06-14-07, 04:25 PM If two deities of above demigod status have the same portfolios, and are from different pantheons they can exist without problems. If, for some reason, they are forced into the same pantheon both deities must fight to see who survives.

06-14-07, 04:31 PM One exception is Ilmater and Loviatar. Both are above demi-god status, in the same pantheon, and both have Suffering. However, they differ extremely as to what aspects of suffering their actual Suffering portfolio entails (ie: Ilmater with self suffering, Loviatar with causing suffering to others).

I am thinking of introducing a new 'N' demipower that has the following in its portfolio: monastic teachings, tactics, balance, shadows, shadow dancers, self perfection, stealth, protection, griffons and hope into the realms.

Home plane is plane of shadows.

Looks like a showdown between Mask, Shar etc could happen.

It's not that they must fight but that they usually would. And remember that portfolios are not simply abstract possessions but mysterious divine affinities that shade into identities. All our rules about the gods, and all Realms theologians', are approximations and rules of thumb.

It's conceivable that they could get along and share in some way. But even though demipowers can theoretically represent marginal and sub-aspects of things in other gods' portfolios, it's usually cooperative: jealous, selfish gods like Mask or Shar wouldn't be amused by such an upstart, so it would need powerful allies.
