a little question about planar travel [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-12-07, 12:28 PM OK, here's a hypothetical situation...:

A party of evil Drow characters has a goal, but to achieve it they need to travel to Dweomerheart.

They would be about level 17 with access to Gate. But barring that option, (just in case it is unavailable or doesn't work) what other ways can they use to get there?

One other way i already could think of is for them to somehow convince a good character capable of planar travel that they need to get there and have all good intentions, all they have to do is Gate the characters in when they get there.

And by convince, i mean persuade, threaten, befriend, Gaes/quest, etc..

Now i know no other plane has portals directly to Dweomerheart, at least off the top of my head. And planes that do or link to planes adjacent to it, are only accessible from other planes where these characters could never venture, Arvandor for example.

so yes, if you guys could help me figure this out, it'd be greatly appreciated.

1) Go to Sigil
2) Go to Dweomerheart

If you use the Great Wheel Cosmology:

1) Go to Sigil
2) Go to Dweomerheart

or

1) Find a natural portal to Elysium
2) Physically travel to Mystra's domain, though Elysium's nature will prevent you from getting anywhere if you have openly evil intentions

or

1) Fine a natural portal to the Outlands
2) Use the gatetown of Ecstasy's portal to Elysium
3) Physically travel to Mystra's domain as above

08-13-07, 07:24 PM There are no special restrictions on travel to Dweomerheart. The entry for Dweomerheart in the PGTF says only that there are no known portals to the plane--but that doesn't preclude travel there by spell. It also does not preclude unknown portals.

Planeshift should work. So should gate. Astral travel should work fine also. You can also get there from the Celestial Tree. The infinite staircase is connected to Dweomerheart. Sigil is connected as well, but the portal is probably not known (at least not by many).

A chaos ship could probably do it, though I would not lay good odds on it surviving for long after its journey.

08-14-07, 12:17 AM well thanks, guys. I know pretty much all i need to right now. I just wasn't sure if there was anything blocking characters with obviously evil intent from entering magically or not. Just the whole fact that if Mystra knew what was going to happen, she wouldn't allow it i assume.

08-14-07, 04:42 AM Well if they tap into the Weave to use their magic to transport there. She might at least know they are there..if not more.
