| Element Master01-14-07, 10:22 PM | My friend and I just started a new campaign. I had just watched Revenge of the Sith and wanted the overall villain to be Jedi-like. I know that there is a Star Wars game already, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to portray the classic Jedi abilities in FR terms. Thanks in advance |
| Lord Karsus01-14-07, 11:40 PM | -The SWRPG can easily be converted into 3e D&D. The Force can easily be adapted into a form of Psionics, without making many changes. Jedi can be used mostly as is from the SWRPG, or alternativley, Monk/Psychic Warrior/Fighter/Psion combinations. |
| BrianCritchley01-15-07, 01:00 AM | wizard/monk or wizard fighter seems your best bet |
| Lord Karsus01-15-07, 01:07 AM | wizard/monk or wizard fighter seems your best bet -No, not Wizard. If you are intent on using the Arcane, it'd gotta be Sorcerer. They have the entire, "It comes from me" thing going on, whereas Wizards don't. |
| Old Sage01-15-07, 01:25 AM | I have, on occasion, felt that the Mindknights present a very basic Jedi-like theme in D&D. See here:- http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/re/20020819a |
| _SIN_01-16-07, 06:16 PM | Surely a Psionicist/fighter is much more logical than a magic wielder?... For starters, it'd be hard to try to 'jedi mind-trick' someone when you're pulling spell components out, mixing them, crushing them, burning them etc, all the while chanting and waving ones arms, hands and fingers all about the place???..... |
| Element Master01-16-07, 06:29 PM | Thanks all. I had thought of taking the right monk features and plugging them into a class progression, but I had been trying to stay away from becoming an outsider and from damage reduction. One thing that nobody mentioned; what about the lightsaber and/or Sith sword? |
| Lord Karsus01-16-07, 06:57 PM | what about the lightsaber and/or Sith sword? -Saber (FRCS), with the Brilliant Energy enchantment. |
| _SIN_01-16-07, 07:08 PM | You could add a special to the weapon too - cauterise wound! I'd settle for a monk/psionicist as the class. Another thought... What about making the character planetouched? That way your wannabe Sith lord can come complete with his stumpy little horns and/or other 'demonic' physical traits?... |
