| Blibbering_Humdinger10-31-07, 02:40 PM | Outlandish Make-Believe Scenario Time in celebration of Halloween! Hooray! Hooray! Miniature giant space hamsters all around, like little furry bits of confetti! :invasion: Just don't step on any of them--they squeak. The scenario is this: you, as a reader and/or player, have the ability to enter the Forgotten Realms as a character of your choosing, for a limited period of time equal to ONE Realms year--twelve three-tenday months, that is. Your point of arrival is any inn, and the innkeeper will act as if you rented a room the previous night. As for your character's abilities, you have the mystical equivalent of a GameShark--you can make your levels, statistics, spells, etc. anything you wish. But you have no equipment beyond ordinary non-magic clothing suitable to your class, spell components for any spells you might be able to cast, a moderate amount of food and camping equipment, and only 200 G.P. to start with, so you'll have to work a bit for what you need. You do not even have weapons. So off with you--off to the local smith! Go on, scoot! During this one year, it is your duty to do anything in the Realms that you wish done. You can't interfere with divine events, of course, but you can do anything else. Just dungeon-crawl until either time runs out and you can't fight nomore; assassinate Elminster; walk up to Drizzt Do'Urden and tell him exactly what you think of his novels (and be looked at like a madman in return). It's your party. Just know that the entire Forgotten Realms can potentially be changed by your godlike actions, and that those changes will be (gasp!) reflected in all novel and game products in the real world. So... who are you, and what will you do? |
| Rinonalyrna Fathomlin10-31-07, 02:50 PM | I am myself, a peeved reader of the Watercourse Trilogy. All I need to do is find Phyrea and assassinate her when she is still a helpless infant. Then I can return home, happy in the knowledge that I've forever removed that disgusting stain of a character from the Realms--a beautiful setting which did not deserve to have Phyrea inflicted upon it. :) |
| MarkusTay6310-31-07, 03:11 PM | Can't intefere with divine events? That leaves me out.... Hmmmm... actually, maybe there's still away of getting rid of the ToT. Go back in time and kill Myrkul before he ascends. I rather like the guy, and wish there was some other way, but it's either him or Bane... and at least we still keep Jergal. Bhaal was really not the thinker in the group, so killing him would probably accomplish nothing. |
| johnkretzer10-31-07, 03:42 PM | I would go kill Cyric before he ascended...so many thing would be soo much better... |

| Scathlock10-31-07, 04:16 PM | I'd go in the guise of a mysterious benevolent sun elven stranger with ridiculous scores in Intelligence, Wisdom and Charisma and complete knowledge of Realmslore to the current date, including the last-page-"prophecies" (or at least as much as I've picked up so far), plus a reasonable knowledge about politics and strategy. The time I'd appear in would be roughly 3 to 4 centuries before the current date. I'd take a trip to Evermeet via Elfgate, constantly mumbling the true names of all the Chosen. Then I'd meet with king Zaor, his queen and the powers-of-good-that-be, including of course sensible folk such as El and Khel, and tell them everything I think they should know about the calamities to come. Since my character is so incredibly diplomatic and has got an overwhelming personality, integrity and wisdom, plus he is one of those noble sun elves, they would of course believe him (me) and take all necessary measures. As a result, I fear the western realms to the longitude of Cormanthor would become a peaceful if somewhat dull civilization, an alliance of independent free-minded little countries under the aegis of the well-meaning high kingship of old Zaor, (fondly nicknamed "the Gardener") while in the east little pockets of civilization strive against the rule of the Thayans, who were the only powergroup of evil with enough contingency plans to overcome their disadvantage against the might of Lore, and thus a point of rally for villains from the west (Fzoul and Manshoon are Thayan generals). So, there would be still lots of opportunities of adventure for those so inclined ^^. Ah, of course, the rest of the yar (roughly 359 days) I'd spend sightseeing in the company of my newfound grateful friends (those that aren't hard at work to prevent disaster, that is) |
| elondir10-31-07, 04:17 PM | I go to Waterdeep in 1356 DR as a human factotum 20, where I proceed to enjoy a year of decadent revelry at the local temple of Lastai. |
