If this were the Realms, what deity would you likely favor, and would you be clergy of that particular deity.

Personally I'd pick Ilmater.

08-07-07, 11:02 PM I don't know who I would worship, but I always enjoy Selune in my campaigns. I find her portfolio very interesting and she seems to have strong relationships with many other deities like Mystra, Sune, Lathander, Valkur and others. She is also deadly enemies with my two favorite bad deities Shar and Malar. I find her to be underrated.

If I was from Faerun, a wide number of deities, with special interests for Mystra, Azuth, Oghma, Talos, Myrkul, Gond, Shar, Jergal, and Lathander.

08-08-07, 07:08 AM I find that if you stack with one, you lose a lot of things to feel. What about these? Baervan Wildwanderer, Bahamut, Clangeddin Silverbeard, Eldath, Eilistraee, Gond, Gorm Gulthyn, Hanali Celanil, Kelemvor, Mystra, Oghma, Sune, Tempus, Tyr, Torm... and a lot more.

Eilistraee is also very special to me. ;)

08-08-07, 07:25 PM I would have to say Lliira. Something about spreading joy, dancing, and being merry I find very appealing. Also her Harper connections can't be ignored. Plus how cool would it look to fight in melee with a combat dance with blade boots.

Tymora (given I practically worship her anyway - just wish I was a better follower of luck), followed closely by Eilistraee, Mystra, and Sharess. I'm also fond of Sune and Lliira from the Faerunian pantheon, and Angharad, Sehanine, Corellon, and Hanali from the Elven panthon.

The male gods of Faerun (aside from the gender bending Corellon) have always been rather meh to me.

I like Mystra and Torm, I value some of what Lathander stands for. It depends on if I let personal ideals dictate worship or whether I choose a divinity based on other matters. Preferably, we shift the cosmos back so that souls don't require a patron divinity, I hold to a NG alignment and where possible honor Mystra and Torm while upholding the portions of Lathander's portfolio I agree with and not granting explicit commitments to any of them but I'm not certain I can arrange that.

Neutral aligned; Azuth (mages in general), Savras (diviners), Erevan Illesere (elves)

Evil aligned; Shar (shadow weave users), Velsharoon (necromancers), Vhaeraun (drow)

It does depend entirely on what sort of character I'm playing, though. Y'know; choose the right god for the situation and all that.

Talona, Loviatar and Sharess as well. The Crone, The Maiden and the Mother. Of course all perverse in their roles.

08-14-07, 05:40 PM I'd definitely say that Azuth comes in first for me, as my favorite character out of all my games is a Cleric/Wizard/Mystic Theurge of Azuth.

Beyond Azuth, Selune and Ilmater definitely come to mind as favored gods, as does Bane for a darker option.

Well, if you think about it, they're not really that different at all. I mean, sure, the Red Knight is much more cerebral whereas Malar is more instinctual; however, they are both strategists. The commander and the hunter must both outwit their foes if they are to suceed in their objectives. Also, I love lycanthropes. :P

08-20-07, 12:35 PM I can somewhat see that, though it still seems illogical. Malar favors slaughter because someone is weak; while the Red Knight may occasionally endorse slaughter, it is always tactical slaughter, not wholesale.
