| Lord_Madrigan06-03-07, 10:40 PM | I was looking over some of my sourcebooks and I ran into some confusion about this substance. In 2E Glass steel was the result of casting the spell of the same name on any glass object giving it the hardness of steel. in 3E there are some references made that indicate that only the Elves know how to make glass steel. so I have to ask Whats the truth about glass steel and where do I find it in the Realms? |

Both are very different as I believe Glassteel is expensive but lighter than steel and might even give a break on spell failure. Glassee armor or material acts the same, it's just transparent. Which I guess would save you a ton of gold but why it's a 6th level spell is beyond me. I can't think of any real benefit making something transparent might be. Unless you cast it on yourself or an iron golem or something. |
