Zanan 11-21-07, 10:48 AM	... which essentially says that Lolth barred or slew the drow demigoddess Zinzerena from entering Realmspace, yet picked up on one of her portfolios namely assasssins. That said, it is not beyond imagination that she possessed somesuch before.
Pyrogen 11-22-07, 06:05 AM	So far as I understand it, Lolth bumped off Zinzarena around the Time of Troubles and picked up her portfolio items of chaos and assassins, but since Zinzarena was simply a minor demi-goddess this applies to drow only. It seems inconceivable that as a result of offing an insignificant drow goddess, whose areas of concern largely overlaped Lolth's anyway, the latter suddenly becomes the goddess of all assassins on Faerun. This area is covered under the general portfolio of Murder which is now held by Cyric. (P.S. I am somewhat prejudiced on this as I don't like Lolth getting more power than she currently has and I am fed up enough that she apparently is doing so by pretending to be Moander - rotting death and decay - which would have been far more appropriate for Ghaunadaur.
Zanan 11-22-07, 09:56 AM	Well, I actually missed that bit in the opening article. Of course, Lolth holds hardly any patronage on any non-drow (half-drow) assassin. It is just a portfolio she holds for her kin, and as an portfolio as such is shared with many other deities - Mask, Shar, Talona and what have you. (IMHO)

Rogue / Dread Fang of Lolth* / Assassin (or something which provides a Death Attack) ... maybe? You need not to be an Assassin (DMG) to act as an assassin, of course. Green Ronin's Plot & Poison has a number of PrC which look very "assassinish" too. *Drow of the Underdark
