Hej folks,

after the outcoming Player's Guide to Faerun, does anyone thing they will make a DM's guide to Faerun?

And what should it be about?

Greetings, your Crazy_DM.

No, a DM's guide to Faerun is the FRCS.

The next FR product will be Serpent Kingdom, then another area book (don't know what that will be). In 2005 we will get a new Monsters of Faerun and a Waterdeep book.

A sourcebook on Waterdeep. Is that really necesary? I have seen alot of people around the internet looking forward to this release, and have been anticipating if for quiet some time, but there's so much info on Waterdeep allready from 2nd edition, and I don't think those books need an update like a complete sourcebook. Hmph...

Oh well, we can't be satisfied all of us.

Do you know anything about in which part of the year the MM and and Waterdeep book will get out?

2.ed material does not make any beans for WotC youknow...

the Monster book would be out in the start of 2005, while Waterdeep will be out the same time as Ed's new book about Waterdeep is out.

Sorry to all who've read the following point many times before.

Aghill, when it comes to the Heartlands and the Sword Coast North, Ed has developed far more material than is in print. The existing Waterdeep products (the original book, the expanded version of it, the Volo's Guide, and the box of maps) only scratch the surface of the city, which could easily support ten times that amount of lore. (The problem is how much new material the new Waterdeep book will have space for after covering the basics and adding pointless new races and prestige classes.)

There are also rumors of a Fallen Empires book that might get developed. It's still theoritcal, but has been mentioned in the Rich Baker thread, the Realms mailing list, and that thread at Candlekeep that Ed is replying to questions at.

Minor point : there are a vast number of new players who have little or no access to 2nd edition material. and even for older gamers such as myself, despite having a fairly extensive collection, there are still significant gaps. and i'm sure i'm not the only one who has only limited access to internet, and cannot acquire 2e material either via downloads or sites that sell such material (works PC only in my case).

re-releasing very old material is not always a bad thing, and is hardly theft (it's not compusory to buy it) i certainly look forward to the waterdeep book as i was more interested in the exotic regional supplements when younger, figured a big town wasn't worth it - you live, you learn :)
