When you cast invisibility, and permanancy on an item, lets say a cloak, does the item permanantly become invisible? or does it just get the ability to use the spell once per day?

The cloak itself would be invisible, but that's it. The wearer wouldn't become invisible, nor would anything covered by the cloak. That's how I'd rule it anyway:)

Unless you are thinking 2ed rules....

I'd also have to say you made yourself an invisible cloak.
It would help protect your clothing AND not cover up your fasion sence.

A great idea for a fasion focused bard.
Just don't leave it on a cloak rack, you may never find it :)

It becomes permanently invisible. It can't use anything. It's a cloak. One you can't see. Don't forget where you put it. Somebody paid 1000XP. Could be interesting though, if you made it for a specific situation....:lightbulb

If you wanted a cloak of invisibility you would have to use the create wondrous item feat while havign the invisibility and permanency spells memorized. then the via the power of the feat (think special ritual magic) then the spell(s) would enter the cloak and it could then be used to make anything inside it (and itself) invisible at will. That would be the basics - what other decorations to the process yoru DM wants is up to them :D