| Stigger10-31-07, 04:18 PM | Killing Cyric before the Time of Troubles seems a good idea... ignoring that whole fated destiny outcome possibility... |
| Suin Bahhar10-31-07, 05:11 PM | I'd play an epic arcane prodigy human with a skill to learn from mentally reading minds and absorbing arcane power. I'd get my hands as soon as possible on all planar magic and set contingencies for friendly or important minds I need to read to be shunted into my personal plane (which I create asap) when emergancies such as the spellplague hit. I'll try to meet or scry on the greatest minds of the planet and synthisese all arcane knowhow including all spell related to Karsus Folly. Then I'll make a study on the weave and its relation to planar magic fully. After the spellplague hits I'll cast an epic spell absorbing the weave before its destruction, channel it into a personal demiplane for storage, and become the most POWERFULL ARCANE BEING ON THE PLANET TORIL. Bwahahahahhahhahah!!!!!!! |

So... who are you, and what will you do? Multi-class sorceror and cleric of Helm with Mystic Theurge prestige class something like 4th/3rd/2nd and a member of an order of knights dedicated to learning everything to know about the realm for the specific purpose of protecting it from the "evils" projected by both good and evil thereby helping prevent another dawn crusade and the bane-myrkul-bhaal debacle. Otherwise poses as a neophyte adventurer who seems to be a simple cleric of Helm trained to fight in armour and wield the favoured weapon of his faith otherwise a normal adventurer seemingly absolutely normal, but hiding the fact he is one of many selected to help protect the realm from a future calamity that remains to be revealed... |
| Joneleth_Starym10-31-07, 06:02 PM | I would enter the realms as Joneleth Starym, i would enter the realms in the time of the crown wars. I would be a mighty sorceror, and i would make the pledge of helping the innocent elves transformed into drow, Corellon would cast a mighty blessing on me, making me immortal, giving me awsome power and having the appearance of a drow. Then i would go down to the underdark and would hunt matron mothers, yotchols, Lolth's evil priestess. While i would be doing that i would go to other planes and would learn to tap the power of another source, if possible mightier than the Weave, and would try to get power behond any god. Then after ages in the Underdark i would go to the Surface, mightier than a god, and would revert to my original appearance (that of a Sun elf). Now i would help the good drow to be accepted by the elves, possibly making a treaty allowing them to go to Evermeet. Then i would prevent all major catastrophes about to happen. After all that, i would disappear to lands in Faerun where i wouldnt be known and i would appear as a normal elf and would help the people. Something along those lines... |
| Lord Karsus10-31-07, 06:18 PM | -I think I'd have to go back and prevent Eltargrim from Opening Myth Drannor. |
| Bluenose11-01-07, 06:08 AM | "Mr Karsus. I'm your careers advisor. I really don't think that arcane magic as the best career for you. Can I suggest something more suitable for your talents, such as gravedigging?" |
| Blibbering_Humdinger11-01-07, 11:07 AM | My turn! My turn! BOO SAYS MY TURN!!! :fight!: I materialize in whatever year Baldur's Gate takes place in, at the Candlekeep Inn as a level-two-hundred-and-forty-six-point-five (246.5) Bhaalspawn female drow fighter/mage/cleric with spellbook and cleric scrolls filled to the brim with all manner of magical... stuff. The first thing I do is strip off and indulge my curiousity as to what it feels like to be the opposite gender. After that, I assassinate Abdel Adrian, mentally manipulate Gorion and Imoen into believing I am Gorion's ward, and proceed to establish Lo'larai Zaknori the Evil and Almighty as the canon protagonist of the Child of Bhaal storyline. With my gamer's omniscience as my guide, I immediately slaughter all bandits single-handed, slay Drizzt Do'Urden and steal his equipment, slay the wizard who comes to take them back, and hunt down Sarevok, leaving him in so many bloody pieces. I then take my godlike stats and challenge Elminster to a one-on-one battle of wizards. I then proceed to have him killed by archers--I take no chances, old man, sorry. I deal similarly with Khelben Arunsun, the Seven Sisters, and the rest of Mystra's chosen. Having done as much blatant harm as possible to the Forgotten Realms during my allotted year, I depart for my home world, but not before shouting out for all readers to read: "HA! AND YOU THOUGHT SPELLPLAGUE WAS BAD?! TAKE THAT, FANDOM!" I then leave Ed Greenwood and friends to pick up the pieces of a shattered campaign setting while I sit at home, savoring my victory over hot cocoa and pepperoni pizza. Obviously, my character's alignment is Chaotic Evil and she is a cleric of Cyric. :D |
