Hi there,

I read that Mielikki allows "her" druids armor and weapons like that rangers can use without compromising their druid oaths. Is there an elven deity with a similar "war friendly" attitude towards druids? I only have the german FRCS (3E I think), and in this nothing is stated about this possibility.

Someone here that can help me creating an elven druid that can use a sword he has been trained with before he became a druid?

-Here are some Elven deities:

Solonar Thelandira, deity of hunting, archery and outdoor survival.

Rillifane Rallathil, deity of the woodlands, and the harmony between civilization and nature.

Khalreshaar, Mielikki's Seldarine aspect.*

*Being as that this is actually Mielikki, Khalreshaar might be who you are looking for.

About armors, yes, you can use Khalreshaar as an aspect of the deity Mielikki.

And in case of weapons, according to the 3.5 edition of D&d, you may use any weapon you have proficiency in it without breaking the druids oath. The Oath still mantains only in Armors and Shields, not weapons anymore like the 3rd Edition.

You're sure about that? In my german PHB (V3.5) it says "...forbidden armor, weapon or forbidden shield...", which I'm reading as "Every weapon except those named above is forbidden". And on d20SRD.org the topic isn't really clear to me. It lists the allowed weapons, armor and shield categories, but the weapons are not covered in the crucial sentence:

A druid who wears prohibited armor or carries a prohibited shield is unable to cast druid spells or use any of her supernatural or spell-like class abilities while doing so and for 24 hours thereafter

In this I cannot discover that weapons one is proficient in are allowed - although it would make my case much more easy :D

IIRC, the german 3.5 PHB was still published by Amigo, who regularly botched the translations.

Check the SRD: http://www.d20srd.org/srd/classes/druid.htm

As mentioned above, that I did. The SRD does not say that it is forbidden; does this mean it is allowed? As D&D-rule-language is strictly defining nearly anything, saying "as this is, the other isn't" and repeating so much, I'm in doubt about that.

OK, after contemplating on the issue, I think I got it and will quit the rule mechanic question - back to topic.

Khalreshaar sounds just right. Is there any actual info on this deity published?

The only info on Khalreshaar is in Elves of Evermeet, I think. The sourcebook, not the novel.

And yes, you're right. 'Not mentioned' means 'allowed'. ;)

-The most extensive write-up of Khalreshaar would be my article in Elves of Faerūn. Otherwise, she is briefly mentioned in Demihuman Deities and/or Mielikki's entry in Faiths and Avatars.
