| scimitar06-20-03, 03:39 PM | In my case I want the Land of Intrigue region (Amn, Tethyr and Calimsham) |
| Niftyone06-20-03, 03:57 PM | I'd love the Lands of Intrigue myself. Even moreso if they tossed in the Lake of Steam and surroundings as well. That being said, I'd run out and by a new one on the Shining South or Old Empires too. Those regions have all been too long overshadowed by the North and Dales. |
| Agent 2306-20-03, 04:06 PM | MOONSEA! |
| Ilbreth Shadowblade06-20-03, 04:59 PM | 1. Western Heartlands 2. The Moonsea 3. Lands of Intrigue In that order. |
| Masakado06-20-03, 05:06 PM | The Shining South. Halfling lore is underrepresented, & Dambrath is the coolest nation on Faerun. |
| Straploknight06-20-03, 06:34 PM | I'll second that Masakado, as a second choice I'd like to see a treatment on the hordelands, Kara-Tur, Maztica, and Zakhara. I can scratch the UD off my list since that baby will be coming out in october hopefully. |
| Egnad Plet-Ohm06-20-03, 06:44 PM | My favorite regional sourcebooks would be: 1. Moonshae Isles 2. Sea of Fallen Stars 3. Moonsea But any region would be okay for me. Just losts of maps, npcs, background stories, fluffy bits, etc. :D |
| Kuje3106-20-03, 06:58 PM | I would like a updated Moonshae's book. it's been 20+ years since Alicia has become Queen. But other then that, I would say some where that has not been given much information in the past. Or update some of the old sourcebooks from 1st edition and early 2nd edition. |
| cwslyclgh06-20-03, 07:18 PM | waterdeep/undermountain... or the old empires |
| Jack in the Green06-20-03, 08:00 PM | Originally posted by Ilbreth Shadowblade 1. Western Heartlands 2. The Moonsea 3. Lands of Intrigue In that order. I'll second that! In that order! :bounce: |
| Dargoth06-20-03, 08:14 PM | OLD EMPIRES! and Anauroch destert/Empire of Shadows |
| Gadodel06-20-03, 09:22 PM | Something on either Sembia or Waterdeep. |
| PhilCW06-21-03, 12:48 AM | 1) Island Kingdoms of the Trackless Sea (Monshae, Evermeet, Lantan, Nimbral, etc) 2) The Cold Lands 3) The Dragon Coast |
| Faeryl Zauvirr06-21-03, 01:07 AM | 1. The Moonsea 2. Lands of Intrigue 3. Island Kingdoms of the Trackless Sea. But not necessarily in that order |
| E'tii'stil Shadowsil06-21-03, 01:07 AM | The Shining South with character stats for all luminaries    |
| Tempus66506-21-03, 02:23 AM | Waterdeep/Undermountain (a big book). In that order ;) |
| Kilamar06-21-03, 05:38 AM | Since I already have most of the others, I would like to have a Kara-Tur Sourcebook. Kilamar |
| Falkomur06-21-03, 08:07 AM | I would like to see an book on Halruaa en the great jungle west of it (lost it's name, sorry). Greatly because I would like to get a differt point of view in relation to the ART. The mages on the other side of the world must act differently. And with a sourcebook, you cant ignore the surroundings, right? |
| bat14106-21-03, 08:59 AM | When we they learn that we want it all, all the good fluffy stuff that Ed has in his home, on paper, in his head, wherever. WE WANT IT ALL. :D I want a 23 volume Encyclopedia Faerunica. Forget the crunchy bits and all the PrC, rules and such. I want to know why, when and what for. And don't tell me, it's for me to make up. If any of us believed that we wouldn't be having this thread. While I am ranting, I'm tired of RSE just to meet the new rules (Time of Troubles, etc). The history of the Realms is the same whether 1E, 2E, 3E, 3.5E, 3.5.01, build 6E. Just gives us our fluff. NPCs are cool because they are the people involved in the history. Forget explaining why Realms Cosmology doesn't match the Great Wheel. Who cares if Elminster's levels and spells don't add up by the rules. Come on, once you have a dalliance with the Goddess of Magic, you don't follow spells per day, per level rules. I want someone to tell me... oops, I have entered a rant phase of my writing career. I don't care what comes next, just keep them coming. I suspect that Mr. Greenwood:bow: has enough material to keep us informed and entertained for the next few millenia. |
