| Lord Karsus12-15-05, 11:49 PM | I doubt that anyone will listen, but what kind of sourcebook, module or whatever needs to be created. -In my personal opinion, I agree with a lot of people in the notion that some sort of Forgotten Realms Gazetter should be published. A bi-yearly newspaper-like sourcebook could really spice things up. Give us updated information on current Realms going-ons, new plot hooks, updated stats. That kind of stuff... Another thing that would be interesting would be a sourcebook, Chronicles from Candlekeep, or something equally as snazzy. In it, a comprehensive history of Toril as Realmsian scholars know it. We have pleanty of sourcebooks that detail histories of specific events, in specific places. One book, to have everything in one place, would be great. It would also allow us to see how different civilizations compared to others. What say you? |
| Cli' San Aquanova12-16-05, 02:50 PM | They need to make a sourcebook for Cormyr and Sembia. It would be awesome. Hell, Sembia alone would make a great sourcebook. But those two nations are in need of a fluffy accessory, Sembia moreso. Saerloon, Selgaunt, Urmlaspyr, Ordulin, Suzail, the Thunder Peaks, the Stormhorn, etc, all flushed out. Plus, they could detail some unnoted novel characters, like Erevis Cale, and the Night Knives (though they may be a little... disbanded...). I would wee myself with ecstasy if they made a sourcebook for Cormyr and Sembia. -C'SA :u:Bring Back Merfolk!!!:u: |
| Slime Lord12-16-05, 04:08 PM | I would love to see a PURCHASEABLE Newpaper'esk thing there Lord, it would be rather fun and can be written by one of Oghma's or Denier's followers ;) lol. I agreet that Comyr and Semiba need doing, proper and true doing's of course. We need little things you know, fun and true little things. |
| Lord Karsus12-16-05, 04:21 PM | A newspaper-like supplement would really be useful. I mean, think about it. You'd be able to get (relativley) up-to-the-date Realms info. With something like this, you'll never have huge errors, where continuity in novels messes up the continuity in your campaign. Plus, it could let the Realms become personable again, like in 2e, instead of all business 3e. |
| dan123412-16-05, 04:47 PM | Calimshan source book is what I would want :cookie: |
| Dargoth12-16-05, 06:07 PM | More Regional Source books so far we know of 3 FR products next year Power of Faerun Mysteries of the Moonsea Dragons of Faerun and only Mysteries of the Moonsea can be could be considered a regional source book and even then its been hinted that its format is not that of the traditional FR regional source book....... |
| Icel12-16-05, 06:26 PM | Sword Coast/ Westren Heathland sourcebook would be very welcome. |
| Mr.Moonrat12-16-05, 07:27 PM | As I have told mr Baker, my biggest wish is: The book; "People of Faerun" (or something like that) - a nice looking NPC-book. From first to last page only lots of NPCs. Scoundrels, and villains, questgivers, interesting innkeepers. People from everywhere; an assassin in Calimport; one heroic war wizard in Cormyr. Totally new characters as well as people from the novels. I would like stats for the rest of the Seven Sisters (and their current doings) and would love more detailed stats for all the leading red wizards (only a couple of many possible examples). Let it be one NPC per page with a little picture to show the players as a bonus. If 120 pages or so, we have quite a few NPCs for our game sessions to use... When I write my own material for campaigns in FR; one of those things that takes most time (for me) is to give the NPCs numbers and statistics. You can always do it quick. But if you want to be "serious" and use all the books with all prestige classes and all spells and all feats and all magical items available (no "boring" ring of protection here), then there is quite a job for you to do. Not complaining. It is fun to make NPCs. But some extra support when you are tired or running short of time is always fine on the way to new grand adventures! |
| Lord Karsus12-17-05, 12:10 PM | Calimshan source book is what I would want -Well, there is Calimport, but that is for 2e. If 120 pages or so, we have quite a few NPCs for our game sessions to use... -Well, they have stats for lots of those guys, but they are thrown across the multitudes of sourcebooks that we have. I can understand what you mean, and a book like that would be pretty cool. They have something like that in Star Wars (Ultimate Adversaries and Ultimate Heroes, or something like that.) |