| MarkusTay6311-01-07, 11:22 AM | Uh-uh. :nonono: I would go kill Cyric before he ascended...so many thing would be soo much better... Killing Cyric before the Time of Troubles seems a good idea... ignoring that whole fated destiny outcome possibility...That would still give us the ToT. Cyric is a symptom, not a cause. We must cure the disease itself if we wish to relieve the sypmtoms permanently. Someone else would just rise to take his place in the aftermath. No, we need to keep the 'evil three' from stealing the Tablets of fate, hence keeping the gods the Hell off Toril and becoming complete dweebs. Since the rule is we can't intefere with gods, we need to pop a cap in one of 'em BEFORE he ascends. My second favorite thing would be to take a copy of the GHotR with me back to -25,000 DR and show it to some dragons. This way, when the ebil Tintageer elves popped through the portal they'd have a REAL nice welcoming committee. |
| Alrunic Silverfyre11-01-07, 11:50 AM | I would travel back to when Elminister travels to Earth and speaks to Ed Greenwood. I would warn El to pass along the message of destruction and woe that will befall the Realms when WoTC took the reins to Ed so he can prevent it. Then, I'd kill Cyric. Just for kicks. |
| meto3011-01-07, 12:52 PM | I would enter at Aglarond and see the Simbul. Meto: Sorry, being a Korean with lots of experience with Japanese culture, I couldn't stand it! Simbul: What are you talking about? Meto: I am armed with plot armor! I cannot be resisted! (Measures Simbul's primary body size) Simbul: WHAT ARE YOU DOING? Meto: Plot armor! (disappears) That was a joke. Really. |
| 18DELTA11-01-07, 02:45 PM | I would go kill Cyric before he ascended...so many thing would be soo much better...  :cheer: :dancin: :king: :cloud9: :bounce: :heehee |
| Uzzy11-01-07, 03:52 PM | Who needs to kill Cyric? I'd just trip him up when he's running to Mount Waterdeep and hand those tablets over to Midnight. And then, of course, grin cheerfully when she says 'Thank you! If there's anything I can do to help?' and reply 'Oh, ask me again in a tenday or two, will you?' |
| Stigger11-01-07, 04:53 PM | Heh, Silly Markus, what makes you think I'd want to stop the ToT, particularly when I could find myself in Sune's path at some point? :D |
| Storm_Silverhand11-01-07, 06:23 PM | Heya, I'd start as a fairly high level Moon Elven Wizard/Cleric/MT, who for some mysterious reason is known to all of the Chosen of Mystra and trusted, arriving in the Realms just after the Time of Troubles (1359DR or so). I would seek them out and warn them of what is about to come (if I can ever find a copy of the GHotR I'd bring it with me to show them), then spend the rest of the year seeking ways of staying in the Realms to serve Mystra (Midnight - the one good thing to come out of the ToT IMHO), and prevent the calamity to come. I'd probably also make it a point to visit Cormyr at some point in my travels, since it has always been my favorite Human kingdom in the Realms. |
| johnkretzer11-02-07, 02:30 AM | Uh-uh. :nonono: That would still give us the ToT. Cyric is a symptom, not a cause. We must cure the disease itself if we wish to relieve the sypmtoms permanently. Someone else would just rise to take his place in the aftermath. I disagree really ToT didn't change anything...all it did was replace three interesting gods with a GDPC god. I didn't mind Midnight becoming the newest goddess of the weave because I found it interesting in the character adjusting and loosing her old mortal self a little to the job of maintaining the balance. And sure they might replace him but I updated the rules for Chronmancer to 3.x so I can just continue killing their replacements...:P My second favorite thing would be to take a copy of the GHotR with me back to -25,000 DR and show it to some dragons. This way, when the ebil Tintageer elves popped through the portal they'd have a REAL nice welcoming committee. But then we would of the Council of Wyrm setting.... |
| Chahir11-02-07, 07:55 PM | I would either: A) as a con 24 dwarven cleric of Haela Brightaxe, I would go on a bender of epic proportions with the aim of drinking EVERY SINGLE alcoholic beverage listed in Volo's guide to Waterdeep as a sendoff for the old gal B)Travel back in time as a deranged, top-hat wearing gnomish uber sniper/urban ranger to when Elminster was a petty crook in Hastarl, just 40 minutes before the scene from Making of a Mage when he is on the rooftops. I would find a good vantage point (preferably on a grassy knoll), set up the tripod for my +5 shocking blast blunderbuss of pwnage and, with a single shot, rid Faerun of a character that should IMHO be elevated to a lesser deity of condescension, curmudgeonliness and pipe-smoking. |