| Cahir The Knight of Nilfgaard06-21-03, 10:54 AM | Definitely CORMYR and LANDS OF INTRIGUE |
| Kikatan06-21-03, 12:25 PM | I'd like to see a 3E area source book of the Moon Sea or see an adventure that takes place withen that region. Adventures I've done a long time ago in that vicinity was having PC's that weren't human sneak into Hillsfar and then having them try to hide out. I threw them into the Arena where they eventually died... well, one escaped. |
| Laveral06-21-03, 12:40 PM | I would say I would like to see a book on the Western Heartlands and the south where Halruaa and Luiren are. I think both of these areas would be fun to run campaigns in. |
| Iakhovas06-21-03, 07:40 PM | I'm dumbfounded at the number of requests for a sourcebook on the Lands of Intrigue. Calimshan, Amn, Tethyr, and Erlkazar have already been detailed, and no 3rd-Edition designer will ever be able to surpass the fantastic work Steven Schend delivered with those sourcebooks. Hell, the sourcebook is freely available as a download at Lands of Intrigue (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/2/fr_downloads/tsr1159.zip) or Calimport (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/2/fr_downloads/tsr9589.zip) |

Don't know why we need another Waterdeep and Undermountain book(s) either. Undermountain has been detailed enough with 2 box sets, three moduals and the Skullport sourcebook. Waterdeep has at least 4+ sourcebooks, box sets, and moduals. |
| Dargoth06-21-03, 08:35 PM | I seriously doubt there will be an Undermountain Accessory Undermountain is basicly one big module and WOTC have said there not going to publish anymore modules. |
| Faraer06-21-03, 08:43 PM | Remember, Undermountain has 9 main levels. We've only seen the first three, and I agree it's not looking good that well get the rest under the current policies. |
| Dargoth06-21-03, 08:47 PM | Originally posted by Faraer Remember, Undermountain has 9 main levels. We've only seen the first three, and I agree it's not looking good that well get the rest under the current policies. Actually youve seen Six there are 2 Undermountain Box sets eaxh featuring 3 levels |
| Iuducium06-21-03, 08:48 PM | Most definitely the Shining South. This region has gone too long unrepresented in the sourcebooks. The Island Kingdoms would be nice too. I know everyone would love some source books for the lands outside Faerūn, but I doesn't really look like we'll get it soon. I would say the Unnapproachable East, but we finally got that book (YAY for Raumathari!!). |
| Faraer06-21-03, 09:11 PM | Ruins of Undermountain II has three extra funny kind of sub-levels; they aren't the main levels (which are already designed). Steve Schend's Dungeon Crawl modules are also sub-levels. |
| SirUrza06-21-03, 09:45 PM | Waterdeep Cormyr Dalelands |
| Reefy06-22-03, 05:26 PM | 1) Western Heartlands 2) Waterdeep 3) Lake of Steam/ Border Kingdoms In that order. |
| Lady Claransa Trent06-22-03, 07:12 PM | 1. Cold Lands (Damara, Vaasa) - It's been a long time since R.A.S.'s supplement, which was one of the first 2e products if I remember correctly. 2. Halruaa - I just want more info on this region 3. Impiltur I'm not that interested in areas that are already heavily detailed like Waterdeep and Cormyr, but would be mildly curious I guess, just to get caught up on changes. |
| Janos Greycloak06-22-03, 08:04 PM | I think everyone would agree we'd love to see them ALL done, but as that would take too long I'd like to see: Lands of Intrigue The Chultan Peninsula The Shining South I think they could do a lot with the Yuan Ti in the jungles but as long as we don't see stats for that thing that goes through the jungle killing people [can't remember the blasted creature's name]. I like having an unknown, unburdened by stats threat. That way you can do whatever you want with it...OK, you can do that anyway as DM but still.:smirk: |
| Cog06-24-03, 11:20 PM | Dalelands Cormyr Waterdeep |
| endowhin06-25-03, 03:18 AM | Dales Cormyr Desert/Jungle -Endowhin |
