Whats the best way to get new playeres into the game? [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-29-06, 10:49 PM hey im on the star war's mini bored most of the time but my freind and me are going to start a game at are local game store but uh....theres new players who want to join and they are slow learners dose anyone have any good idea's on how we could get them into the game quickly (and hope they dont get mad since im a very young gold dragon put in to keep them alive). Also any tips on geting people to join? so far we have MAYBE 4 players 1 expert, 1 phsycopath and 2 or 3 new players and we would like to get more involved since where going to be geting into the war between bahamut and tiamat once we level up enough.....so ya...any tips that can help me would be great.:)

10-31-06, 12:39 PM -Force is usually the best way. It isn't always condusive to good playing, though. Had to play when your players are tied up and gagged...:plotting:

11-01-06, 07:14 AM Free food and drinks will bring people in. Just don't tell them that they have to wait until after they play for the free food and drinks. ;)

11-01-06, 02:02 PM if your friend is mostly into minis, try d&d minis to start with, purchase some of the adventurs that provide some support for minis useage and try running him through a "mini heavy" adventure.
using products you know someone already likes to lure them into another game via a "gateway game" is a useful tatic and one that CAN work.
I managed to bring my friend ryan into battletech via the Battletech CCG.

11-05-06, 12:04 AM the minis worked lol...i got a guy drooling over a lord of blades i pulled =P and a few others joined because they think the mini's look cool so far the party is....(no laughing at what i am)

Young Gold Dragon Druid (me ya ya a laught it up but i made my self weaker then normal so i can level faster i only got +5 lvl ajustment)
MindFlayer Warmage (100% noob but i traded him my archvillan so he likes mindflayers now...)
Human Monk (who is a really good player)
Drow Warlock (who also happens to be a necropheliac and loves to make zombies to er...practice his hobbys with....also a complete noob plus i need a drow mini now)
Elf Fighter (he is gonna be a dragonkith no one tell him the mini is female)

and then theres... my freind who is probely going to be the worlds most anoying halfing or messed up freaky race posibal.