| Stigger11-02-07, 09:14 PM | What's the Pwnage special ability do stat wise? |
| Blibbering_Humdinger11-02-07, 09:40 PM | What's the Pwnage special ability do stat wise? Instant disintigration, no save, I would say. Does it get any more pwnage than that? :D |
| Stigger11-02-07, 10:41 PM | Well... if just death is your objective. It's missing that key element of inflicting atrocious pain and suffering beforehand though, so not exactly the sort of weapon I'd like. Maybe if the bolts caused massive ingrown toenails and compressed time so that you could feel them piercing your flesh with each second feeling like a month or so, subjectively... that might do it for me. Mind you the time would pass like it was only a second so only the pain lasted a month, with no effect on your ability to act... |
| MarkusTay6311-02-07, 10:56 PM | What's the Pwnage special ability do stat wise?It allows you to polymorph into Chuck Norris, and bestows the RoXxrz Feat. |
| Stigger11-03-07, 02:19 AM | Hmmm... now that's a special ability... in a short-bus sort of way... |
| Chahir11-03-07, 04:10 AM | It allows you to polymorph into Chuck Norris, and bestows the RoXxrz Feat. Ah yes, the Roxxrz feat chain... Its what made Walker Texas Ranger a viable character choice you know:D |
| johnkretzer11-03-07, 04:33 AM | I would travel back to when Elminister travels to Earth and speaks to Ed Greenwood. I would warn El to pass along the message of destruction and woe that will befall the Realms when WoTC took the reins to Ed so he can prevent it. Then, I'd kill Cyric. Just for kicks. I think this one wins.... |
| Alleran11-03-07, 04:52 AM | Be a ridiculously high level Moon Elf High Mage/Sorceror/Psion, become a Chosen of Mystra, perform Epic Magic to transform my race into that of a True Dragon, and ascend to godhood (or at least DvR 0) via the Dragon Ascendant class. Now a level 40-something character, I would then proceed to spend a few months hanging with Alustriel, Khelben, Elminster and the rest of the Chosen before finally returning to Earth, now an immortal god with a rather high degree of both magic and psychic strength. Before I leave, I would ensure that the gods take note of the knowledge I will be imparting to them regarding the future of the Realms, and thus they can take the appropriate measures to prevent it. Oh, and this would all take place before the Time of Troubles, so I'd kill Cyric somewhere along the line just because he irritates me. If I can get to higher levels of godhood in the process, it's all well and good, but I can accept staying at DvR 0 as long as I can accomplish everything else on my agenda. What else... oh, insert the appropriate bouts of rampant drinking, hanging with teh wimminz, and so on and so forth. Can't be distracted while I'm busy fixing the Realms, but afterward, it's fair game. ;) |
| Lord Karsus11-03-07, 08:02 PM | -I never got all the Chuck Norris jokes... |
| MattBlacke11-03-07, 08:25 PM | Who needs to kill Cyric? I'd just trip him up when he's running to Mount Waterdeep and hand those tablets over to Midnight. And then, of course, grin cheerfully when she says 'Thank you! If there's anything I can do to help?' and reply 'Oh, ask me again in a tenday or two, will you?' Need to kill him? Maybe not, on the other hand, it would be fun as heck. :evillaugh Me? High level Elf or Fey mage with Invisiblity, Haste, Time Stop (somehow maximized or extended) and the total of War and Peace's page count worth of Explosive Runes. Setting: Mount Waterdeep. Date: shortly before the ascension of Midnite and Cyric. Round 1: Spot Cyric running , cast Time Stop. Round 2, move up to Cyric, pluck tablets. Round 3 and 4, stuff said Explosive Runes all over Cyric's person. Round 5: Dimension Door out to max distance for a Dispel Magic. Round 6: Time Stop ends. Cast Dispel Magic, intentionally blow the check. After 'combat': Watch the fireworks. Stroll up the Mount, hand over the tablets to the nice young lady, maybe get a sainthood out of the deal. Chuckle to myself at the idea of the Goddess of Magic and the God of the Dead having a continuing relationship. Bum around the Realms, visit the various lands. Smoke some of the 'special' pipeweed with El. :p Try and convince him, Blackstaff, or one of the Chosen to Planeshift the Earth and hand Ed some cash to keep a controlling stake in the FR. Find out of that scribbled note near a gate 'For a good time, call a cleric of Sharess' has a truth to it. :rimshot: And maybe see if I can find a way to be able to plane shift between here and the Realms, maybe bring someone with me. :) |
