- When are the Living Forgotten Realms Campaign Standards (LFRCS) going to be published?

- Would the campaign administrators be willing to have a public review period before the LFRCS goes live? There is nothing quite like another hundred pairs of eyes to find all of the kinks, inconsistencies and points of contention.

- How frequently does the campaign administration plan to update the LFRCS?

Thoughts?

1. There is no definite publication date that I am aware of. I am brave enough to say that it will be after DDXP and before GenCon Indy. :D

2. I would welcome a public review period.

3. That has not yet been discussed.

That seems optimistic. If I were to take my best guess based on past history and the fact that the 4e books won't be released until June, I'd say somewhere between Origins and Gen Con.

Tthat makes sense to me - until the books are released, isn't about half the Campaign Standard going to be NDA? Not to mention, most people won't be exactly certain what it the Campaign Standards are talking about in certain areas.

As Shawn said, there is no definite publication date as yet for the Campaign Standards. However, if they contain any specific 4E material, particularly if not yet released to the public, I doubt they would be released before June 6. Hopefully soon after that though.

Without the 4E PHB to tell you how to make a PC, the standards would not do a gamer much good. If the standards said, "Use method 13 per PHB to derive your ability scores," you would really need the PHB. :-(

You may see Writers' Guidelines before the campaign standards.

Beyond the open and close lists (which should be pretty short on the closed side) I would think that alot of the LFRCS wouldn't be too dependent on them having the books available. Assuming they have an open line to devs (or some devs amongst the group), most of the questions should be easily answered.

The online portion of the game should include rules revisions as necessary so, how many things will actually be broken for LFR but not the game as a whole.

I am hoping that they'll be keeping most of the format from LG and much of the LGCS has to do with things outside the game as published like certs, TUs and table composition. Probably the best way would be to review what they like or don't about in LG and then go from there.

Based on how Xendrick expeditions started I would guess that the campaign standards for LFR will be out a few days after Gencon. The tracking forms...ARs... whatever they will be called should come along a few months after that.

Chris Tulach stated at the LFR meeting at DDXP that the LFR Campaign Standards would be out in July. His goal is 4 weeks before the start of Gencon. He hopes the gamers will first buy the 4E books in June, and then read them, so that when the gamers see the campaign standards, they will be able to understand and apply what the standards say to make LFR PCs.
