| sophocles08-05-04, 01:23 PM | Okay. so my PC's team has almost completed the CotSQ, and as the end approaches I consider where to go from here? A multitude of ideas begin to run rampant. But, I'm favoring an epic quest to recover the Regalia of Evil Artifacts [BoVD] before the baddies do. Has anyone considered or used he Regalia (Good or Evil) as a campaign idea? Or any thoughts on the idea. I have roughly outlined an idea of the Artifacts scattered throughout the realm with multiple forces hunting for the items for various reasons in conjunction with multiple plot twists with Protagonists and Antagonist as well. |
| sophocles08-05-04, 03:49 PM | okay,, so after more than a dozen views... no repsonses....? I begin to belive that the idea of an epic campaign based on the Evil Artifacts is either lame. Or, brand-new campaign idea? Again, I would welcome any thoughts to take the PC's to the next level pleeeeaaasseee............ |
| Lashan08-06-04, 06:20 AM | I have not read City of the Spider Queen, so I am not sure what goes on in it. Personally, you might want to leave the Underdark, or at least stop using drow as the main advesary. Evil Regalia? That could be fun. I think if you made it almost like Raiders of the Lost Ark, it could be fun. I think it is imperetive that you have several other NPC groups out there trying to recover it. Having them as reoccuring villians could be quite cool. |

As to epic artifact gathering, in the epic game that I'm currently in; Bahamut and Tiamat, have "quested" the party to recover all the orbs of dragonkind. We have 1 orb left. Of the starting members there are only 3, the rest have either left (moved or just don't show up), my character isn't one of the originals. The general gist of the quest was that the two (B & T) wanted to recover the orbs and hide them away so they can't be used against dragons. The party was given a special bag to put the orbs into, and as long as the orbs were never used, and placed into the bag, those that touched the orb to put them into the bag, wouldn't be subjected to the curse on the orbs. |
| sophocles08-09-04, 09:38 AM | Great posts Warlocko, Lashan. lol@RotLA. Great Idea. The PC's were closer to ECL's 12's When we started the CotSQ (though i made some of my own revisions to CotSQ to make it challenging). And they left the Underdark a few times, due to some unresolved sub-plot threads they opted to take care of.... but the characters now are: Human Paladin 10/Platinum Knight 10 LG. Human Female Cleric 20 NG. Male Gnome Sorcerer 10/Shadow Adept 10 NE. And a Male Halfling Rogue10/Assassin 10 NE. It makes for interesting play with dynamics of the alignments... as the cleric is trying constantly to have the gnome and halfing repent for their "mis-deeds" but both the paladin and cleric realize the benefits that the sor/sha and rog/asn bring to "table." Not to mention the sor/sha slayed a (fairly powerful) Cleric of Selune to gain acceptance into the Shadow's fold.... which 'In Game' is unknown to the PC Cleric. (Though Out of Game, I think the Cleric knows). I agree that having multiple NPC parties also searching for The Artifacts is a must... I'm drafting several groups now.... including a group of elite NPC's hand-crafted from the Underdark accessory book.... (which have a personal vendetta against the PC's already). The intro I have in mind is a bit cliche' and could use some help... but basically I'm thinking that a long long time ago the 3 Items were collected by an Evil Lich who sought to destroy all the living in the land, turning them into a controllable force of undead who's ultimage goal was Godhood; there was a Heroic Battle which ended in the Lich being banished, but not necessarily defeated, and the Items being scattered throughout Faerun. Fast forward to the present. The Lich, having seriously grown in power and hatred over the years seeks to reclaim the Items; thus granting him the ability to end his banishment, return to the land to exact his vengeance and again reach a Godhood-state. He employes various groups (not all aware of eachother) working in concert to recover the items. And the forces of "Good" racing to reclaim the items before the forces of Evil. And, the PC's (with both "good" and "evil" connections) smack in the middle. I figure somewhere in the middle, the PC's will need to locate the corpses of the Party that banished the Lich before, gaining invaluable insight leading them further in the "race" and further into the plot.... Sorry this post Is SO LONG... but Please let me know what ya think...... any changes... likes, dislikes.... etc......... |
| sophocles08-10-04, 09:35 AM | I've outlined the basic intro of this new campaign.... Does anyone have any thoughts? |
| The Forgotton Slayer08-10-04, 10:58 AM | After CotsQ The i would play bastion of broken souls since sotSQ takes you to lvl 18 and Bastion of broken souls is REALLY GOOD. Its about the party having to prevent adragon eatin the souls so people get born without a soul. Demons also want to kill the dragon for a Reason. |
| sophocles08-10-04, 11:33 AM | that sounds cool.. is it a printed campaign supplement? but as far as my idea is concerned do you have any particular thoughts, revisions, etc... |
| The Forgotton Slayer08-10-04, 11:46 AM | its a already made campaign for d&d 3.0 version You fight alot of half-dragons and demons. Its also a really good puzeel adventure but you can't play it without a wizard because you need to travel onplanes and stuff like that. Youre Pcs gets to kill a Demigod BUT if youre PCs rely to much on their gods to help them then this is hard because it is a ban stuff which prevents gods to do enything. An eternal demonic war draws dangerously close to an end, threatening the balance of all existence. At the crux of this chaotic feud resides a legendary terror fixated upon immortality at any cost.only powerfull heroes can deafet somethig beyond the influence of the Gods. If you have played the sunless citidal you will notice that it has something to do with this. |
| sophocles08-10-04, 11:48 AM | sounds awesome... i'll definately check this one out... tyvm. |