| Wandering Owl06-25-03, 03:31 AM | Island Kingdoms of the Trackless Sea Dalelands Shining South |
| Nei06-25-03, 08:16 AM | 1. Chultan Peninsula 2. Cormyr 3. The North Nei |
| Savras06-25-03, 01:46 PM | When I was young and foolish, quite a buffon A book I was given, it talked about Faerūn I was completely charmed, ensnared by the plot, For me a book of that kind is better than pot Then D&D I met, and became an ardent fan Never looking back (as if I really can) Then 3e arrived, doing a great change Making the rules helpful and not a cage The FRCS followed soon, filled with yummy bits But Molhurand and Unther are still in the pits The Sword Coast is full, as are the Silver Marches The Dales are done-complete, as are Evereska and it's archers Thay has been covered 'till Szass-Tam's ugly head But the most recent info on the Old is that Gilgeam is dead! Give us the Old Empires, that's a nice designer 'Cause until now, they only got a one-liner!! ------------------------------------- While the info about me is inaccourate, I stand with the Poets For The Old Empires Alliance, or PFTOEA, we need more, more, more, on the Old Empirs (mainly Molhurand). Savras |
| Donblas, the Justice Maker06-25-03, 01:54 PM | I'm with Savras on this one. A great, fat book on the Old Empires would be so nice:cool: BTW Great poetry God of the Poe...ehrm Diviners :P |
| Sarelle06-25-03, 02:24 PM | Maztica. But I think I'm alone there. Oh and definitely the Dalelands too. |
| Elereth_Berantor06-25-03, 02:25 PM | @ Savras I'd like to see maybe an "Islands" book, detailing the Moonshaes, Lantan, Evermeet, and Nalather Isles. Oh, don't forget Ruathym. Hell, throw Tharsult in there for good measure. |
| Elereth_Berantor06-25-03, 02:30 PM | Originally posted by Sarelle Maztica. But I think I'm alone there. Oh and definitely the Dalelands too. I'd like to see Maztica also. The Dalelands have been beat to death though... in fact they are detailed better than any other area in the FRCS. |
| Kuje3106-25-03, 03:16 PM | Originally posted by Sarelle Maztica. But I think I'm alone there. Oh and definitely the Dalelands too. I would also like a updated Maztica. But then I like a lot of the continents that are not part of the "core" Realms. |
| Verghityax06-26-03, 06:20 AM | Hmmm... Definitely: 1. Maztica 2. Sembia (because there's no sourcebook that would be especially on Sembia) 3. The Shining South in this order :D |
| Tempest of the 7 Storms06-27-03, 08:36 AM | I agree with Savras, except I would like to see more on Chessenta instead of Mulhorand :) Also, The Lake of Steam (and Border Kingdoms) as well as the Islands of the Trackless Sea. |
| RichGreen06-27-03, 02:48 PM | I'd like to see the Cold Lands (Damara/Vaasa). Only done once! Richard |
| PhilCW06-27-03, 11:01 PM | I wouldn't mind a book on regions that have been covered ad infinitum, bt rather than have say 1 book for cormyr, 1 book for the dalelands, etc. Why not stick them into more "general" splatbooks? The sword coast (featuring waterdeep, lands of intrigue, Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter, etc) The Heartlands (Dalelands, Cormyr, Western Heartlands) Lands of the Sea of Fallen Stars (Sembia, the Vast, Vilhon reach, etc). |
| Scede07-02-03, 09:55 AM | - Lands of Intrigue & Border Kingdoms - Lots of political turmoil in this region - What the heck happened to Erlkazar?? I know about the map but they renamed a bunch of stuff too... - Moonsea (Hillsfar, Phlan, ZK) - Damara, Vaasa, Thar & The Ride - Dragon Reach (East coast to include Ravens Bluff) - Luiren & The Great Rift -I really want to see how these kingdoms work... |
| pandionpdg07-02-03, 11:20 AM | Definitely Cormyr. |
| Sarelle07-02-03, 01:25 PM | Wow - people agree with me on Maztica. I thought it was a lost cause. I love Kiltzi of the Maztica pantheon - like a maztican Sune. I stick by the Dalelands, because I'm not too much of a fan of the Western Heartlands, and like to have my campaigns in the Dalelands. And at the moment there is no 3e product dedicated to the Dalelands, despite many 2e and unofficail products (and large sections of FRCS) dealing with them. I'm starting to want the Moonshaes now, and Espruar, Durpar and Var the Golden too. |
