| Izarus03-27-07, 10:47 AM | My english is not very well but am a big fan of RO and i have somting to ask about Hoar , can a paladin be a Hoar fallower ? |
| Khaelieth03-27-07, 12:59 PM | Certainly. |
| customdrapery03-27-07, 01:52 PM | Hurm...Paladins of Revenge...or would that be Paladins of Poetic Justice. Either way, kind of interesting, eye for an eye and all that. Allowed by the rules, I guess. |
| Old Sage03-27-07, 09:05 PM | The Fellowship of Poetic Justice is an order comprised mostly of bards and crusaders. And they are dedicated to both Hoar AND Tyr. See Hoar's entry in Powers & Pantheons. |

| Another Gnome03-28-07, 06:05 PM | FR paladins are still subject to being lawful good and avoiding straight up evil deeds, but other than that their code of conduct is defined by the dogma of their deity. As such, a paladin of Hoar might easily get away with actions a more kindly inclined patron deity would abhor. Sure, our goody-two-shoes couldn't just go and push a wrong-doer off the roof, but let's say someone just happens to have knocked a few roof tiles loose the night before our paladin chases said wrong-doer on said roof, with a perfectly innocent combination of Bluff and Intimidation checkes threatening to bring justice upon him one way or another, and the wrong-doer just so happens to step on those loose tiles after a little totally coincidential maneuvering to get him closer to the edge, and our paladin just so happens to look the other way when the guy takes a plunge. Into that stack of spears someone accidentally forgot there right underneath those unfortunately loose tiles. A terrible tragedy, but hey, freak accidents happen. No, I'm not really suggesting a paladin would do something like that -- and the defense would remind the members of the jury that there's only circumstantial evidence of my client having had any prior knowledge of the transpired events to begin with -- but the point is that Hoar wouldn't give a damn if the claimed conspiracy had in fact taken place with one of his paladins present on the scene. |
| Tyrant of the Moonsea03-28-07, 08:00 PM | I'd think Gray Guards from Complete Scoundrel would be perfect as paladins of Hoar.... |
| Burningspear04-01-07, 08:13 PM | A friend of mine actually tried to play a paladin of Hoar in Ravenloft, with his character originating from Fearuhn, It was damn difficult to keep up, specially because the paladin ethos precludes doubtful ideas from being allowed and remaining a "proper" paladin himself, In Ravenloft and at least considering his character, he had better stuck to a cleric fighter, emulating all that is Hoar and a paladin, nut not being stuck in the paladins ethos of conduct. as it barely worked... Hoar is to easy on that respect to what a paladin should be allowed. Edit: But then again, his concept i thought sucked in depth, as he was a "female Fullplate/ Greatsword (Booooooooooooring) wielding palladin", very card booard in my opinion. :plotting: |
| Burningspear04-01-07, 08:35 PM | Just to show my love for Hoar: Dragon 297 has a article with a prestige class: Knight of the chase, The prereq. are not quite Hoar but still in the class itself i get a feeling of Hoar in a sense.. change the prerequisites to something like: Any Lawful, Bab +6, Survival 6, Hide in Shadows 6, Move Silent 6, Add the following skills to in class: Gather Info, Intimidate, Know.Local, Arcana, Sense Motive, Spellcraft.
