Tell me more about what you know of the players and their characters (I assume you were looking for a location that would specifically suit your party since you bothered mentioning their classes).

What are the characters races, levels, backgrounds, et cetera?

In general good starting points would be those given the most detail. For an urban setting where pretty much anything goes (or can make the attempt anyway) go for Waterdeep, the City of Splendors or some other cosmopolitan area (Baldur's Gate, Westgate, et cetera).

If Myth Drannor interests you give Silverymoon a try, it's the closest thing to a livng Myrh Drannor that we've got, art and community are held in high regards there.

If you're looking for a rural setting how about the Dalelands, or the countryside of Cormyr? Both of these regions have received tons of support and are just waiting for adventurers like your PCs to dive in and stir up some trouble.

Given more information I might be able to come up with a more specific locale. Hope that helps.

Thanks, hopefully this information will help. The whole party likes to usually skip the RP and go staight to the combat when ever they can. They also like to be in big cities and forests with lots of life ecspecially enemies. So any kind of big cities with lots of wilderness surrounding it would be good. There are two elves one human and one duegar. They are all level 1.

Sounds like your party needs to take a field trip into Coromanthyr :D

Though on second thought, since your party is lvl 1, the Hullack Forest in Cormyr is a good place for low level adventures. When they get to higher level, you can guide them over to Coromanthyr for Drow and Fiend hunting.

It's all a matter of opinion. We have people that alternate DMing to avoid burnout. I have a campaign based mostly in Silverymoon and the surrounding areas. We also have a campaign running in Immilar in Rasheman. We have a game running in the Menzoberanzan area of the Underdark. And even one in either the Moonshae's or Nelanther Isles (not yet decided). Do some research and pick what you think you and the players will enjoy. If you cool fights aboard ships go with the Sword Coast or an Island; If you want a high magic area go with Silverymoon or Waterdeep, If you want very militaristic go with Cormyr, If you want a very stealthy and thievery based campaign look into Amn or the Underdark, Raging barbarians charging the battle field look into The North or Rasheman. It's all relative after all.

i'd look at their character creation ie:subraces regions etc and then find a middle of the road meeting point. and if they don't like this part of the game then try to show them how it helps you plan outa campaign thats how i got my message across.
my newest campaign has characters from the east(rashemen), sword coast(baldurs gate), and evereska so i'm thinking of starting them in Cormyr or Sembia, and Waterdeep is always a good place to start.
my favorite place to start is usually the north though with its diversity of places and opponents to encounter.:behold:

Silverymoon is a cosmopolitan area in the middle of some rather harsh wilderness, so I'd suggest that as a start location. There are plenty of woodland areas nearby, and the High Forest is less than four or five days to the south.

The duergar (gray dwarf) might have some problems getting into Silverymoon, but if his true nature is examined by the Spellguard (He's good right?) then there shouldn't be any trouble.

A fighter, a rogue and two wizards?

But no CLERIC?!?

Are you mad? Clerics are the glue that keeps a party together. I mean, sure, I guess the rogue could carry a wand of cure light wounds and with a high enough use magic device skill be a healing stick, but who is going to provide for the spirtual growth of the characters?

If nothing else, at least throw 'em an NPC cleric. Someone's gotta put the fear of the Gods into 'em.

Bloody heathens...