| Purple Dragon Knight07-02-03, 07:00 PM | Cormyr. |
| Jinan07-02-03, 09:28 PM | What about that new elven homeland mentioned at the end of Evermeet: Island of Elves ? Moonshae Islands (now that the idea of any fantasy remotely "Celtic Twilight"-ish doesn't make my eyes glaze over). Maztica Kara-tur Halruaa and the rest of the Deep South. |
| Shade_agent07-02-03, 10:40 PM | Cormyr |
| TechnoLurker07-03-03, 03:04 AM | 1. Anauroch 2. Halruaa 3. Cormyr |
| Derek Snowmantle07-03-03, 06:22 PM | 1) Cold lands (inc Sossal and Impiltur) 2) Maztica 3) Old empires/Vilhon Reach 4) The south-(Lake of steam, Halruua, Shaar, Liuren, etc) 5) Chultan peninsula 6) Island Kingdoms But I agree I WANT IT ALL!!!! |
| Caldur07-03-03, 07:12 PM | 1. The Sword Coast North (Waterdeep and Undermountain, Luskan, Neverwinter maybe) 2. The Island Kingdoms 3. The Western Heartlands |
| FineasBoggs07-04-03, 01:57 PM | I want to see something updating undermountain, or better yet and entire book of dungeons of the realms. |
| Malakar of Waterdeep07-05-03, 03:06 AM | Personally, I'd like to see how the Hordelands have changed since the Invasion/Crusades storyline. I would also appreciate a 3rd/3.5 version of Kara-Tur. |
| Selvarin07-05-03, 05:15 PM | Moonshaes. As for the Hordelands, that was touched upon a bit in the UE supplement. |
| FineasBoggs07-05-03, 05:22 PM | Well for everyone that wants to see Cormyr....you're going to be waiting a long time. There are a lot of areas that haven't even been covered in 2nd edition, so you will probably see those areas long before a 3rd edition Cormyr.:( |
| Ovim Ironstar07-05-03, 05:27 PM | The Great Rift Lurien and Dambrath The Isle nations (all) Maztica Zakhara Kara-Tur and the new elven homeland as per Evermeet the novel:twitch: :pile: O!!! & no more about the dales till something really happens there again cause if u've played/read/thought about the realms in the last 5 years...THERE'S NOTHING NEW since randal morn reclaimed his throne...but why not tell us about what's REALLY happened to tilverton and what's going on there...due to the return of shade...heavy updates on cormyr...and...out of curiosity...i know it's in the 3E books but i cant refind it again...can anyone remember where the OLD ironstar holds are...i know that the they are under one of the newer clan holds in the north...but cant find which. |
| bat14107-05-03, 06:01 PM | Originally posted by Dargoth I seriously doubt there will be an Undermountain Accessory Undermountain is basicly one big module and WOTC have said there not going to publish anymore modules. They could do a COSQ super module with it. We can always keep our fingers crossed. |
| FineasBoggs07-05-03, 06:11 PM | Actually they have already said that undermountain was in the works but wouldn't be released until 05 or something like that. I think it was Rich Baker that commented on it. |
| Herr Doktor07-05-03, 07:20 PM | My top picks for Regional Supplements would be:
Waterdeep and Undermountain Lands of Intrigue The Western Heartlands Cormyr Sembia Old Empires
|
| bat14107-05-03, 08:59 PM | Like I said WE WANT IT ALL |
| Herr Doktor07-05-03, 10:05 PM | Maybe Wizards should run a poll here, or on the website. That might make things more clear! |
| Ovim Ironstar07-07-03, 03:26 PM | Yo umean you think they'd actually care to ask before beginning a product to know what a majority of the players want to know......there's a novel idea...:nonono: I dont know if that would work as a marketing technique:bigeyes: |
| FineasBoggs07-07-03, 03:38 PM | Well they wouldn't actually. Do you remember any polls asking to see an underdark product??? :nonono: |
| Ovim Ironstar07-07-03, 04:05 PM | or what we wanted in "Races", or instead of Unapproachable East, maybe we'd have ratherd a less common area as the first area specific book....I better stop...this will become a rant WAY too fast |
