| Dark Alex04-20-05, 07:12 AM | My 18th level CG Half Orc Frenzied Berserker has been in an uneasy alliance with a 15th level Wizard 1st Level Lich who has had feeblemind cast on her. I have been offered two camels and a goat for her or I can go on a quest to slay a dragon in the Spine of the World mountains to have her restored. Suggestions or better offers please. |
| Jonah04-20-05, 08:01 AM | Personally, I'd sell yourself to the arabs as the ultimate sacrifice after stripping off all your magical kit and giving it to the mage, use some of your money as payment to guide her to the nearest Temple where she can get healed and give the rest of your cash to the mage. The advantage of this is that you would then get to spend many an enjoyable evening roleplaying a half orc goat hurder by day and belly dancer by night. :D |
| Dark Alex04-20-05, 11:36 AM | Have found a third way. Sold the silly bint :D to the desert nomads and took the mission to slay the dragon anyway. |
| Jonah04-20-05, 02:18 PM | Is there a prestige class called "Frenzied Belly Dancer?" |
| The Simbul04-20-05, 04:16 PM | Feeblemind is an Enchantment (Compulsion) [Mind-Affecting] spell. A Lich is an undead creature. Undead are immune to Mind-Affecting effects. The Wizard you speak of cannot be feebleminded. |
| Nyat04-20-05, 08:26 PM | He said that the wizard only had 1 level in Lich, which according to this (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/sp/20031212a) has no immunity to mind-affecting effects. Oh almost thought the same thing, but then I reread what he said to make sure I understood what he said and noticed the 1 level of Lich thing. |
| Dark Alex04-21-05, 03:59 PM | Ok Jonah, sorry for selling your spellbook for 5 copper pieces but I got you unfeebleminded in the end. |
| Jonah04-23-05, 04:04 PM | I guess you might find out how to kill a frenzied barbarian who is 3 levels higher than you on Monday night, without rolling initiative. |
| Dark Alex04-24-05, 05:04 AM | And without any spells either. Very impressive. :P |
| Jonah04-24-05, 05:48 AM | the feat Spell Mastery is always a useful one to have :P |
| Dark Alex04-24-05, 08:35 AM | Maybe one day you'll remember to take it. :D You ready for the Dragon? I was figuring you could distract it by getting caught in its teeth and really annoying it while I do the real work. :P |
| Jonah04-24-05, 01:00 PM | I believe half orc hide is slightly tougher than human/ 1/4 Lich so I'd imagine that you'd be more suited to the job. Then I cast Poison on you and as soon as the dragon swallows you it kills itself. Or failing that you get eaten and I run away. ;) Ever considered that it might be a Dracholiche? |
| Dark Alex04-24-05, 05:56 PM | Yeah but I can't see you taking a dragon one on one, although with your paralysing touch it could be quite funny if it was to swallow you whole. Anyway I think this thread is pretty much finished since you are no longer feebleminded although I am starting to feel nostalgic for those good old days. :P |
| Jonah04-24-05, 08:57 PM | Was just wondering though that if your Int has been reduced to 1 but you have a Wisdom of 13 how that would affect your character. My way of thinking says intelligence tells you that the wet stuff falling on your head is rain and wisdom tells you to take an umbrella with you. So surely if you're feebleminded, it should affect your wisdom too otherwise it doesn't seem to make sense. Mind you, this train of thought is from someone who firmly believes that logic was only invented to contradict my way of thinking. |
| Dark Alex04-25-05, 01:57 AM | Normally I'd say yeah, Wis=Common Sense, but for animal level intelligence I'd look at it more from a cunning point of view. You can still tell friend from foe and join in combat, so I'd say that would come in for example on your combat tactics, flanking the opponent etc. In non combat you might be suspicious of possible traps in an enemies lair. I'd generally put memory firmly in the domain of Wisdom but thats just my opinion. |
