| Todesherr01-30-08, 11:11 PM | god... I think the time for something like that is long overdue. Most of us love Bane; he is a great villain and in an overt manner the most dangerous and organised evil deity in the realms, so it would be very fitting to tell his history, from the beginnings to his ascension. I think it would be a good idea. Most of us love Torm; he is the ultimate righteous god (and with him becoming the preeminent LG power in the realms), it would be a great idea. Give him a three part series as well. Three part biographies for our favourite gods and likely the most major players in the deific scene in the years to come. All those in support give it a thumbs up! :pint: |
| Lord Karsus01-31-08, 12:39 AM | -I'd be nice. It's a longshot, but it'd be nice... |
| Kenzuki01-31-08, 07:23 AM | Bhaal and Myrkul would have to be in there too since they were his buddies or something. |
| MarkusTay6301-31-08, 10:20 AM | Since all of the past is now being thrown out the window by those in charge, there's more of a chance of seeing Bin Laden convert to Judaism. |
| GreenKnight01-31-08, 10:52 AM | Anyone have any idea when Bane became a god, anyway? The other day when I was talking about how long Torm had been a god, it led me to wonder how long Bane's been a god. Torm, for instance, became a god not long after the fall of Netheril, as he was mortal in the days following its fall. So how about Bane? Jergal was worshipped in Netheril at one point, but did Bane/Bhaal/Myrkul challenge him before or after the fall of Netheril? And if so, when? That's what I want to know. |
| Lord Karsus01-31-08, 12:48 PM | Anyone have any idea when Bane became a god, anyway? -The Year of Boiling Moats, which was sometime between -394 DR and -339 DR, due to where the essay 'The Battle of Boiling Moats' is placed in AGHotR. |
| Todesherr02-02-08, 10:04 AM | Since all of the past is now being thrown out the window by those in charge, there's more of a chance of seeing Bin Laden convert to Judaism. Bin Laden is dead. |
| Lord Karsus02-02-08, 10:22 AM | -News to me. |
| Kenzuki02-02-08, 06:54 PM | Bin Laden is dead. Lies! He's in Crawford Texes in a basement on a ranch...... |
| GreenKnight02-02-08, 09:59 PM | -The Year of Boiling Moats, which was sometime between -394 DR and -339 DR, due to where the essay 'The Battle of Boiling Moats' is placed in AGHotR. Ah, thanks. So the ascension of Bane/Myrkul/Bhaal and Torm is separated by about 50 years or less. Cool. |
| MarkusTay6302-02-08, 11:30 PM | Maybe they ascended at the same time as Torm. Every time a mortal ascends, Ao throws a party, so he has learned over the years to try and get a few to ascend together, so he can save on the catering. ;) |
| Lord Karsus02-03-08, 01:40 AM | Ah, thanks. So the ascension of Bane/Myrkul/Bhaal and Torm is separated by about 50 years or less. Cool. -Very fitting. I wonder if they knew each other in life...? |
| Kenzuki02-03-08, 07:09 AM | I wonder how Bane, Bhaal and Myrkul met? |
| Todesherr02-03-08, 07:30 AM | I wonder how Bane, Bhaal and Myrkul met? They met during the search for Al Quaeda and Bin Laden.;) |
| Jiggawha02-03-08, 07:55 AM | Boiling Moats -359 DR, does that essay confirm that they've become gods? don't remember anything like that, maybe they still had doal with the six lost gods 63 DR the Year of the Winsome trio - tought that was a good possibility before AGHotR |
| Lord Karsus02-03-08, 12:12 PM | Boiling Moats -359 DR, does that essay confirm that they've become gods? don't remember anything like that, maybe they still had doal with the six lost gods -The essay talks about how Bhaal, Bane and Myrkul killed Borem of the Boiling Mud with the Cult of Jathiman (Sp?) Dagger, and how Jergal is just happy he is now rid of the three. They myths say that Jergal gave Bhaal, Bane and Myrkul their divine powers after they killed Borem of the Boiling Mud, because he wanted to not have to be bothered with the trio anymore. So... |
| Kenzuki02-03-08, 01:54 PM | Champions of Ruin hints that the reason he did this was because he created Kezouf the Chaos Hound in a fit of madness in centuries past. He did it in a fit of rage when he discovered that despite being the God of the Dead the souls of the dead went to be with their gods and not him. So he created Kezouf and now is doing penence for it by serving the current god of Death. So it says anyway. Jergal rocks period. |
| Cmarco02-03-08, 03:15 PM | That would be cool. I love Torm, Bane, Bhaal, and Myrkul. They're all awesome characters within the history of the Realms, and I think it would be awesome to see their stories in print. |