| FineasBoggs07-07-03, 04:07 PM | Yeah you should calm down, the I hate wizards and 3rd edition club already has enough members.:D |
| Ovim Ironstar07-07-03, 04:14 PM | We should try a resurrection spell to bring TSR back to life |
| FineasBoggs07-07-03, 04:16 PM | Yeah the good old days of product and franchise continuity. |
| Ovim Ironstar07-07-03, 04:25 PM | Back when Ed and the crew layed the smackdown on the candy coated one's |
| FineasBoggs07-07-03, 04:27 PM | |
| Selvarin07-07-03, 07:16 PM | The good old days weren't that good. That's how TSR became part of WotC. Are memories so short? |
| Iakhovas07-07-03, 08:19 PM | I'm not sure if a popular opinion poll is the best way to go. Just a quick scan of this thread seems to indicate that most of you want a 3rd-Edition re-hashing of a sourcebook already sitting on my shelf. If a region *must* be re-released, as least go back to something that hasn't been updated since 1st-Edition. So my votes would be: Regions never previously covered: * SW Faerūn (Thindol, Tashalar, Lapaliiya, Black Jungles, Mhair Jungles) * The Utter East (Free cities of Parsanic, Doegan, Edenvale, Konigheim) * The Shaar & Eastern Shaar * SE Faerūn (Veldorn, Raurin, Plains of Purple Dust) * Island Kingdoms (Lantan, Nimbral, Nelanther Isles) * Sembia * Anchorome Regions not covered in a long long time: * Old Empires (Chessenta, Mulhorand, Unther, Murghom, Semphar) * Moonshaes * The Demonlands (Vaasa, Damara, Impiltur, Thar) |
| FineasBoggs07-07-03, 08:23 PM | I agree, if it must be re-hashed at least do something do hasn't been done in a while....after undermountain of course. |
| robilaruk07-08-03, 06:43 AM | agreed - a 3E cormyr supplement, done by Ed would be just HEAVEN DB |
| BlackAce100007-08-03, 08:01 AM | Here are my choices and a few notes to go with them. 1) The Shaar (Lake of Steam/Great Rift etc.) 2) The Western Heartlands (BG,Berdusk, Iriaebor, Greenfields) 3) The Wild Coast (Jungles of Chult, Halruaa, Dambrath) 4) The Dragon Coast and the Shinning Plains 5) The Golden Lands (Estagund, Lurien, Var, Durpar) 6) The Moonsea (Hillsfar, Elventree, Zhentil Keep) 7) The Vast (Ravens Bluff, Tantras){Been done in detail tho'} 8) The Shining South (Calimshan, Lake of Steam){Done} 9) The Vilhon Reach {Been a while, so maybe} 10) The Lands of Intrigue (Amn, Tethyr){done just before 3rd ed} 11) Old Empires {Been a while but little is different} 12) Cormyr {Done to death but ready for an update} 13) Dalelands {Done to death too and not mush has changed} 14) The North {Really, really, really done to death} 15) Waterdeep {ARRRRGGGHH! ENOUGH!} |
| Druxus Rhym07-09-03, 10:33 PM | Defintely Dragon Coast there's alot of stuff they could describe more and ofcourse they already got my first choice Unaproachable East :D |
| Dargoth07-09-03, 10:39 PM | Originally posted by Herr Doktor Maybe Wizards should run a poll here, or on the website. That might make things more clear! They did It was just after ROF came out |
| Thrask the Gnoll07-09-03, 10:50 PM | I would like to bring up an important point. Please remember that just because a region might be a rehash to you, it is not for everyone. The 3e Realms was meant to also be an entry point for newcomers, you might recall. So before you decry something such as a Waterdeep sourcebook as being unecessary, remember that for many of the new fans, the older stuff is often long gone and out of reach, and places like Waterdeep are brand new. Some of us DON'T know all the intricacies of Cormyr or the Moonshaes, but would like to, and our only chance will likely only be from new material. Thank you for your time. |

Some of us DON'T know all the intricacies of Cormyr or the Moonshaes, but would like to, and our only chance will likely only be from new material. Thank you for your time. That is true, but there are also affordable PDF's of such products that can be purchased from RPGNow and SVGames. |
| Thrask the Gnoll07-10-03, 12:29 PM | Sure, but not everyone can or wants to buy things off the 'net, and many people prefer paper products in our hands (I know I do). |
