Who are the 'Keepers'? [Archive] - Wizards Community

02-13-06, 01:13 PM A few weeks back, while reading some info in City of Splendors: Waterdeep sourcebook, I noticed that in the Allies section of the Waterdeep entry it mentions a group called 'the Keepers.' I cannot find any info on a group with this name.

I know there are a few groups throughout the Realms that are called 'Keepers of ___' but none in and around Waterdeep that I can remember.

Does anyone here know?

There's the Cryptkeepers Alliance in the Dungeon of the Crypt, but I'm guessing the reference is to the Keepers of Skullport. See the 2e product "Skullport" for more details.

I spent most of yeterday reading the whole of City of Splendors and I can't seem to find what I saw. I think it's possible that I mistook seeing this entry in the 3e book and might have seen it in the old 2e City of Splendors boxed set. I'm always referring back and forth between editions since 2e still has such good content. I looked quickly through the campaign guide but came up nil.

I remember seeing an entry (to what I thought was the Waterdeep city entry, the one with total assets and the like) with one of the last lines showing allies. Along with the Harpers and the usual suspects one of the groups was 'The Keepers.' I couldn't help but think of the Keepers from Thief: Deadly Shadows.

In hindsight, it could have been an entry on the Lords of Waterdeep but I checked most sources for entries on the Lords and came up with nothing.

I know I didn't imagine this. Please let me find it again and I'll bring it back up. Thanks for looking anyway.
