| Puggle Halfwine03-02-08, 04:23 AM | I noticed there was no kobold creation card in the "LFR Creation Cards preview". This makes me sad. May I propose the following: The Living Greyhawk kobold card functions in Living Forgotten Realms. However, it's text reads: "We kobolds are very community minded. Can I help you?" - Ixen Vorel, Kobold Sorcerer. Many tribes of kobolds live in the Dragon Coast hinterlands. They often trade with their neighbours, join local mercenary companies and have a friendly, easy relationship with all other races (aside from Gnomes, who are distrusted but tolerated). Benefit: This card unlocks the kobold race from the Monster Manual. This card unlocks no other rules. |
| Koushiro03-03-08, 04:51 AM | Well finally getting to use my kobold card for LG that I had to get on my own, I'm having a complete blast with it. Disguises, not caring if random people see me as a kobold, being a bard/dragon blooded sorcerer! It's sheer awesomeness! Look out Greyhawk Ruins! |
| Puggle Halfwine03-03-08, 08:53 AM | Hell yes! |
| gomeztoo03-03-08, 09:08 AM | I think in order to establish kobold successfully as a PC race, they would need to be a bit more 'established' as a Realms 'main' race - specifically politically, than they are in 3rd ed Realms (iirc people never mention kobolds as 'players' in the Realms. They DO mention orcs...). If they would be a force to be reckoned with on a big enough scale, they would be less of an oddity to add (similarly goblins, gnolls, etc). But you never know. I think though that with 3 extra races - assuming these will actually make it in the campaign - you would have quite enough for the first year. |
| Puggle Halfwine03-03-08, 06:46 PM | True, they do tend to live underground. ;) Then again there is a rumour about drow... and I know which one I'd rather have! ;) |
| cetiken03-06-08, 09:06 PM | Actually I think being a kobald would be lots of fun. In the preview mods kobalds had a cool power to make a 1 square shift (five foot steap) as a minor (swift) action while the rest of us have to spend a move action to shift. This for the curious lets them move then shift to the flank. Fun times. I'm just sad that the warlock in my group didn't die when he ran into the room of kobolds like the tool he was. The bulder made a good shot at it though. |
| Wavester03-06-08, 10:09 PM | Two problems with that 1 - we don't even know if Kobold is a playable race in the 4th edition MM 2 - RPGA HQ (Chris) already said that no previous sets would be usuable in LFR or future 4th edition games. So right now there are only 3 useable 4th edition cards (Orc, Gnome, and Shadar-Kai) |
| waytoomuchcoffee03-07-08, 10:36 PM | 1 - we don't even know if Kobold is a playable race in the 4th edition MM Enworld is reporting it will be http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=220343 |
| Mithreinmaethor03-08-08, 03:08 PM | Let us pray to the gods that it is not allowed in LFR |
| WolfStar7603-10-08, 07:05 AM | So far the MM races *appear* to be locked to creation cards (citing the DDXP promo cards of Gnome, Shadar-Kai, and Orc as examples). So, for now I'd assume "no, not unless we make a creation card" |
