered the mansion. There they found a young red dragon and Siridar refused to let it leave challenging to a fight. The red dragon cast a spell and incinerated the shaman. Siridar horrified at what had happened by his actions. gathered up the remains of the shaman and vowed to bury them and atone for his actions. Once the Baron was defeated he found a temple of Corellon and prayed for forgiveness. Corellong was angry at the young half dragon and cursed him. he lost his dragon looks and was instead turned into a mixture of elven and dragon. He also gained the ability to fight more. Now standing like a humanoid and having hair and real hands. Siridar was devastated he strived to be like his father to be fair and regal. He wanted to be a powerful dragon to protect those he cared for. He was told he would remain this way till he truly learned. That all actions carry a price. He left his group in shame and traveled alone. After a time he arrived in a town and met upon a group of people who clearly needed his help. The group was a gnome ranger, a halfling bard and a halfling rogue and a halfling cleric and a human mage. He joined with this group and became fast freinds with the small female halfling bard. She would tell him many wonderful stories. The gnome would pull pranks and get him in much trouble but he never truly hated her. It was fun unless the guard was called. The human hated Siridar for he was already linked to his draconic heritage and the mage had to struggle and meditate to gain its powers. The halfling rogue distrusted him and so did the cleric. But Siridar swore to defend them with his life. He traveled with them and fought many strange monsters. Till one day a group of Dragonkin surrounded them and proclaimed him the dragon king. He refused for he had no desire to have that responsibility his treasure's were with him at all time his friends. They gave him chests of gold and jewels and a crown and bid him farewell with instructions on where to go. He put all the things he could in his magic bag and carried the rest on a wagon. He traveled with his group and began having terrible nightmares of being a dragon and hurting his freinds. A rage began growing inside of him day by day and during this time they met some fellow adventurers and they joined the group. They were an elf sorcerer and her chosen an elven fighter. During the nights Dragonkin would drop treasure around him while he slept and the fighter stole some. He caught the halfing one day taking some and his rage almost overtook him. He managed to take care of himself and begged her not to take his treasure for he was losing his self control and didn't want to hurt anyone he began to shadow the group staying far enough away to not distract them but close enough to stop trouble. One night the dragonkin left a large ruby that pulsed with its own energy and a message telling him he was on the right track. they had many adventures and battled a dragon for kingship. He finally made it to where he needed to be a large mountain cave filled with strange ruins and ominous warnings of the king of the dragons. He lost the human mage along the way he attempted to harm the bard and Siridar made him leave. The elven sorceress tired of her chosens evil ways told Siridar of the deeds he had committed and the stolen treasure and Siridar battled him to the death. The bard left out of grief for what the mage had done and Siridar missed her greatly. While fighting a Shadow Dragon in the caves. He found a young lady who seemed to be an elf but not at the same time. She was quite astonashing and they became fast friends even though he hid from her for the feelings he had and for the rage that was overwhelming him. They made it to the throne of the dragons and there was dragons of every shape and color. He threw down the crown and the treasure and rejected the title. Saying the only true treasures he needed were his friends and what he earned on his own. He then left. He still wanders the Vaasan Region with his beloved Sorceress Sanora and He has become a full bronze dragon with the help of Corellon and Hlal after proving his worthiness of such a gift. |
| Odimax11-27-06, 02:45 AM | Here is another one of mine. :) Garrett Shadowstriker Rogue 10 Alignment Neutral Good Deity Shaundakul Race Half-moon Elf Home Region Waterdeep, "The City of Splendors" Group Affiliation The Heroes of Duvik's Pass Garrett Shadowstriker's Half-Elf parents (Tomus and Frella) are locally known merchants in Waterdeep. Even as a child, Garrett had sharp senses and was often charged with the task of keeping watch on his family's trade goods to keep them safe from would-be thieves. As he grew older, he was also hired by other merchants to watch over their goods, and often worked at their trading posts as a trader and seller. As he grew near adulthood, Garrett was beginning to be left alone with the trade goods, and he soon realized he would need to carry a weapon to defend himself from tougher threats. A group of urban rangers - whom outsiders have dubbed the "Market Militia" - often helped the locals keep watch over their merchandise, and taught Garrett to proficiently wield a few different simple weapons. In addition, they taught him the basics of fighting with the kukri, a fearsome weapon more deadly than a simple dagger. Garrett took to the kukri right away, and it quickly became his weapon of choice. He achieved a