A few suggestions:

Hi everyone, I have a few suggestions which I would like to pose to the LFG camp, (some of these are concepts we have been using in Living Arcanis for quite some time… )

1) Give GMs something for eating adventures; in LA a GM who eats a mod (runs the adventure before playing it) gets an amount of experience and gold. In my area is increased the GM pool by 50%, people fighting over “who eats the next mod” became a thing of the past. Its quiet easy to track (have all the players at the table sign a AR/Log Sheet Entry) This also increased the player pool, as GMs now had characters to play with the players (at a convention you can have a GM fall 2 levels or more behind his friends)

2) If Cohorts are part of 4e (we don’t even know if leadership made it into the final draft) it would be nice if we could play our Cohort in the case of permeate character death. It’s a very cool Role-playing hook to play the once squire of a falling knight trying to avenge his masters death. In LA we just started letting players play there cohorts instead of their main character in adventures, I don’t know how well its working out, but so far players seem to like it. (I know that one player in Miami is very happy, he is playing with a ton of mid level players now even though his main character is Alost at the level cap)

3) Tradable certs, I know it’s a pipe dream… but I like them, they are fun, players like them.

4) Level cap vs. retirement – You have no idea how mad some players are in LG with their main characters becoming retired in there region’s greatest time(s) of need. The entire “your character is no longer interested in the petty confects of your home region” is bull. We created characters to fit in the regional story, to be part of it, not to walk away as soon as things get good. (in my region for example, the events would most assuredly call my character back into action… instead he is forever sitting in a log cabin smoking a pipe as the greatest battle in my region’s history looms over the horizon) Go with a level cap… let players keep playing and being part of the story… even if you need to cap GP gained.

5) For old times’ sake; Bring us back to ravens bluff... even if it’s all in ruins, just for one storyline.

6) Player controlled meta-originations’ (ala the knight orders and Harpers of LC) it made the orders special. Not just a stat or a favor you picked up along the way. For those who are scared of this, don’t be; it was easy to get into the knighthoods, but you had to gave a player sponsor you, it encouraged role playing, especially at interactives. The Harpers where not so easy to get into, no one knew who was a Harper and who wasn’t, you had to prove yourself at a table by being a hero and going above and beyond. I can’t tell you how exciting it was for my character to be invited into the Harpers, one of the best role playing experiences of my life.

well thats my two silver