| dan123412-17-05, 12:39 PM | -Well, there is Calimport, but that is for 2e. Yeah, I know. . . But I would still like too see it published for 3.5. |

If it's a comprehensive history of Toril your seeking, this is the tome your looking for. A Grand History of the Realms combines the timelines from over 35 sourcebooks published over 15 years, into 100 pages of Forgotten Realms history. Every event is 100% canon in Forgotten Realms lore and contains a reference to the sourcebook in which it was published. Brian R. James |

| shandril8912-18-05, 09:56 PM | A lot of those sourcebooks have been published already. Mainly for 2nd editon D&D or older. They were under some different names, and were from a time period around DR 1350. Lots of older news. |
| Arivia12-18-05, 10:04 PM | A lot of those sourcebooks have been published already. Mainly for 2nd editon D&D or older. They were under some different names, and were from a time period around DR 1350. Lots of older news. The Gazetteer made it to one issue, the closest thing there is to a historical supplement is Lost Empires of Faerun, there has never been an actual Sembian sourcebook(that whole "DM's playground" idea did that), and the Heroes' and Villains' Lorebooks do not make for a really good collection of characters(in fact, the closest we've ever gotten to that is in the Old Gray Box). I'd love to see a sourcebook on what exists north of the Spine of the World/Great Glacier/Cold Lands, and a sourcebook dedicated specifically to Impiltur/Damara/Narfell-if George Krashos could write it. |
| Cli' San Aquanova12-20-05, 06:33 PM | The Gazetteer made it to one issue, the closest thing there is to a historical supplement is Lost Empires of Faerun, there has never been an actual Sembian sourcebook(that whole "DM's playground" idea did that) Hence my desired Sembia/Cormyr sourcebook proposal... :waits: I'd love to see a sourcebook on what exists north of the Spine of the World/Great Glacier/Cold Lands, and a sourcebook dedicated specifically to Impiltur/Damara/Narfell-if George Krashos could write it. I agree with the Damaran/Vaasa/Narfell supplement. I somewhat like those regions (the Cold Lands) moreso than the North (maybe it's because Illuskans bore me and Damarans and their kin pique my interest). They could detail Bloodstone Pass(es) and the Galena Mountains, as well as the gemstone mines located there. Yes, a Cormyr/Sembia and Damara/Vaasa/Cold Lands plethora would please me greatly... :ayyyy!: -C'SA :u:Bring Back Merfolk!!!:u: |
| aliira-sunstar12-20-05, 06:50 PM | New North sourcebook, detailing ill-described and unmapped cities/towns/ areas like MIRABAR (god, been whining about that for over a year and a half :P), Xantharl's Keep, Grunwald, The Lurkwood (geez I had to make all the lore and specific areas on that up), a dungeon on Spine of The World and CONCRETE info about the barbarian tribes with main camping sites. Anyways, I have created a settlement (complete with all NPCS, genreal description, a small shrine and tavern + a mini-adeventure in the cliffs bordering Spine of the World) in Lurkwood and a small town (jumbled up a bunch a pre-existing sourcebook materials, like 2ED Shadowdale, Mystara, LoTR mini-adventure, WoTC viciuos venues and Magic of Faerun merchant) just outside its northwest. The settlement is called Entvalle and the town is Shining Spire- if anyone is interested I'll post them up. |
| Link18212-20-05, 07:36 PM | Bloodstone Lands, definetly. |
| Lord Karsus12-20-05, 11:00 PM | Wouldn't it be cool if we were listened to? |
| Blackheart12-20-05, 11:58 PM | Hmm...not much more to say. More regional sourcebooks and a Gazetteer would definitely be useful, as well as a consolidated history. These would make running the game easier and would be a nice resource for those who like to give a little more when creating their characters, as they can parallel their own backstory timeline with things that happened without having to crack every resource they have available to find out the whens and wheres. I know this might sound sorta silly, but I also would like a map that details power holdings of the various power groups/societies that are non-soveriegn, such as, say, The Zhentarim. It would be like the regional maps, only color coded or something of that sort. Would make a prime Dragon insert or bonus to some product or another, in my opinion. |
| Mr. FIXIT12-23-05, 04:24 AM | Dalelands... Ohh... I would even give up my raiding Viking-life for this book :)... Seriously though, it's about time we got a book that dealt with the dalelands... I shall write a letter stating my wish to Santa *now* :) |