| MarkusTay6311-04-07, 12:04 AM | -I never got all the Chuck Norris jokes...You really need to play MORPGs to understand it. "Chuck Norris" literally becomes the answer to EVERY question, and it becomes particularly frustrating to newbs looking for straight answers. :D AFAIK, he is the only character more popular then Drizzt and Leroy Jenkins. ;) |
| Dark Wizard11-04-07, 01:08 AM | In a purely meta-game maneuver I would jump in before TSR decided to load up the periphery regions of Faerun and the other continents of Toril with what were essentially core products and settings. As much as they brought a comic book/pulp-like helter-skelter, seemingly wider-deeper feel to the Realms, I think they're more trouble than they're worth for all settings involved and for all fans whether we like, dislike, or don't care about them. And before people accuse me of being Euro-centric, I just think each setting could have originally stood on their own just fine, each probably could have developed into a more distinct setting independently especially if they were the main focus of their respective setting lines. |
| Mr_Miscellany11-04-07, 01:20 AM | I would enter the setting as one of my favorite 1E characters of old: Cutter the Half-Elven, Blade of Mielikki. No stat changes needed. I would take up residence in my abode between the Hullack Forest and the Thunder Peaks a few years before the events of the War in Cormyr. From there I’d launch a one PC assault on the Cormaeril family, slowly destroying it from the inside out and exposing its treachery and plans to the War Wizards and Harpers. Then I’d take it upon himself to find Nalavara while she was still trapped between the demiplanes of Grodd and Hoard, and put my +5 Bastard Sword right through her eye. Should any Ghazneths emerge, I’d slay them too. I like this thread. |
| msatran11-04-07, 04:54 AM | Actually, I think if I had the power to do anything, I would enter the Realms at the point that the Elves cast the Sundering, travelling back in time. Then, I would mystically tamper with the spell to do the following things: 1) When the City of Shade appeared, all of the inhabitants were feebleminded vegetables. 2) When Shadow Weave Magic was Created, Shar DIED to power it. Now you have shadow weave magic, but Shar, AKA the Emo god, no longer exists. I have no idea how you can even HAVE religious ceremonies for this deity. It's positively comical to imagine. 3) Malar is mightier, there are savage beasts everywhere. 4) Upon the completion of my tampering, the latent energy that was left aside would travel through Elminster's tower and into our world, killing Ayn Rand so that the Watercourse Trilogy would be written as a tribute to someone competent, perhaps Zora Neale Hurston or F. Scott Fitzgerald. 5) The Kraken Society actually becomes feared instead of the "Who the heck are these people?" attitude that most people have. 6) Zhentish society doesn't wage needless two front wars. 7) The Red Knight becomes a greater deity, because wouldn't it be nice to have someone INTELLIGENT as a deity for a change. Right now, she's one of the few non-morons. 8) Cyric is transformed into a piece of catoblepas milk cheese, and eaten by angry halflings. 9) Murdane, the dead goddess of Logic, is returned to life and sent through the gate to our world, to personally oversee SANITY on the part of the Wizards of the Coast game designers. 10) Myth Drannor is once again an adventure setting to be reclaimed by YOUR PCS |
| MarkusTay6311-04-07, 09:40 AM | You have the power to enter the Realms at any one point and change any one thing. What does the Sundering have to do with ANY of that?! And if I had the power to change any one thing, it would be Elminster's underwear. ;) |
| Chahir11-04-07, 09:47 AM | 'Who or what is the Kraken Society? ' IIRC, they're a bunch of bipedal octopids with psionics and delusions of grandeur. Bring it on I say. Me and my party of Kozakuran bushi and Shou expats will take them down in the mother of all all you can eat raw seafood frenzies. An event that will later come to be known as the night of broken chopsticks among discerning folks far and wide. Now thats what I call good tako. |
| Stigger11-04-07, 10:26 AM | Glad I wasn't drinking coffee when I read that Chahir... |
| msatran11-04-07, 12:52 PM | Markus, once you have time travel, you can use any mystic energies you want to affect time itself. That's what the elves did, so that's what I'm going to do. |
| RedGlacier11-06-07, 10:07 AM | Neuter Elminster. :D Just for the heck of it. (Always wondered how he'd turn out without li'l Elminster at the helm.) |