certain comfort with the weapon, and has slowly built his skill with it, only recently beginning to wield two at once. After several years in the trade industry, Garrett began to grow restless. Over the years, he saw thousands of adventurers moving in and out of Waterdeep, and he took great interest in their stories and equipment. He decided he would like to go off adventuring to see what exciting things he could experience, and hoped to do some good along the way. With the blessing of his parents, Garrett set off with childhood friend Villera Gisharis, a novice Half-Elf wizardess. The pair soon joined up with other friends, Dwarf fighter Bubbo Ironhead and Human cleric Claymore Mason. Garrett's skills were best suited as a scout and trapfinder, so he became the party rogue. The four companions became known as Clay's Crusaders and had many interesting adventures together. Garrett learned a lot from his friends, including the Dwarven language from Bubbo. Clay's Crusaders had many successes, but eventually tragedy struck. While Garrett was out scouting the ruins of a goblinoid fortress, his companions were ambushed by two massive blue dragons. They were outmatched, and stood no chance against the beasts. Garrett heard the battle, and came running, only to find his companions being torn apart and devoured by the wyrms. He was too late to offer aid, and could only hide as the dragons flew off in search of more interesting pursuits. Garrett was devastated, and mourned the loss of his friends. Eventually, he made his way to the Moon Sea region where he hoped to find solo work. Finding the Moon Sea region wrought with backstabbing and political strife, Garrett found work as an infiltrator and spy for various good-aligned networks hoping to tip the balance away from corruption. When work dried up and war threatened the Moonsea, Garrett headed south toward Cormyr. Soon, Garrett was introduced to the Heroes of Duvik's Pass by the Harper bard, Mendrel. The Heroes' trusted friend Smirk had just been killed while on a dangerous mission against the evil wizard Ratakos, and they were now in need of a rogue. Garrett joined their ranks and helped tribal shaman Cale Nodin, sorceress Magie Falconion, warrior Melaine Starfire, and ranger Lyroth Bowbane (along with an assist from Mendrel) save the town of Tilverton from a deadly plot to enslave its inhabitants. The Heroes are quickly gaining trust and confidence in Garrett as a teammate, and he is finding them to be both a friendly and talented group. But enough talk, adventure awaits! Note: Garrett's parents are alive and well, and continue to provide consumers with some of the best trade goods in all of Waterdeep. Tom's Trade Goods is located near the heart of the city market. Ask for it by name. Garrett's Traits Appearance: Slight-framed Half-Elf Male Disheveled appearance Traits: Quiet and reserved Cool, calm demeanor Strives to be helpful Talents: Infiltration Observation Trapsmithing Dual Kukri-wielding razor storm of death Drawbacks: Still mourning deaths of former companions Often too calm in the face of danger Has trouble overcoming shyness Goals: To earn his place as a member of the Heroes of Duvik's Pass To protect others from suffering a fate similar to Clay's Crusaders Above all, to adventure for the side of good in the fight against evil |

If it wasn't for all the Dwarves, Orcs, Dragons, Goblins, Bugbears... well, perhaps not such a nice place after all.") Jasķ is a charming young (well, relatively speaking) elven lady always embroiled in at least three different activities at the same time (practicing a new spell, chattering, dancing and feeding the horses... which leaves the horses rather bewildered!). She likes to be with people, adores her Owl familiar (Sasś, named after her grandmother), never hurts anybody if she can help it, and secretly regrets she didn't stay with Sorcerer but sought schooling instead. She's currently traveling with a very nice (though slightly too lawful) Human she-Monk (would that be a Nun?!), a very nice Halfling Rogue/Wizard/Loremistress and a very nice Half-Celestial Cleric. You might have noticed that Jasķ likes to be around people... Her darker side includes the urge to explore transplanar magic as well as an unbounded curiosity regarding fiends. She might just summon a Tanar-Ri to hold a conversation with it. She'd never summon a Tanar-Ri to fight for her, though. |
| Odimax12-03-06, 10:02 AM | -To qualify to be an assassin you must be: ALIGNMENT: ANY EVIL -If' he's dead though, I guess it don't matter much...;) I know. I played this character from level 1. In-game, the story dictated the opening of the Assassin prestige class. You'll note that in the write-up for his background, I described him as one of the rare few good-aligned assassins in Faerun. He was actually trained by an assassin working for the Knights of the North, who was pitting evil politicians against each other. Smirk eventually became pretty dark, anyway, and was bordering on some alignment changes. We generally adhere very closely to core rules, but our DM works with us if there is something we really want to do. This particular change made for some very exciting events within the campaign. In fact, the DM recently asked me if he could have Clerics of Mask resurrect Smirk and use him as an NPC from here on out. So, I'm thinking we might have a confrontation with Smirk in the future! |
