I've looked through a few books, but there just isn't anything on this it seems. The closest thing seems to be the ex-Cleric paragraph in the Player's Guide, but that's only really about resuming worship of the previous Diety. For instance there's a character that was a Priestess of Lloth, but for whatever reason she's had a change of heart (or alignment) and now wants to worship Eilistraee.

Is there anything in any of the books that covers this and I just missed it, or is this actually an area uncovered by any of the books?

It's in the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting. A cleric that decides to change patron deity loses all divine connection to his former deity. Then he has to make a quest for his new church and receive an atonement spell from a representative of the new deity. After all of this is done, the cleric is considered in all respects a member of the new faith and chooses new domains according to the new deity. Other divine spellcasters follow the same rules (except for domains, in case the character does not have them).

Of course. The one book that's sitting directly in front of me is the one that has the information I'm looking for (it was literally sitting on my computer desk). So much for all that time looking through all those other books.

Thanks for the help.

The beginning of Faith and Pantheons have more details on that kind of move. Also Powers of Faerun has rules for converting and even alterntive paths for clerics like heresies which can allow a cleric to have a different alignment from their on a limited basious if they can create a heresy.

That might also help, but the FRCS has the basics.