| MarkusTay6311-06-07, 11:39 AM | Neuter Elminster. :D You do realize that at this point in time, Elminster is responsible for 90% of the world's human population? The North would have become and Orcish Homeland a thousand years too early. ;) The really gross part is that even he is unaware of ALL of his decendents, so he probbaly has slept with his 'great-grandkids' on numerous occasions. :yuck: I'd hate to be a Barrister in a fantasy world - can you imagine the confusion when writing laws regarding such things, along with everything else related? Would make for a VERY interesting read, though.... |
| Lord Karsus11-06-07, 04:10 PM | Neuter Elminster. :D Just for the heck of it. (Always wondered how he'd turn out without li'l Elminster at the helm.) -It was stated in Elminster's Daughter that Elminster can only impregnate women when Mystra allows it. Otherwise, he can't. |
| Stigger11-06-07, 05:18 PM | Yes, indeed true LK... one wonder what this whole Spellplague things portends for this though. Perhaps with Mystra's destruction it's Elminster who comes to the rescue, to singlehandedly repopulate the world's mages... :D |
| MarkusTay6311-06-07, 06:51 PM | -It was stated in Elminster's Daughter that Elminster can only impregnate women when Mystra allows it. Otherwise, he can't.Yes.... and she has done so, in at least one case we are aware of, WITHOUT his knowledge. She is the Lady of Mysteries and all that, ya' know. ;) |
| Lord Karsus11-06-07, 07:52 PM | Yes, indeed true LK... one wonder what this whole Spellplague things portends for this though. Perhaps with Mystra's destruction it's Elminster who comes to the rescue, to singlehandedly repopulate the world's mages... :D -The only proper response would be one that Dan uses every so often. I hate to steal his thunder, but, again, this is the only proper response: Bow, bow, chica, bow... Yes.... and she has done so, in at least one case we are aware of, WITHOUT his knowledge. She is the Lady of Mysteries and all that, ya' know. ;) -Well, that still don't change the fact that she's the one banishing all of ol' Elminster's sperm. One wonders where it all goes when she "teleports" it away...:detect: |
| MarkusTay6311-06-07, 10:10 PM | They're dumped into the new 'Astral Sea', where they mature and eventually, through a twist of time and space, wind up in the early Realms as Phaerimm. :P |
| RedGlacier11-07-07, 09:02 AM | -It was stated in Elminster's Daughter that Elminster can only impregnate women when Mystra allows it. Otherwise, he can't. I know. I just want to give all those cheated-on husbands of the Realms some justice.;) Cormyrean Farmers With Pitchforks have feelings too, you know.:weep: |
| Lord Karsus11-07-07, 10:54 AM | Cormyrean Farmers With Pitchforks have feelings too, you know.:weep: -Indeed, I know that better than most... |
| msatran11-11-07, 04:39 AM | Sniff...my Shadow Weave 'Maters....Sob... |
| AskaniPsion11-11-07, 10:38 AM | Killing Cyric before the Time of Troubles seems a good idea... ignoring that whole fated destiny outcome possibility... I agree...never liked Cyric and I really disliked that Mystra was able to be killed so easy in her OWN realm. |
| msatran11-11-07, 10:50 AM | Yeah. Mystra should be able to change her truename at will in 24 hours, just like any other wizard with the ritual and the resources. |
| AskaniPsion11-11-07, 11:43 AM | I would rather see Mystra reduced in power or the Weave torn from her but NOT destroyed. She would have so many magical defenses and allies protecting her. |
| msatran11-11-07, 11:48 AM | Yeah, but they just game mechaniced it. That's what they did. They took the 3e statblocks and said "With Shar's Aid, Mystra and her followers can't make the spot checks" and that was it. |
| Urlithani11-11-07, 03:23 PM | I would kill Midnight. That way all the disappointment of 4E would have been long forgotten since so many people that loved her could not be disappointed now. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, so I figure I'll just go with bad intentions! :) |
| Rinonalyrna Fathomlin11-11-07, 06:31 PM | Yeah, but they just game mechaniced it. That's what they did. They took the 3e statblocks and said "With Shar's Aid, Mystra and her followers can't make the spot checks" and that was it. Remember that Shar is the Chosen of Wizards of the Coast. |
| Lord Karsus11-11-07, 06:35 PM | Remember that Shar is the Chosen of Wizards of the Coast. -Isn't that Cyric? Or Mystra? It changes, depending on who you ask. |
| Stigger11-11-07, 06:39 PM | Nah, Cyric is just the errand boy with delusions of Grandeur, and Mystra is Ed's GDPC, while Shar is the current Fave Femme of Ebil. |
| Rinonalyrna Fathomlin11-11-07, 07:08 PM | -Isn't that Cyric? Or Mystra? It changes, depending on who you ask. I'm pretty sure Shar is WotC's favorite deity. |
