In the game I am running there is both a monk and a cleric of Selune. As a little campaign plot I was thinking about having a big festival on a night with a Full-Moon.

I want this festival to go horribly wrong. Have not decided yet if I want someone to be kidnapped or just an unexpected attack.....that part doesn't really matter right now. Here's my question..........

Who is the better choice for people to crash the party?

A) Followers of Shar.

B) Followers of Malar. (aka People of the Black Blood)

I think both would work okay because they both clearly despise the Moonmaiden. I am just wondering what you guys think. Which group is more likely to crash a Festival of the Moon?

C.) The city watch, whom have a follower of Malar prisoner. The Watch came in, to regroup. The Malar prisoner starts a ruckus with the followers of Selune.....

Followers of Malar. Probably even LYCANTHROPE followers...:smirk:

Nothing would be better than to smear their claws in Seluneworshiper's blood on a full moon.:behold:

Cyricists masquerading as Malar worshipers to promote his deception lies and murder portfolios.

At which time of year is it? It's could be Auril who suddenly decide the winter will be early this year.

Other than this, I prefer the idea of Malar worshippers, either Cyrists disguised as Malarist or lycanthropes.

After this, everything is good: a black dragon, drows hunting followers of the "Moon Maiden", zombis lead by a lonely necromancer or the church of Velsharoon, ogres/orcs/goblins...

Something even weird: the church of Selune asked followers of Sharess to organize the dance. Jealous, followers of Lliira do everything for the festival go wrong. But those followers turned to have been corrupted by Gargauth himself.

Morka you may be on to something here. The is a cleric of Sharess in the group too so I may try to work that in.

Thanks for the input.

Maybe there doesn't need for someone to necessarily "crash the party" but something instead. Say an omen where the moon is the colour of blood, or a priestess falls into convulsions speaking in a bizarre voice some prophecy. This could be a true sending from the gods, or some charlatan or other "influence" playing deceptions.

Maybe followers of Shar, favoring to let others do the dirty work and take the blame, convince clerics/followers of Malar that it would be worthwhile (or just plain fun) to go rampaging. And I DO like the idea of lycanthropes pulling it off.

That's my whole 1 1/2 cents

Personally, I bote for the Malarites... They even have a reputation for it to some degree (they're mentioned in the Vilhon Reach supplement for doing just that at some of the fesivals and feasts). Maybe having some followers trying to kidnap people in the noise of the revel so as to organize one of their hunts? PCs could then hunt the hunters while the hunters were hunting the victims they kidnapped. See who can catch who first.

That being said, all of the options above have some very good points.

Though I do think that followers of Liira wouldn't care if they planned it or not, they'd just party anyway. They don't seem to be the kind to take a slight over that, they might be planning they're own gig anyway and then just enjoy the combo.