| Selvarin07-10-03, 04:10 PM | Yes but if there *isn't* a 3e'd campaign accessory for that region I guess they're out of luck and will have to wait for it to be published. Yet the information's available if they really, really want it. |
| Sarelle07-11-03, 01:32 PM | Originally posted by Thrask the Gnoll Sure, but not everyone can or wants to buy things off the 'net, and many people prefer paper products in our hands (I know I do). I, as a person who has really joined at the rise of 3E, completely agree with both your posts Thrask. Thanks for sticking up for the newcomers! I have no aversion to buying the older accessories (there is amazon!) but I'm not rich, so if I buy something I would prefer it to be up-to-date - and I would never download something ioff the internet, firstly not to rip off WotC and undermine D&D, secondly because I don't do illegal things out of principle (and because I don't want to be sued or get a virus), and thirdly because when I play D&D I play it in the other end of my house from the computer (and my printer doesn't work well with pdfs). |
| Erimthar07-11-03, 01:53 PM | I'd like to see: 1. WESTERN HEARTLANDS. Everything south of Waterdeep, north of Amn, west of Cormyr/Anauroch, east of the Sea. Focus on city-states...like the FR Adventures hardcover did, only in more detail. 2. THE OLD EMPIRES. Covering Mulhorand, Unther, Chessenta, Murghom, Semphar, the Eastern Shaar, Raurin/Plains of Purple Dust, Solon. 3. THE COLD LANDS. Damara, Vaasa, Narfell, Impiltur, Sossal, Great Glacier, Thar. 4. EASTERN HEARTLANDS. Cormyr, Sembia, Dalelands, Moonsea, Vast, Dragon Reach (maybe too much for one book...if so have one for Cormyr, Sembia and the Dragon Reach and another for the Dales, Moonsea, and Vast). 5. THE ISLAND KINGDOMS. All of them...Moonshaes, Nimbral, Lantan, Evermeet, Nelanther, Ruathym, Gundarlun, etc. 6. THE SHINING SOUTH. Halruaa, Dambrath, Luiren, Durpar and the surrounding lands, the Chult Peninsula, and the western Shaar. Waterdeep has been done to death, but not for 3e. It's probably popular enough that it will get its own book (hopefully also covering the parts of the North not covered in Silver Marches) The Vilhon Reach probably doesn't warrant a book of its own...maybe a trilogy of big Dragon articles covering 1) Turmish, 2) Chondath and Sespech, and 3) The Emerald Enclave/Eyes of Silvanus/Gulthmere Forest. The Lands of Intrigue and Calimshan were covered pretty recently, and well, by Steve Schend's products, but they could use updating...something for a Dragon article or a web enhancement. |
| Thrask the Gnoll07-11-03, 03:42 PM | Thanks Sarelle. Nice to know someone agrees with me. |
| Selvarin07-11-03, 10:30 PM | There's still a lot of free PDF's to be found on the WotC web site. Second, $5 for a PDF at the two pay sites isn't a lot if you choose what you want wisely. Third, if I choose to print out something I legally possess I often copy the pertinent parts directly to MS Word and change the typeset so I can get the most on the fewest pages. Thus I have everything at my fingertips but only print what I want (usually something that I'm working to convert to 3E on my own). But it's not for everyone. So wait. :) |
| Klyden07-11-03, 10:38 PM | THREE WORDS!...THE VILHON REACH! YES...I'M MY OWN HERO PEOPLE! :D |

Some of us DON'T know all the intricacies of Cormyr or the Moonshaes, but would like to, and our only chance will likely only be from new material. Thank you for your time. Those are all good points. And yes, a lot of the old material can be tough to get (it's out of print), but I'm still trying. That said, I wouldn't mind supplements on the less detailed lands either--Moonsea, the Shining South, the Cold Lands, the Old Empires, etc. I'm not fan of Maztica or Kara-Tur, but I realize there is a call for those places...:P PS: Savras little poem was funny. |

It sounds like the upcoming Serpent Kingdoms accessory will cover some, if not all, of Southwest Faerūn. |