| AskaniPsion11-11-07, 07:46 PM | I'm pretty sure Shar is WotC's favorite deity. Yeah I have to agree with you. Shar does get ALOT of exposure. It seems like most main plot linelines in Faerun also have Shar's hand in it. You never even really heard of Shar until WOTC got control. I think they were watching too much "Xena:Warrior Princess" when they decided to give Shar a chakram as her favored weapon. I am betting she will take Mask's portfolio too. |
| Zsych11-11-07, 08:17 PM | I'll go back in time as a Netherese wizard, and explain all the problems with Karsus Avatar to Karsus, so he can avoid them and I don't have to deal with his broken soul spawning Lord Karsus to defend Evermeet from my wrath!!! |
| Lord Karsus11-11-07, 08:27 PM | I'll go back in time as a Netherese wizard, and explain all the problems with Karsus Avatar to Karsus, so he can avoid them and I don't have to deal with his broken soul spawning Lord Karsus to defend Evermeet from my wrath!!! -Then Dan will take my place. Evermeet will always have her defenders. Vive le'Elves! |
| Stigger11-12-07, 01:01 AM | Defenders can be distracted... or bribed. Fear not Zsych... if Shar and her errand boy can gank Mystra, I'm sure it won't be that difficult to sink Evermeet... |
| Fingoldfin11-12-07, 11:39 AM | Yeah I have to agree with you. Shar does get ALOT of exposure. It seems like most main plot linelines in Faerun also have Shar's hand in it. I am betting she will take Mask's portfolio too. Hey, I liked Xena. I was in high school at the time so I liked anything in a short skirt. Edit: I just pictured Ed Greenwood in a short skirt. Not Good at All!  :weep: |
| msatran11-12-07, 01:49 PM | How could you do that to the rest of us? That image will be with me for years! I'll never be able to eat difficult foods again. I'll be thinking about Ed Greenwood in a short skirt. I'll never be able to take Elminster seriously again. I know what that twinkle in his eye is. It's not a twinkle! It's a TWITCH. He saw Ed Greenwood in a short skirt. That horrid sound you hear of wailing in the distance, and cannibals coming to eat your town? They saw Ed Greenwood in a short skirt. |
| Lord Karsus11-12-07, 03:04 PM | 'Tran, you should make that into a song. |
| Stigger11-12-07, 03:36 PM | We could get him a belt of gender bending if it makes you lot feel less weirded out... sorry, the imaga just can't do it to me, I've been to far too many gay pride parades and seen far, far, far worse than something like Ed in a short skirt. |
| Lord_Madrigan11-12-07, 03:38 PM | Knock off Cyric, take Godsbane and Return the Tablets of fate to Ao. If he should offer Godhood I ask for Mystras old job instead of replacing the Dead three. If Ao goes along with the Plan it's time for some changes. Each school of Magic Gets it's own God. :D The Gods of Magic Me: Magic, spells, the weave Azuth: spell casters Savras god of Divination Leira goddess of Illusion Szass Tam god of necromancy. [TBA] of Evocation, Enchantment, Abjuration, Conjuration, Transmutation.[accepting Suggestions] If Ao say no and give me the Job held by the Dead three. Again I Split the Power [after I use Godsbane to Off Xvim] I shall Take Death and the Dead Artemis Entreri becomes the New lord of Murder [assuming He'll take the Job.] Tyrany to Fzoul and Strife to Manshoon :D |
| Fingoldfin11-12-07, 03:57 PM | Lets see... If I could enter the Realms at any one point in time it would be during the Sundering. If I could change only one thing it would be my underwear, because I'm pretty sure that witnessing the Sundering would make me crap my pants.:D |
| Zsych11-13-07, 02:51 AM | ... or manifest as Cyric and hand the tablets to Ao, then do whatever I want for a year as a god(hopefully), his portfolios should be fun... and then close to the end of the year, if it looks like I can be de-diefied with Cyric returned... find something to contain my godhood and set in motion events that will bring my earthly self back to Toril so I can be a god again... and have a chance to make my new pawn(Cyric) suffer. |
| nightside_samurai11-13-07, 04:27 AM | Well I would come back as a simple Kobold. Immediately upon arriving I would find the nearest nest of my kind and head straight for the temple to Kurtalmak and begin a week long prayer vigil / flaggelation / fasting / ritual and would emerge with the title of Divine Minion. I would then find a simple Wizard who will offer me training in exchange for the favor of my god. Once I learned first level magic and attract a familiar (maybe a little viper), I go in search of a Sarrukh... :D |

| nightside_samurai11-13-07, 06:39 PM | I thought that someone else would have mentioned that one already :) |
