Who are the most skilled assassins in the Moonsea? [Archive] - Wizards Community

09-16-03, 12:23 PM My players, located in Phlan, might soon come under attack by a band of highly skilled assassins (or perhaps just one). The assassins might be hired by the Zhenteriem, I'm not 100% sure on that yet though. Is there a group of assassins that would take work in the Moonsea area? Thanks for any suggestions or advice :).

09-16-03, 03:47 PM It has been stated that Mulmasterites are the masters of poison. It has been commented that it is hard to sleep at night for all the people that are plotting against each other. I am sure that you could find some assassins in Mulmaster.

Zhentil Keep would have the Zhentarium, but I doubt anyone else of any skill would operate in the city.

Melvaunte's crime of choice is blackmailing, not murder.

Hillsfar seems more full of brutes and soliders.

I would say that Mulmaster is your best choice.

09-16-03, 07:09 PM either mulmaster of followers of Cyric are the best options. Just pick how you want them to die based on thier weaknesses (skilled assassins know to scope them enemy for them) and do a bit of studying.

09-17-03, 09:28 AM I'd like it to be a group that, once they find out whom is after them, they'll choose to flee Phlan rather than stay there and risk further attacks. Fire Knives sounds good for that, but aren't they too far? Cyricist's sound good as well, but I'm reluctant to use them.
btw, I appreciate all the advice :).

09-18-03, 10:23 AM Personally, you can always create your own. Sometimes, those are the best. There are tons of bad guys out there that aren't listed in the books. Not every bad person fits into one of the few evil organizations out there. I say make up your own!
