| The Last Guardian06-14-07, 02:01 AM | So my current campaign is set 1372 DR, and I have a Netherese Arcanist trapped by a "Trap the Soul' spell and was imprisoned before The Fall. Once freed he wouldn't know time by 'Dale Reckoning' and so that got me thinking, how did the Netherese (and others for that matter) count the rolling of the years? To the Netherese what was the year that The Fall took place? Thanks in advance :D |
| Gray Richardson06-14-07, 11:14 PM | Netheril counted years in Netheril Years. 1 NY = -3859 DR The Fall happened in 3520 NY = -339 DR |

| Old Sage06-15-07, 07:56 PM | See the section on "Elven Concepts of Time and Histories" in Cormanthyr. Additionally, we have this bit from Steven Schend - "I think I pretty much covered this in CORMANTHYR ten years or so back; I'll try and scare up the exact words/details on the terms you're asking on, but can't think of them offhand. In general, I suspect elves won't acknowledge tendays that often, save when dealing with humans or something very exacting. If you read elven histories, they rarely discuss things (except those of major import) that last less than ten years save the birth or passing of major personalities. But then again, I may have to reread my old comments on elves and time and revise said commentary. ASAP....but probably not this month. Steven who has to meet a deadline" |