| Lord Karsus11-13-07, 06:40 PM | I thought that someone else would have mentioned that one already :) -Not too many of the FR people here venture into the D&D general threads- though, the story of Pun-Pun is somewhat universal. |
| nightside_samurai11-13-07, 06:45 PM | -Not too many of the FR people here venture into the D&D general threads- though, the story of Pun-Pun is somewhat universal. I always thought Pun Pun would fit in well with the Realms. He'd just need a mane of silver hair and plot armor  |
| soulnova11-14-07, 03:33 AM | I would be a Human Female Fighter11/Rogue10 with 30 in every stat... no need for more. I would be in Calimport when Artemis Entreri was 8 years old (just before everything went wrong), bought him from his mother with half the gold I have and with the other half go to Silverymoon to raise him for a year. In the process, I would reclaim Mithral Hall on my OWN and destroy the orc hordes gaining the favor of Alustriel. If Bruenor Battlehammer comes to my door to reclaim the Halls I would leave peacefully but I would take with me some great chunks of Mithrill (and Taurmail...TAKE THAT CATTI!). I would leave the young Artemis Entreri under the care of a)Alustriel, b) True Selune FEMALE priestess. The last hour of my stay and with the rest of the loot from Mithrall Hall I would ask a great mage to scry Menzoberranza and Teleport me there with Greater Invisibility, a wand of Fireball, Daylight, and loads of alchemicall fire. Bring it ON!! |
| Lord Karsus11-14-07, 11:46 AM | The last hour of my stay and with the rest of the loot from Mithrall Hall I would ask a great mage to scry Menzoberranza and Teleport me there with Greater Invisibility, a wand of Fireball, Daylight, and loads of alchemicall fire. -Teleportation doesn't work in the Underdark, in most cases. Since Menzoberranzan is so close to a Faerzress, it definitley wouldn't work. |
| soulnova11-14-07, 03:00 PM | I didnt say it would work, only that I would really try. XD Can you blame me? |
| Rinonalyrna Fathomlin11-14-07, 03:42 PM | I didnt say it would work, only that I would really try. XD Can you blame me? Is it worth trying, though, if it could result in serious harm or death? At least, those are some possible outcomes of trying to teleport in or out of the Underdark that I can recall. |
| Lord Karsus11-14-07, 11:31 PM | Is it worth trying, though, if it could result in serious harm or death? -I know I wouldn't want to teleport into a rock. |
| Craig C.11-15-07, 01:16 AM | I always thought Pun Pun would fit in well with the Realms. He'd just need a mane of silver hair and plot armor :rofl:Pun Pun needs the FR's 'Serpent Kingdoms' sourcebook to even exist at all. Otherwise, no Pun Pun. I'm really shocked that the Sarrukh's base foundation ability to trigger Pun Pun evolution has never been erratta'ed. A few minor editing tweaks and it could be fixed in a heartbeat. |
| Stigger11-15-07, 02:48 AM | Last I looked, teleporting into the Underdark only required a Knowledge(Arcana) or Spellcraft check of a fairly easy DC for a wizard who could cast Greater Teleport... doesn't seem that difficult if that particular rule still holds true. Not sure though, none of my players like the Underdark, so I hardly ever have to look at the rules for it. |
| nightside_samurai11-15-07, 01:58 PM | Pun Pun needs the FR's 'Serpent Kingdoms' sourcebook to even exist at all. Otherwise, no Pun Pun. I'm really shocked that the Sarrukh's base foundation ability to trigger Pun Pun evolution has never been erratta'ed. A few minor editing tweaks and it could be fixed in a heartbeat. Well he can definitely exist in Eberron because "Everything has a place in Eberron!" :P |
| Sullivan11-16-07, 09:45 PM | I would keep Princess Whatzerface of Myth Drannor from being assassinated by the Starym. |
| Lord Karsus11-17-07, 12:15 AM | I would keep Princess Whatzerface of Myth Drannor from being assassinated by the Starym. -Aravae |
| MarkusTay6311-17-07, 01:14 AM | The problem is that in 4e they would have to nerf Pun Pun because they are getting rid of all the high-level types. Of course, if he were evil, then they would probably make him god-emperor of the world. Pun Pun needs the FR's 'Serpent Kingdoms' sourcebook to even exist at all. Otherwise, no Pun Pun. I'm really shocked that the Sarrukh's base foundation ability to trigger Pun Pun evolution has never been erratta'ed. A few minor editing tweaks and it could be fixed in a heartbeat.Exactly - Pun Pun could exist in Eberron, but he would be hard-pressed to find a Sarruhk whose abilities he could steal. Eberron's Pun Pun would just die an old and lonely pitiable little insignificant creature... much like it's players. :P On Topic: You know, going back and warning the Lord Artificer that the Pharonic Pantheon was on it's way might be fun. |
