Making the Weave. [Archive] - Wizards Community

04-08-07, 02:19 PM Any ideas about how to create a weave ingame?

I've been thinking about this, and am considering its use as a plot hook. Maybe Red Wizard style.

That's the REALLY boiled down version.

So unless you are running a Greater Gods campaign then I'd suggest changing the "making a Weave" into "making an artifact"

04-09-07, 12:23 PM The weave is basically just a filter to make magic use save. When you want to "make" a weave then you have to find a way to access raw magic (thus circumventing the current weaves) and then find a way to make raw magic use save through some technic which is the harder of the two parts.

That is a pretty epic thing to do, even if you only want to apply this to yourself and not make it accessible globally.

04-11-07, 01:36 PM This gives me an amusing idea for a plot now. Xp; I can just imagine a new, foriegn diety, try to import a new weave from some other plane, and having her followers advertise it as a low cost alternative on street corners.

"Are you still using Mystras Magic? Does touching the Shadow Weave drive you crazy? Well now there's another option that the other gods dont want you to know about. Thats right, start using the Neo Weave today and you could save a bundle!"
