| durin121103-16-07, 01:07 PM | Hello, I have been playing clerics a lot lately and I wanted to get Faiths and Pantheons for my own bookshelf. I found out to my dismay that it is currently out of print. Do any of you know if there are plans for Wizards to replace or update with a new version? I don't want to hunt down an the old version if Wizards is going to come out with a new version in a few months. |

I seriously doubt there's a new version coming out anytime in the near future... personally I suspect it was withdrawn so they wouldn't have to keep pushing the disaster that was the deity statting. |
| Lord Karsus03-16-07, 06:02 PM | -I find it pretty crazy that, with all of the importance placed on deities in the Realms, that this book is out-of-print. Too old, I guess... |
| Green Elven Vampire03-16-07, 06:25 PM | Unless you're into human deities, I wouldn't get the book. It explains in detail most human deities, but gives absolutely crap on demi-human deities. If you're a cleric of elves, dwarves, halflings or such then this book will help you very little. |

When used in tandem with Monsterous Mythology, and On Hallowed Ground, you get a mostly complete picture. Note that the latter two are more difficult to obtain, as hard copies and PDFs. |
| Stigger03-16-07, 08:17 PM | Personally I'm more partial to Faiths and Avatars, Powers & Pantheons, and Demihuman Deities... thought they were all a lot more indepth in the fluff, even if the mechanics are outdated nowadays. |

The FRCS has tables with their portfolios, domains, favored weapons, and so on, anyway. |

Those books were far superior to Faiths and Pantheons. I hate the demihuman artwork, very subpar. |

I hate the demihuman artwork, very subpar. -The artwork really is the main thing that Faiths and Pantheons has going for it. That and it collects (though only a small fraction) of three different books, and mushes it all into one book. Had I known about the 2e sources before I began played D&D, I would have forgone F&P for it's 2e predecessors. |
| The Ranger03-17-07, 12:37 AM | It does have mucho prestige classes, which is nice -- some of which are pretty cool. |
| Stigger03-17-07, 01:31 AM | Still wish they had converted all of the specialty priests over to 3.x PrC's though... some really good stuff in there I never remember to go in and dig out for conversion until the game is about to start. |
| Zanan03-17-07, 07:39 AM | The German version of the book has just been published (well, a bit lateish you might think). They said they have included updates and errata, though little has been evident from what I have looked at or being given info about. For example, the Arachne PrC still got Survivor as a required feat, though it is no longer available to Menzobarranyr/Underdark drow. And I still have problems getting my head about the missing good Fort save of the class, given that you pay quite heavily for the class too. Some PrC have been updated though, e.g. in the web-enhancement to Complete Divine. |
