| Borris05-19-07, 06:14 AM | Deneir's dogma is more about the gathering and recording of information than the aesthetics of a given text. If your characteris writing a song so that History would not forget his deeds and exploits, then Deneir would make a suitable patron. If you're more tempted to write an epic poem sinply for its artistic value, then Milil or Oghma might be a better choice. Of course, as a fighter/bard, you don't have any divine abilities. You could pray worship Malar and it wouldn't change a thing mechanically. So choose whatever makes for better roleplay. |

| Alac Luin05-27-07, 05:00 PM | Nothing, Bards do it often. From what I gather (and I agree) there can be two ways to go about it. Song for artistic sake- Focus is on the music, words are secondary. Song for story sake- Focus is on the words/story, the music is there to entice the listener to continue listening to the message the bard intended. One can switch between these two, and these two can be blended to various degrees. It can most likely be described by how the bard wishes to describe it. "I wish to write a grand epic song about Deneir." or "I wish to sing the praises of Deneir in song." Very subtle difference, but a difference none the less. |
| Alac Luin05-27-07, 06:20 PM | A little thought here from my side. A few RP considerations. A bard of Deneir would likely desire to "collect" songs/bard tales and write them down into song books. He may have the personal belief that sections of the meta text exist in song, considering some songs as books not yet in written format. |
| LonelywoodSchermont06-14-07, 03:49 AM | Best way to work this out is to look at The Cleric Quintet. Deneir has a true love of songs and poems. Though Faiths and Pantheons never mention Deneir's artistic side, but realize there is a reason as to why Oghma likes him. If you want to write a song about Deneir, RP that your character pulled from many poems/songs about Deneir and then placed them in order. |
| captaincarot06-14-07, 09:52 AM | the chosen of denier actually cast spells by going through the words of a song in their head. so i'd say he's probably a quite partial to a bit of metallica every now and again. deneir that is not cadderley. but i do like the idea of deneir worshinping bards getting things down on paper as well. |
