| KarmaInferno08-22-07, 06:00 PM | I ask the opposite. Why NOT? What will it hurt? At least it gets the folks who want to talk about the Living Realms out of the Living Greyhawk areas. -karma |
| control freak08-22-07, 08:16 PM | I ask the opposite. Why NOT? What will it hurt? it might annoy them, or cause them to sneeze, therefore no such thing will ever occure:rolleyes: LG ending had kinda made me mad at Wizos, see my new sig (comming soon) |

The reason is probably because they feel their is nothing to discuss. (Before you flame me, I did say 'probably'). I think a forum would be great at this point just to bring player input from the almost-but-not-quite start. Even if they totally ignored it, it would make people feel involved and that is a good thing (hint hint). Craig Hier Just some dude. |
| WotC_Tulach08-23-07, 02:48 AM | A forum is on its way soon for Living Forgotten Realms. How soon, I don't know yet, but as soon as I can have it set up, it'll be there. |

I don't see any special treatment, I see a company that has learned from its past mistakes. They listened to the community and decided to put up the forum for LFR sooner than later. |

| Eric Anondson08-24-07, 01:11 AM | Why give Living Forgotten Realms special treatment. Eberron did not have its on forum until the setting book was published. There are good reasons to get LFR forums up and going. But isn't the fact that Eberron didn't have a book out while there is a ton of FR material out now a good enough reason? Also, we know there will be a RPGA run Living campaigin in FR. When Eberron won the setting competition there was no clue as to what the RPGA would do to participate with that setting, or even if. The RPGA guys are reading the forums and getting ideas. See Tulach's post about calling an "emergency meeting" after having read someone's post about an idea for LG TU costs. Getting a destination for LFR means there is an active area for folks with concerns and ideas that the RPGA guys will be reading through and paying attention to while they are still framing the scope of the next Living campaign. |

I agree that forums can enact change. As a former Circle member I can attest to that fact from first hand knowledge. But the kicker is you have to keep the signal to noise ratio low enough that those in charge can see the good stuff. The posts about "dibs on <insert random nation here>" are not helpful in the least. Post about things that sux are not helpful (unless you propose a new, non-suxy way to do it). I realize that people want to speak their mind and that is great. Just be sure to address the issue in a constructive and informative. We have a lot of great ideas floating around and I think bringing them to the attention of Chris and crew will help everybody in the end. Hmmm. I just realized this post is mostly noise. Breaking my own guidelines from the start!! :) Quick, somebody post something thought provoking. |
| Takei08-24-07, 01:58 AM | One thing I'me VERY interested in finding out; is LFR going to be administered through DnDInsider? In other words are you going to have to be a subscriber in order to order mods? |
| KoboldChieftain08-24-07, 02:10 AM | One thing I'me VERY interested in finding out; is LFR going to be administered through DnDInsider? In other words are you going to have to be a subscriber in order to order mods? Although I have no insider (pun mildly intended) knowledge of how this is all going to work, I would say that the DnDInsider and LFR are going to be very seperate. The Insider is for the publishing side of the house. The LFR is in the RPGA side. Historically the two have not mingled. That being said, the fact that one of the key pillars of 4e is "Organized Play" might indicate a change in thinking. At first blush I would tend to doubt it but I have been surprised at WotC moves before (as have we all I'm sure) |
| MasterDM108-24-07, 04:37 AM | as an RPGA Game Judge I am curious about something I read that there may be opportunities for playtesters. If so, I would definitely be interested and have a campaign group of playtesters ready to rock and roll. I have been playing this game since 1979 and an RPGA Game Judge for 2 years, Master level. If anyone at Wizards has any info let me know. |

But the kicker is you have to keep the signal to noise ratio low enough that those in charge can see the good stuff. I cannot emphasize this enough, as the director of a different campaign. We listen to player feedback and enact changes constantly. The only barrier to that is the sheer weight of the correspondences that are of no practical use whatsoever. This does not mean players should not have the opportunity to express themselves. But reading literally thousands of posts and emails over the course of a week makes finding that one good suggestion much more difficult. Shawn Crimson Codex Guy |

In other words are you going to have to be a subscriber in order to order mods? They made it clear at the meeting, and I've seen a few posts from Chris since then re-iterating that no, you absolutely will not have to be a DnD Insider to order RPGA modules. In fact, you won't even need to be an Insider to play online - assuming you have your own 3rd party virtual tabletop system you like (or are happy running over IRC, whatever works for you). If I find one of the posting I'll quote and link it. :) |
| drufause08-28-07, 11:19 AM | shameless bump for an update. |

| WizO_Autumn09-04-07, 07:06 PM | Moved to the forum mentioned above! |