| WotC_RichBaker12-23-05, 12:19 PM | Say, Brian, this is some outstanding work. A very useful compilation. Makes me wonder why we didn't do this ourselves. Anyway, thanks for the hard work! | Venomous12-23-05, 04:33 PM | Zhentil Keep, Amn, Calimsham!!! Bring back Volo's guides! |
| HVulpes12-23-05, 04:35 PM | Ones that I would like to see: 1.A Planar Book (with details on planar locations, new realm specific outsiders, Planartouch Stones, etc) 2.A more detail book on Dieties not touched on in Faith and Pantheons (perhaps split into two books: One for Human and one for Demihuman/Monster Diety). (With details running a church, church organizations (like in CoV and CoS), etc) 3.A series that takes an in depth look at some of the major Characters races. Like The "Races of..." Series only Realms Specific for the realms. (Especially Elves, Half-elves and Planetouched) 4.A book of characters that DM/Players might want to import. (like Hero and Villain Lorebooks) 5. A book or series that details the realms outside of Faerun (Kar-tur, Maztica, heck even Selune/Realmspace) 6.A new expanded Monsters of Faerun (Especially to update the Monster to 3.5 stats). 7.A book that details classic and new Faerun Magical items Including Major Artifacts. Just some basic ideas. Thanks. |
| Lawless12-23-05, 04:38 PM | Anything that detailed Chondalwood. |
| Fabius Maximus12-25-05, 08:28 AM | Bloodstone Lands, definetly. Quoted for emphasis. |
| Mr. Wilson12-26-05, 12:21 AM | Lands of Intrigue, Coldlands, Calimshan, Heartlands, Silver Marches update, Sword Coast, Lake of Steam, etc., etc., etc. Lands of Intrigue is my highest concern though. |
| Iakhovas12-27-05, 11:27 AM | Say, Brian, this is some outstanding work. A very useful compilation. Makes me wonder why we didn't do this ourselves. Anyway, thanks for the hard work! Thanks for the kind words Rich. As for supplements that need to be published, I'll cast my vote for an Island Nations sourcebook covering Lantan, Nimbral, Evermeet and the Moonshaes. |
| Nynshari12-27-05, 01:39 PM | More sourcebooks on areas and/or cities, like the SM, SK and the Waterdeep sourcebooks. I'd eventually like to see one on all the areas, like The High Forest, Anaurock, the Moonshaes, etc. In those books they could reprint some of the 2E stuff that hasn't changed and bring together the far-flung 3/3.5E stuff from the novels and other books about a place all into one book. I like the idea of the Candlekeep book/newsletter as well. T |

Yes, especially the Draconomicon. I'd also like to add, something that would detail those [I]Chosen by their various dieties. Also follow-up more on the other 4 creator races, with the much needed correction to that list. Humans are not one of them, they were made by the Giants. Which were erroniously replaced by pumans, when referred to in SK. :( |
| Mathas12-31-05, 09:55 PM | A couple of source books I would like to see published are Sea of Fallen Stars and an Undrmountain Source book. True an Underrmountain boxed set was published for 2nd Ed. but since then I'm sure a lot has changed in the underhalls and skull port |
| Mad Mage01-01-06, 01:23 AM | How about a supplement devoted to all the divine (or otherwise popular) non-Material planes in the Realms universe? Maybe planes such as Cynosure, The Supreme Throne, Dwarfhome, and others could all get pictures, maybe some more elaborate write-ups on them, etc. |
| Asgetrion01-02-06, 06:58 PM | They need to make a sourcebook for Cormyr and Sembia. It would be awesome. Hell, Sembia alone would make a great sourcebook. I would wee myself with ecstasy if they made a sourcebook for Cormyr and Sembia. I completely agree... even a single region book including both Cormyr and Sembia (half a book for each) would be great! My dream tome would also include 'Return to the Haunted Halls' as a module :) Not to mention the Complete & Accurate history for Cormyr, including more info on the Sword Heralds and the Mages Regal (who seem to be almost copies of each other :). Let's not forget about the complete list of nobles, more info on architecture, heraldry, etcetera. |
| VonRaventheDaring01-12-06, 03:26 AM | I have to agree that Sembia, and the dalelands could be done again. As well as many other regions for a 3.5 edition update i mean they already did waterdeep again so why not. As for new material i would love to see some stuff on the lake of steam region, as well as exploring the far reaches of Toril the other lands suchs as the far east, and south. Of course i would love a book on the gnomes the forgotten folk of the forgotten realms? But then i'm on a gnome kick right now. |
