I was just thinking. It might be fun to roleplay the characters of Randland(for those who've read the series), stuck in FR(possibly without channeling).

They all have fairly decent histories to define their characters, and let's say, if you had Rand, you'd have the mission of having to return to your world and save it(or know that it is going to die for sure). Add the need for a space/time portal to take them back, and their situation could be interesting.

Plus, you could play them further when they get back to their own world(possibly retaining what magic and other skills they've learned... which may or may not end up being interesting)

----

.. Which makes you wonder what other characters crossed-over with FR might be fun. Lots I'd think.

-With the old Cosmology, this would be no problem. With the new one, however, the Realms seem a bit more cut off from the rest of the multiverse than before.

-I'm currently reading a novel that deals with crossovers into the Realms- Vampire of the Mists. It's a Forgotten Realms/Ravenloft crossover. So far, so good. In the past, there have been pleanty of instances of "crossovers".

Damn that is an old book.
As for the characters of Randland I think it would be interesting if they crossedover. However most of them would probably die without the ability to channel. Rand, Perrin and Mat might survive but most of the girls would be toast. Even the Forsaken would be killed, possibly when they said something to the wrong person and then tried to channel to get out of whatever situation they got themselves into. Loial would probably be ok until he tried to enter a town or city. Then they might kill him before he gets a chance to explain himself (and thats just assuming there is no language barrier). Any Aiel might be ok. Mostly it would just be the Aes Sedai that would likely get themselves killed especially since they are used to being in charge and commanding others, except now they do not have the ability to channel to back up their haughtiness.

-I just moved, and I found it in a box containing some of my stepfather's old books that he was getting rid of. I was like, to quote Dan, "ZOMG! This is Ravenloft and Forgotten Realms- Amazing!"

-But, since there are very few FR books I have yet to read, I think that branching out is a good idea.

With the new one, however, the Realms seem a bit more cut off from the rest of the multiverse than before. It may seem that way, but the many gates to other worlds haven't been retconned at all. You could have a direct transit or via the Wood between the Worlds.
